The start of it all! Where we meet Usagi in all her adorably loud bouncing-around-like-a-puppy self. But even before that we got a showdown between a mysterious soldier (Sailor V) and who we later find out in the episode is Tuxedo Mask. Also I guess in PGSM the crystal is call the Phantom Silver Crystal? Idk there's so many different translations of the crystals name I don't think I even remember the original name of it lol 

Anywho we also meet plushy/CGI Luna! I'll admit when I first watched this show and saw they went back and forth between the two regularly I cringed. But watching it again, after having fallen in love with the show, it's endearing 

The acting is also something to get used to again. I don't remember the fight choreography being spectacular but after seeing it again it really hit me how stiff it felt xD Taking into consideration the time it was made and the more than likely non-existent budget these things can easily be forgiven, but if you don't know that when first jumping in I can see how it would be a turn-off for some. Which makes me sad considering how well the writers make up for that with the plot ❤

Another thing I noticed in that first fight scene is that they totally do the Naruto run 

I also have to snicker at how starry-eyed Usagi gets upon first meeting Tuxedo Mask. Like yeah ok they're just following the manga but I still think it's funny xD USAGI YOU'VE LITERALLY SAID 5 WORDS TO THE GUY TEH FUQ 

Next Episode: Ami's big entrance! ❤

So I watch Ep 2 a few days ago and totally forgot to make a post here. Oops!  Anyway! I'll just recap what I remember! 

Sailor Mercury makes her big entrance! Whoo! I think the Ami of PGSM is my favorite, she's just adorable and I'm a firm believer that as their relationship grows Ami falls head over heels in love with Usagi. But I shall address that in later episodes when she has her famous character arc 

But to further reiterate her cuteness, SHE TALKS TO A PLUSHIE CAT ALL PROPERLY LIKE SHE'S ADDRESSING HER SUPERIOR LIKE I SERIOUSLY CAN'T WITH THIS GIRL 

And she does the sweet and shy thing but she's also not afraid to set aside her normally reserved demeanor to kick some serious butt. Idk like she's got all the "sweet, shy, smart one of the squad" tropes that you normally see in shojo manga/anime but there's just something about PGSM Ami that makes me wanna squish her with hugs 

I also love how right after her first transformation she very gracefully lands on the water in that little indoor pond. And she's literally standing ON the water like an angel AND SHE'S JUST SO CUTE AND PRETTY

Next up, SAILOR MARSU 

Episode 3 wheeeeeeeeeeee!

So something random I noticed about this episode, in the last two the origin of the monsters is explained. The first one was Naru's mom being possessed, and the second one was those clay figures being possessed and transformed. But in this ep we have this random propeller dude who can also control vines for some reason? And it's never really explained where it comes from  Oh and it's got those slinky-like arms xD

But yay! Marsu! Our prickly, fiery, BAMF soldier of flame. While Usagi has pretty pink healing sparkles, and Mercury has water to fight with, Mars gets to shoot a giant ball of fire and rage from her fingers 

aLSO WHEN SHE'S THINKING HOW THANKFUL SHE IS THAT HER STRANGE 6TH SENSE WAS A GOOD POWER RATHER THAN BAD AND SHE'S GOTTA WIPE A TEAR BEFORE USAGI AND AMI SEE I'M DEAD WHY MUST YOU ATTACK MY FEELINGS HEAD ON 

And then of course at the end when she's all like "yeah cool I'll totes be a soldier and fight evil but friendship? #ew." I had to stifle the urge to shout SHOTS FIREEEEEDDDDDDDD

And then of course Usagi in all her tact, has an extremely delayed "EH????"

Up next, PUG PARTYYYYYYYY wait....

Le Masquerade ballllllllllll!

That actually turned into a Halloween party where Usagi is literally just in a bear costume, Rei thinks her shrine maiden outfit with an eye mask is good enough for a dress up party (oh honey ) and Ami is literally the cutest freaking thing IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE IN HER LITTLE CAT OUTFIT AND HER CASUAL OUTFIT BEFORE THE PARTY GOT ME SHOOK SHE'S JUST ADORABLE

Ahem, anyway Rei and Ami bonding over being socially awkward  And Ami totally respecting Rei's wishes to work together without forcing friendship on her  

And when Usagi and Tuxedo Mask were falling and they end up in some Steven Universe type of pink bubble and Tuxie is like WTF IS GOING ON?!?!? and Usagi's just casually singing like "nope nothing weird going on here just floating in the air in a magic bubble no big deal" 

But the way Tuxedo Mask looks at her while she's singing her heart out makes me squeal his face is like "your such an idiot but your cute" 

Also something I haven't talked about yet, The Dark Kingdom characters! Beryl in her outrageous outfit and those nails   And baby-faced, curly-haired Jadeite  And in this episode we meet Nephrite and I don't like the changes they made to him in this incarnation   BRING BACK THE LUSCIOUS BROWN LOCKS DANGIT 

So in the manga the next episode would introduce Jupiter but I don't think that's the case here? IDK we'll have to see
