The console everyone knew so little about, having been dubbed the Nintendo NX finally gets a name! It's the Nintendo Switch, coming to stores March 2017. Hard to say weather it's a handheld or a tv console, though some users have been saying it's meant to replace the WiiU. The trailer doesn't give us much, other then it's somehow running skyrim, a non-nintendo game. I've posted the only video (so far) we have of it, and it's more of a TV advert.

What do you guys think?

it looks cool..but what happens if you lose one part of it? do you have to order the part alone or are they going to make you get the whole system again...

by the way the game in the beginning was legend of zelda Breath of the wild.

I know, and it looked great, but second game, or at least the game at 1:12-1:18 is in fact skyrim. They're letting other developers have games on their console now? Are these via digital copies? Is there literally going to be a small cartridge instead of disk with skyrim on it? (that makes me laugh a bit,actually, one of the biggest games ever on a teeny 3ds shaped cartridge.)

Yeah I was a bit concerned about those end pieces/controllers. They're awfully small, pretty sure they'd get lost easy as heck.

It looked like he put an SD card (or maybe thats the cartridge) into it? I'm really interested/perplexed by the Skyrim playing. XD I need to know more, Nintendo!

I'm going out on limb now and guessing $500 for price without game and $575 with a game/like a bundle

So it turns out that the Nintendo Switch is not getting skyrim, that we know of. Does this impact your initial opinion of the console? Does anyone else know more info about this?

I'm not that impacted that much by it, I'm mostly gonna get it for Breath of the Wild (and any other Zelda game), the next Smash Bros. installment, and *fingers crossed* the possibility of a new Metroid game. E

I think this looks really interesting. It's innovative for sure, and I think it's a bit of a continuation of what they wanted to do with the Wii U (from what I understand, you can use the Wii U's GamePad separate from the console sometimes), but more streamlined.

What Bethesda actually said was that Skyrim is not currently confirmed for the Switch, but they are partnered with Nintendo. Odds are that Bethesda just said that so people didn't wait to buy Skyrim remastered when it comes out soon. The Switch may just get it later when they decide to properly reveal it.

So we've got a release date now, as well as some clips and a list of games!

For me, Mario Odyssey seems amazing!

Breath of the Wild looks great so far. I can't believe we're actually gonna hear these characters talk! And I already love Zelda in this game...

I'm going to wait and see what other games come out for this game before I save up for it. Then again, I did that with the Wii U, and look what happened lol.

I wasn't impressed by their conference at all and it actually made me not want to get the console despite being somewhat interested in it before. I also think not having any bundles at launch is a huge mistake. I would've been much more willing to buy a system if there was a Zelda bundle instead of having to pay $300 for the system than an extra $60 for the game and $70+ if I want the pro controller. :/

still watching the video but one thing about taking it outside another places it that what if someone comes to steal it from you..it kinda scares me..remeber what happened at first with pokemon GO..this could happen too.. (Yes i know it could and I'm not saying it will but still)

@mars-that's one of the many reasons I was planning on waiting. I've noticed some nintendo bundles don't come out until a later point.

@darksportsnutd-I'm not particularly worried about that. If you're carrying it around, just treat it as you would any other handheld when playing it on the go-though the hype might prove me wrong. As you said, there were instances surrounding pokemon go.

So I've been seeing nothing but the new Zelda game on tumblr and on other social media everywhere. I know my sister played her friends Switch for a bit, but didn't really have many details since it was for so short a time? Anyone on here get their hands on a Switch? How does it handle compared to other consoles?

I haven't gotten a Switch yet, mainly because of the price, but I hear Pokemon games are being developed for it, so I might get one later, assuming the rumors are true.

Eh, I'm not that fussed about the Switch. I'll definitely consider it if a Super Smash Bros game is being made. The only game I like so far is Fire Emblem Warriors.
