I'm poking this section a bit.

For those who know and love the old Sera Myu (or for those that would be open for it), which one in your opinion would be the best to reproduce today? Keeping the stories, characters, plot twists and changes, which would you like to see again but with the technology / acting / costumes / wigs / singing of today (not necessarily with the La Reconquista / Petite Étrangère actors nor a female cast). It can be from the First Stage to the Fourth, it can include the Original Stories or even a remake of the very first Dark Kingdom Musical -shudders- (actually a remake if done properly would be good and I actually liked Reconquista).

I'd like the First Stage Final Story with the Starlights. Same story. Same songs. Same characters. But unfortunately, different actors but you can't have it all. Not gonna happen, but that's the one I would 'theorically' want back.

^ would you want all new actors or only some. Just curious.

Ooh this is tough, I love so much about Myu. I would love to see anything that features....shudders. Asuka Uranus to be remade and replaced with Nao and same with the neptune....she can go back to playing Mistress 9.

I would love for the original dark kingdom to get remade, but with better costumes....beacause we all know Crack Beryl needs a makeover.

I'd like the same actors to be honest (I always had a preference for the First Generation of Sailor Stars rather than the ones we were given Fourth Stage. They weren't bad... just not... the First Gen xD), just an upgrade with the technology of today. But it would be impossible time wise (most of them are in their 40s/50s now) so same everything with new actors would be as great. As long as they take the time to pick them.

(Random parenthesis: I'd replace every Uranus/Neptune by Nao/Yuhka to be honest. I respect them all, but those two are my preferences.)

Oh my god, Christmas Tree Beryl needs some huge makeover. And Usagi needs a smaller stick. It was scary.

I was thinking that it would be nice to have the Dracul Series again but I'm so against changing actors for this story that I didn't point it out at first. (Just the change of Gilles de Rais also annoyed me because Ryuuji was amazing, so I don't want to know what I would feel if the whole cast was changed).

agreed to everything you said. I loved Sayuri, Momoko,and Hikari. Hikari is the love of my life. I also favor Nao and Yuhka the best. Nothing against the others in any way. they just had the best chemistry.

I love the dracul series. I couldn't imagine them remaking them. Miyuki is just to cute. RIP baby girl. But I wouldn't mind a new story like the dracul series or even kaguya island. I think I liked the original story myus better. You never knew what was going to happen next. Which is true to some degree with canon stories. But yea, thats my thoughts

I'm weird, but I wouldn't mind any of them remade as long as they had Anza, Hikari, and Nao with Yuhka.  I would have loved a musical with all of them.....I'm greedy lol

I'm kinda in agreement with regards to the Dracul series, if only to tighten some things up story-wise given the vast differences between Transylvania no Mori and its kaiteiban. And better costumes too, since some of the stuff in Death Vulcan especially was pretty dire.

But I think I'd only want it if they could get back whatever original cast they could to reprise their roles (which would probably be pretty much anyone who isn't a Senshi or Tuxedo Mask). You might be able to prod Hikari and/or Yuuta to come back as Vampir and Dracul, maybe also Ryuuji as Tomoe/Berserker or Gilles de Rais and Ado Endou for just about anything.

this is so true, and people would pay to see it. I know I would. i love all of them. Miki Kawasaki too.

I totally would pay for it too. Though I believe Yuuta retired from acting?
But I doubt they would even consider doing it since most of the actors we love are above 40 and would maybe not gather the younger crowds. (Even though Hikari is still crazy active as well as others from their generation).

Now it's time for the younger people to take their place (though I do hope they would bring back some of the old actors in the new Sera Myu in lesser roles just for a reference to the fact Sera Myu started decades ago and not in 2013).

It's as though the musicals from 1993 to 2005 never existed when you watch the new ones (even though there is plenty of references to them, or scenes similar to the old ones. I don't know if it was on purpose or not however).

I'd remake the Anza's rendition of season four too.

Or at least get some new DVD out (wonderous technology to change VHS into DVDs nowadays). It'd be pricy, but I know there would be a lot of buyers in the States alone.

Yes, he's retired, but he came back to do a sentai movie a couple years ago, not to mention doing Anza's reunion concert thing back in June and also wanting to appear at various US conventions, so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility. You'd probably just need to make a convincing enough case.

And I second your comment about the Bandai musicals not getting enough love. The general Sailor Moon fandom is especially bad about this. They'll fawn all over the current ones, but bring up the original ones, and they'll either trash them for being "old" and "cheesy" (never mind that Sera Myu are inherently cheesy to begin with), or they'll ignore them like they never existed. It's their loss, because I think they're missing out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the new musicals made by a different company than the old ones? That would explain why they're not referencing any of the old stuff/doing any call backs or anything like that. Cause it's not their property?

Takuya Hiramitsu (La Reconquista) has worked in some of the former musicals (almost all the first stage and Kaguya Island) and Naoko Takeuchi was known to show up at rehearsal (we could see her in omake and such). I don't know how extended were the rights for it though?

Actually I would like to see all the Marina Musicals with a different Sailor Moon, just to see this Musicals with a protagonist I can take serious... But I think a complete reproduce of those Musicals with the new cast would be weird.. La Reconquista and Petite Etrangere were so different from the old Myu that I think they would destroy for example the Dracul Series

I would absolutely love to see the Kaguya story remade again. It's a really good plotline, was done well in both Kaguya and Shin Kaguya, but I'm always up for seeing it again! Would love to see Riona Tatemichi, who has played Hawk's Eye and now Sailor Star Maker (sound familiar?), playing Loof Merrow because I love her. I also think they could fill a few of the plot holes from both the original and Shin Kaguya, while also making the story a bit easier to follow...

The same could be done with the Dracul arc, but honestly so many of the characters in it felt so specific to their actors, that I feel like it'd be odd seeing it with different actors...
