Pretty obligatory for a new forum I was going to make a j-pop thread but I realized we don't have anything for music in general so I decided to make that instead c: Basically, talk about favorite bands or what you've been listening to lately c: Provide links whenever possible!
As you could probably tell from the above, I've been really into j-pop lately :'D Particularly girl groups.
Do the main three characters in this video remind you guys of the Three Lights too?
Another nice song c:
I could post loads more, but I want to see what you guys like too!

I am a HUGE fan of Hikaru Utada. She is so talented that I don't care if her songs are in English or Japanese.
Here are some of my faves:

Hee. I found out about Utada Hikaru through Kingdom Hearts myself. That song is really beautiful. Although the translation makes no sense with the game. lol. I guess the original lyrics didn't flow properly in english.
Do you know of her song "Marionette?" Ironically, I found it from a sailor moon music video. lol. I really like it though. https://youtu.be/MCN05Movf6M

Oh! On J-pop, I'm a HUGE fan of Ayumi Hamasaki. I think she's probably one of the biggest pop idols over there. She's had so many singles. I love a lot of her songs. I'm about to leave for work, but I shall post some when i get home tonight!

I used to adore j-pop but I do not listen to it anymore. I do not have any favorite bands/artists in general because I am that odd person who will ADORE one artist's song but loathe the rest. XD If I had to describe my genre though, it would be Coffee House music. I loathe Hollywood mainstream media more than I can possibly say. So I won't.
Here are a few of my favorites at the moment.
Samson by Regina Spektor. I have really come to like a lot of her music now. I used to only like one or two songs but I really love her distinctive singing style and nonsencial lyrics.
Movie Loves A Screen by April Smith -- this is the only song by her that I have listened to yet. It is ADORABLE. It has such cute lyrics and a really wonderful upbeat rhythm. It makes me feel good inside.
Baby, It's Fact -- this is another happy song for me. I think it is adorable and nice.
Lady In Spain by Ingrid Michaelson -- I really like Ingrid Michaelson a lot and I listen to several of her songs. This has a gentle flow to it with very wistful lyrics. I like it. ^^
In My Veins by Andrew Belle -- one of the most beautiful, emotionally stirring songs that I have ever heard. I love Andrew Belle's voice in general -- gentle, haunting and imploring. The lyrics to this song are especially pulling -- the idea of some one being in your veins is such a beautiful thought. What adds to the song is Erin McCarley who accompanies him.
I also like Lenka very much, Metric and Jem.

Well the list of my favorite artists is that extensive so I'll guess I'll post them according to the country they're from their name and two songs I like of theirs.
I love Ayumi Hamasaki, as I explained in my intro thread. I have ALL of her albums on my computer. My favorite so far is Next Level, and I Am... comes in a close second. My favorite Ayumi Hamasaki song is Mirrorcle World, and I love the live version from the 10th Anniversary Asia Tour 2008 Live in Taipei concert DVD the best! ^____^

Ella -- I hope you will give her a listen to some time! I was not a fan so much of her either until recently. I started to realize that I liked more of Ingrid Michaelson than I thought I did. ^^ Little Romance and The Way I Am are nice too.

I have to also say that I've been into dubstep lately. Mostly some dubstep remixes.
Ellie Goulding - Lights (dubstep remix) AND EVEN BETTER SOMEONE MADE A SAILOR MOON AMV TO IT AND ITS AWESOME.
The Cataracts - Bass Down Low (Proper Villians Dubstep Remix)
Oh and this is not dubstep, but Weird Al Yankovich's parody of Born this Way is GENIUS.
Nightwish - Moondance (set to another awesome Sailor Moon AMV)
Oh and anything by Pogo is good. You should definitely check out his music and videos on youtube. This is Toyz Noize.
And thats all I'll post for now. I have a wide variety of music, but I have a tendency to go towards electronica styles, j-pop/anime, etc. But I also love classic rock and a huge 80's music fan.

WHO IS THIS NIGHTWISH PERSON? Seriously, I got chills watching it and had to stop halfway so I could write this comment. XD It's insane watching it to the senshi powering up and attacking. If that had been in the anime ... totally BAMF.
Ohmygosh, I totally remembering have to dl vids! If I happened to come across realplayer then that was a godsend so I could watch it STREAMING. Ahahaha. But yes. My poor dialup had to work painfully just so I could watch 30sec clips from the gasp! never-before-seen-stars! episodes!

Since this is a music thread, I thought I'd include the song Moondance by Nightwish. Because it is that awesome and I need to listen to it at all times and imagine the senshi transforming and hurling their power in incredible Nightwish fashion. And maybe other people might feel the same.
Download listen to Moondance by Nightwish.

Nightwish is a really awesome Finnish epic metal band. If you are into metal at all and like really awesome female vocals, you should give them a listen. I'm not the hugest on metal, but some of their stuff is just amazing and beautiful. A lot of people are fans of the older female singer, but they have a newer one too, who is pretty good.
Also if you like epic metal, give Blind Guardian a listen. They have a whole album dedicated to the Silmarillion (if you aren't familiar with Lord of the Rings, its like a book about the history of mostly the elves but also of Middle Earth).

I actually do not like metal bands, which is probably why I do not like any of their other songs. XD Which is rather depressing because I love Moondance so much. I really like the fact that it is instrumental, but when the singers come in (with the other songs), it loses its appeal to me. :\

Teddy Geiger - (For You I Will) Confidence
An amazing song, an amazing voice, and an uberly cute boy. I prefer both the version with and without the drums.
Morningwood - Sugarbaby
Definitely NSFW (not safe for work) or possibly if you're under 13. I LOVE this band and this CD. This song is epic and the video is hilarious.
Sugarland - Stuck Like Glue
One of the first, last, and only country songs I like. It's a big deal.
I like a lot of other stuff, I think these three videos really show my range in music. Other stuff is mostly top 40 (Adele, Rihana, No Doubt, Pink etc) and some older artists who have become obscure now, but still release stuff I adore (Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton).

So let's see how this goes, but i'm a rock fan, and yeah I use the umbrella term because I listen to all kinds of rock.Lately mostly Skillet, Rise Against, and Eyes Set to Kill. That ranges from Christian, to screamo/post-hardcore. Mainly though I really, really like SKA!There are not enough ska fans in the world I believe. Mainly because it's hard ot find them. So I'll ask here- Does anyone like/listen/ has even heard of Ska Music? Here's one of my fave ska songs/bandsLess than Jake - The Science of Selling Yourself Short

I'm sure several of you have heard of Adele by now. She has gotten quite popular in the mainstream venue (which is kind of bothersome, but oh well). Anyway, I just recently heard a new song by her and it is gorgeous!
For those who do not know Adele, she has a very strong and soulful voice. But it is not just a powerful voice that is all volume and able to belt out melody lines. She has this smokey kind of husky sound to her voice that appears during different pitches. I also think she has beautiful instrumental movements to her songs. You should give her a try.
Set Fire to the Rain by Adele. Beautiful piano rift and this effortless free feeling rise to her voice when she sings the chorus. Lovely!

I'm pretty much into rock n roll, in special, alternative/punk rock and hardcore... and the oldies. I absolutely love U2. My favorites bands go from Beatles, My Chemical Romance to Pantera. I also love classical music, tangos and boleros and it goes on and on.... I love music.

Kent! The Ark! Maud Lindström! An Brun! Anna Ternheim! Covenant! Frida Hyvönen! Good grief this is a really scandinavian list!
My taste in music is really broad, though, I just hear a lot more Swedish music around the place naturally via location. I am mostly listening to Kent and The Ark right now though. They're both Swedish; Kent are basically Nordic rock superstars and unknown everywhere else, possibly due to the fact that they sing almost exclusively in Swedish. The Ark are The Ark. Glam rock, fabulously bisexual, glitter, etc etc.
The Ark:
The Ark - It Takes A Fool to Remain Sane. Yeah, I totally listen to this on loop when the world sucks and I'm still expected to get things done.
The Ark - Breaking Up With God. Their goodbye single.
The Ark - This Piece of Poetry is Meant to Do Harm
Kent:
Kent - Våga Vara Rädd ("Dare to be afraid")
Kent - VinterNoll2 ("Winter '02". God Kent you guys are basically waaaaay too Scandinavian to think that having facial expressions in public is proper aren't you.)
Kent - Generation Ex
Kent - Kräm (Så nära får ingen gå) (The title is "Cream (No-one is allowed to get that close)". There's a music video which I am very specifically not linking to because it freaks me the hell out; it's a good music video which apparently has nothing to do with the song, being entirely about suicide. I was pretty sure this was a song that was... about other stuff.)
Kent - Blåjeans ("Blue jeans", which is basically one of the most unexpected extended metaphors I've come across in a while. The blue jeans in question are someone's eyes? This is one of their super-early songs, as is Kräm - they sounded different back then but good-different, I think.)
