Most of you keeping up with the latest Sailor Moon news have likely heard about this already, but recently more details were announced at Anime Matsuri about this year's upcoming musical! It will be called Le Mouvement Final, which means "The Final Movement" in English, and performances will commence in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya sometime in September. Specific show dates and plot details have yet to be announced.

Most interestingly, in response to a fan's question about a potential US run of the musical at this year's Anime Matsuri panel, Osabu stated that no further details were available, but hinted that fans should "give full support" to help make it happen

What do you guys think? Is everyone excited? I'm definitely looking forward to it, but I'm a little worried about the implications of this musical being titled as the *final* movement and if that's some clue to the future of the musicals going forward.

In any case, I'm super excited!!  The Stars musicals have always been some of my favs, and with Amour Eternal bringing some themes from the old myus, I'm curious if the same will be done here! In any case, can't wait to see the cast list for an idea of the villain line up as well as to see if certain other characters Cosmos will be included. I really hope it's not the last musical despite the title; I'd love to see some more original plot lines!

Even though I've yet to watch UNV and Amour Eternal, I'm still very curious to see how they handle a Stars musical. It's going to be even harder to top Eien Densetsu. xD Ive only gotten to watch half of the panel video but Hotaru!Moon is really adorable in it, saying she really likes the food. XD

Big update today about Le Mouvement Final on the official Sailor Moon website including a cover poster, cast announcements and dates! Performances in Tokyo will be from September 8th to the 18th. Performances in Aichi will be September 23rd and 24th. Performances in Osaka will be held from September 29th to October 1st.  A synopsis of the story is a graphic so I can't throw it into google translate. If anyone's found a translation of it, feel free to post it here.

Seiya Kou, Sailor Star Fighter, will be played by Meiku Harukawa.

Taiki Kou, Sailor Star Maker, will be played by Riona Tatemichi. Riona previously played Rubeus in the Petite Étrangère musical.

Yaten Kou, Sailor Star Healer, will be played by Saki Matsuda.

Princess Kakyuu will be played by 岡村麻未.

Sailor Galaxia will be played by Coco Isuzu (Twitter, Instagram).

Sailor Iron Mouse will be played by Aoki Shion.

Sailor Tin Nyanko will be played by 橋垣美佑.
Sailor Aluminum Siren will be played by 小林由佳.

Sailor Lead Crow will be played by Juri Hirayu (Twitter, Instagram).

There will be two actresses playing Chibi Chibi. Hinari Yamaguchi and 新津ちせ.
There will also be some dancers playing additional villains. These are 椎原夕加里,　肥田野好美,　匂坂あゆ美 and Ayano Nagasawa. A number of them played villains in past musicals.

Some cool things I'm excited for: Riona Tatemichi (Rubeus and Hawks Eye) is making a comeback as Taiki, Matsuda Saki (Yaten) plays Sailor Moon Drops and posted a selfie with school uniform Yaten from the game so cute, and Kakyuu's actress is indeed an opera singer (the last link has a video where you can hear her sing)!

Some things I'm less excited for: No cosmos listed on cast list and no eternal uniforms for senshi other than Moon (I actually prefer the Super uniforms, but it would've been nice).

Thanks for the info Cardea! The info about Kakyuu's actress is really intriguing. She apparently taught at Akiko Kosaka's school! It's just unfortunate that whats mostly turned me off with the new musicals is the music and singing. I think if that were to ever get better I could actually enjoy the new shows.

I dunno if any of yall have noticed that despite my dislike of new Myu, i really want to try to enjoy them because i love the musicals so much but uuuuggghhh.... >.> I digress.

I'm wondering with the International FC, will early tickets also be open to them at the same time as the Japanese FC members. It would really be unfair no to IMO.

Wow! That Cosmos costume! Even though I'm not the hugest fan of Satomi, what a smart idea to recast her as Cosmos now that she's older! It's really fitting and she's gorgeous in the costume.

I am so happy to see Satomi back! I think it would be so nice to see more of the myu actresses playing roles of older characters once they age out of playing the younger characters. That gorgeous picture also happens to be my wallpaper too

I can't help but feel the casting choice for Cosmos is very meta, since one of the common debate in the fandom is whether Sailor Cosmos is a future form of Sailor Moon.

I didn't think of it that way, but I see what your saying.
I think they just did it as a cool tribute to be honest. And it ads more of the wow factor. But yeah it is kinda admiting in in a roundabout way.

I had seen a post a tumblr translating Satomi's thoughts on it and I wish I could find it. The way she defined it as being the future Sailor Moon but not was kinda interesting. xD

It's the image I've been waiting for forever! The Starlights look so cool, and Kakyuu is so pretty! also, please notice how the Starlights' shoes are normal shoes. These four seem to fit the characters very well, and I'm excited to see whether the musical treats them seriously or more for comic relief.

Here's the post on the official website. It pretty much says "Hey here they are!" and then has the messages from the actresses. I messed with them in a translator and it's not a translation but here's the jist (please correct me if I got anything wrong; this is a very rough translation):

• Meiku Harukawa (Fighter) mentioned that she loves anime and manga so she is happy to have this character! She also said that they are similar because they are both Leos, but that she still wants to play him with individuality (as in, different from herself). She also gave mention to this being the final chapter, but I hope she's wrong!
  

• Riona Tatemichi (Maker) said how she was Rubeus and Hawk's Eye previously, making his her third performance, and how happy she is to be in this year's performance. She goes on to say that even though she will be playing a senshi, opposite to her normal villain roles, she will perform as usual and live/perform with full power.
  

• Saki Matsuda (Healer) says she's loved Sailor Moon (or maybe the musicals?) since a young age, so she's very happy to be involved. She's nervous because it's a role she's never done before, but she'll do her best to deliver a good Yaten to the world of Sailor Moon, so please cheer for her.
  

• Asami Okamura (Kakyuu) is happy to be involved in a production so loved over time as Sailor Moon. She wants to be a gentle Kakyuu overflowing with love, and will try her best, so please support her.
  

That was more than I was planning on saying, but here they are! The Cast Staff page has also been updated with images of them. Also, fun fact, the translators I was using kept romanizing Meiku Harukawa's name as "Hoshino" or "of the stars."

In costume, that Taiki has a striking resemblance to Hikari Ono's Taiki! I guess they really had a certain look in mind for these characters all the way from the early shows. :O

IKR! Riona Tatemichi is one of my favs anyways, and I was sorda shocked by how similar she looked to Hikari (especially since they both also played Hawk's Eye lolol). I hope if the musicals continue after this that she'll appear in more. Also, I love their wigs? Taiki has never been a problem, but Seiya and Yaten's wigs look much better than in previous productions.

I don't like the look of the Galaxia. She looks a little too young for the role. I know Galaxia is a young woman in the manga but I rather liked the youthful but mature look they often cast in the older musicals.

Brit, your comment made me curious, so I looked up the ages of the actresses! Coco Isuzu is actually 33 apparently, which is the same age Tamami Matsumoto was when she was Galaxia in Eien Densetsu! She's also older than both Takemi (Shin Densetsu Kourin, 20) and Yumie Sakagushi (Ryuusei Densetsu and Kakyuu-Ouhi, 27). I was surprised, as she looks much younger than 33! I also prefer a more mature Galaxia (one reason I didn't like Takemi as much for the role), so hopefully on stage/in motion, she will give more of that vibe!

I am excited to see Satomi back. I have only seen like 15 min of Amour Eternal. I am in the same boat as Brit. I will probably watch this, but nothing will top Eien Densetsu. The costumes look super stunning.

I always find it interesting when people say nothing can top Eien Densetsu! I love it tons, but I can literally never choose a fav out of the Stars musicals because they all have aspects that make me feel like "this. this is the best thing ever." I don't necessarily think I'll like LMF as much as I do the other Stars musicals (old myu is just more my jam), but I'm super excited for it, and expect it will be my favorite of the new musicals.

One thing that I just realized though, and that I am very much looking forward to, is that this will be the very first Stars musical that both has Kakyuu and does not have Queen Beryl. (I love the Dark Kingdom, but I also like some good old fashioned Only Galaxia.)

Not saying it's gunna happen but from what I read on the plot of Amour, they took a lot from the old myu as far as some scenes and things went. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a bit of old myu inspiration here and maybe a surprise twist.

To be honest... while I loved the references to old myu in Amour Eternal, some of them also made me a bit sad/disappointed. Like I'm expecting a certain song to start playing, but then they sing something else instead, and a lot of times instead of being good enough where I'm like "man this is great," I just feel like, "Wow, I really want to listen to Mop, Hop, Step, Jump." However, I would love if they got inspiration from the first SailorStars musical by having the school festival where the inners and starlights and animamates all sing their own songs! Or by having Chibiusa and Hotaru going to the Edo period, either one really. Some references during certain death scenes would also be nice , and I have a feeling they're going to do SOMETHING with Mamoru because Yuga is so popular that they can't have her dead for the whole musical, so they could possibly make some references there as well!

Awww, Hotaru looks so happy waving her Eternal Tiare around!! The Eternal fuku looks amazing, they finally managed to make the sleeves look not weird (old myu eternal sleeves have their charm but let's be real they sorda ugly and those things in Amour Eternal were just odd). Also I definitely didn't rewatch each section at least 5 times to watch each individual person, nope.
