Hi! Since I'm new here, I thought it'd be best to introduce myself. I'm Sailor Rayquaza.

I actually got into Sailor Moon a few years ago by browsing Youtube and watching video called "Sailor Moon- All Transformations". This was around the time I was hunting for new stuff to watch after I finished Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 and the animation caught my eye, so i thought, 'hey, why not give this series a go?' Ever since, I've been hooked. 

Since my younger self didn't know any better, I watched the Dic/Cloverway dubs of the 90's anime instead of the Japanese version, but after a while I realized (from reading comments on the videos and my own research) that their were a lot of differences between the dub and original but I still kept watching the dub because of lack of headphones and my parents (it wasn't that they opposed me watching it, they just sort of had this thing where if I watched stuff in another language I'd have to turn the volume down since I could just read the subs but I always liked listening to the voices   ). 

Once I finished the dub I got into the manga, which still remains my favorite version of the series till this day. I absolutely adore Naoko Takeuchi's artwork, it's breathtaking and it's what got me into art myself. I drew tons of fanart of myself and my friends as Sailor Senshi    back in the day. I also got into writing too because of it and tried writing some fanfiction (but I'm lazy and never finish anything). I also watched PGSM and Crystal too but I have mixed feelings about them so we won't bring them up here 

As for nowadays, I'm still into anime and manga. Sailor Moon was my doorway into the shoujo genre so I mostly watch those stuff (mixed in with horror too  ). I also still draw and and (try to) write.

Whoa, Thank You all so much for welcoming me! I can already tell it's a super tight-nit community here and I'm immensely happy to join! I can't wait to join discussions and chat with everyone here.
I'm actually not very skilled with digital art or graphics  
I'm more used to traditional art and still practicing with digital stuff and editing.
But! Regardless of that, I'll still look into it as it could give me chances to improve and get used to different forms of art. Thankies~

That's not a problem at all! As we speak, I'm working on some traditional doodles! Haha! If I'm remembering correctly, there are some other people who listed "traditional art" in their guild member information posts.

Ah, it's so good to know that I'm not alone in that department. I'm only now getting into collage making and those cool aesthetic posts you see on tumblr-but that's more of photo editing   .

G'day and welcome to GC. I wouldn't worry about the dubs, really that's how I got into Sailor Moon. Crystal makes me want to pick up the manga wherever I can find it.

Ah, I totally get what you mean! It's just thinking of that 'what if' scenerio of I had been introduced to the Japanese version first rather than the dub.

I understand that a lot of people got into Sailor Moon through watching the dub on T.V. and while I was unfortunate to not be around during that time, I still kinda think it builds a connection between those that watched it during that time and me (mainly because I know what they're talking about  ) so I definitely don't regret watching it!

Welcome to the forums! I can't help but notice your avatar-you like Tokyo Babylon too? Have you read any of CLAMPs other works? Also, I second what everyone's said about the dic/cloverway dub-no shame in saying that's the version you got into/introduced first-a lot of people got into sailor moon that way.

Yes! I love Tokyo Babylon  It's one of my favorites but I haven't seen a lot of people talk about it so I'm super happy to see someone else recognize it!! I absolutely adore Subaru   


I've also read X and Cardcaptor Sakura and watched anime versions of Chobits and Kobato. I've only gotten into CLAMPS works about a year ago (except Chobits, I watched that years ago) and plan on reading RG Veda next.
