Storyline Name: I Latte You A Lot

Plot Summary: During some down time, the two characters find themselves visiting a little cafe. It seems an innocent enough adventure - and everyone says the drinks are yummy! Just before they can indulge, however, a cold laugh rings throughout the cafe, and all of the other patrons begin to faint right in their seats. The cafeowner stumbles into the room, half oblivious. It seems she had been possessed by some strange aura, and she's able to get out that she was able to sneak an antidote into just one of the drinks as she made them under her possession, but before she can go into more detail, she faints along with the rest.

Problem is, there are tons of drinks all over the cafe. Many more than there are patrons. The possessed cafeowner was hard at work! How will our heroes find the antidote before the poison's evil powers are irreversible?
Details on any necessary information:Your setting is in a cafe! Feel free to take the plot in any direction you wish, twisting and adding to it as you see fit, and you can decide if your characters have been working together up to this point, or have only just run into each other (or any other variation), but your main goal is ultimately to find the antidote! The incubator's eyes stared blankly at the mess of the café. This turn of events interfered somewhat negatively with his plans for the day. If there had been a suitable magical girl candidate in this place, he certainly couldn't make a contract with her if she had fainted—and especially not if she went ahead and died from whatever odd poison was at work here. Sadly this did not seem to be the work of an actual witch. The space around them had not warped and changed. That was a pity. There would be no Soul Gem for his consumption later.

He stretched idly, shaking out his back legs, and turned towards the door. Unfortunate that this sort of thing was so common for humans.

She had been looking forward to coming to this little café again. The cute mugs filled with the sweet liquid chocolate were her favorite, and reminded her of a treat her grandmother made around the summer solstice. She'd wondered if it would be possible to bring some home with her this visit, so that her grandmother could try some herself. Hadley was certain the older woman would enjoy it just as much.

The first thumping sound stilled her hand before she could sip at the beverage, and curious green eyes looked around. Finding the slumped over figure made those eyes widen, and her heart began to race as even more patrons began to fall, their half-consumed drinks still held tightly in their grasps.

What was going on?

Had she been affected as well? She didn't feel any different. Perhaps she had been lucky, then. Hadley's muscles tightened in her concern, but she was uncertain how to help these people. Before coming up with a plan, the caféowner stumbled into the room, and spoke of an antidote. One that was hidden amongst the poison in one of the beverages. Before more could be said, the woman collapsed like all the rest.

Another glance around the room proved that she was the only one still awake - her, and a small little animal. Her first instinct was to associate it with a feline, but upon a second look, there was something different about it. Something she couldn't quite place.

Could it be the monster behind all of this? She had seen stranger things do worse. Or was it simply a pet, wandering around the café now that its owner was unconscious?

Hadley shook her head and looked away from it - whatever the animal was, it appeared unaffected and therefore she couldn't waste any more time thinking about it. She had to help these other people. Who knew just how long the poison was take before there would be nothing left to help?

She frowned, hesitating. She wasn't good at this kind of thing - and being alone made the pressure of it all feel a hundred times more heavy. Upon instinct, she sought out the comfort of nearby plants, and was glad to find a few within the café, and she found solace within their presence. But they couldn't help her either.

What was she going to do? She looked at all of the mugs within the room and her frown deepened.

How did a person go about finding an antidote in a sea of poison?

Oh...!

His ears twitched, sensing something of interest. Kyubey turned back towards the café, button-like ruby eyes scanning the room. He couldn't leave just yet. There was still something here that he could possibly benefit from; he had felt it had to be true. Something within the balance of entropy had shifted ever-so-slightly. What was it?

The nervous green eyes that glanced around the place, eyeing the numerous beverages, had the look of someone who wanted something. That generally boded well for his needs. The permanent smile on his face didn't change at all, but somehow it seemed slightly more sincere. And somewhat more sinister. But that was only visible for less than a moment, and then it was gone, returned to the impassivity of the stuffed animal-like manufactured cuteness.

Instead of exiting the place, he changed his path to approach her. The soft white fur rippled across his body as he moved, projecting the appearance of harmlessness and comfort. The pointed ears atop his head twitched almost like a cat's. The fluffy tail swished slowly behind him, moving almost like a metronome. He turned his face towards the girl, eyes wide and bright.

"Are you trying to save them?"

The new voice cut through her helpless thoughts and Hadley jumped a little at the unexpected sound. The white creature was no less strange than when she had first laid eyes upon it, and she wanted to be surprised by the fact that it was now speaking to her but in the middle of all this uncertain panic, she was just grateful not to be alone anymore. And, strange or not, it was certainly cute, and its fur looked soft. She wondered if sentient creatures found it insulting to be petted.

"Yes," she said in reply a moment later. Hadley looked away from the creature and her eyes took in the sight around her once more. That helpless feeling came back in full force. "Did you see what happened? Do you know where the antidote is?" It was a useless question, she was certain of it, but she had to ask anyway.

She paused, a small worrying frown pulling at her lips. "I'm not sure what to do, but I have to do something. All of these people..." The words trailed off with a sense of terrible finality.

"I don't know where the antidote is," Kyubey continued. As usual, the words were broadcast directly into this young girl's mind. The small mouth never moved, and the face remained passive. The tail snaked behind his body gracefully swept from side to side as he spoke. "But, if you want to make a contract with me, I can grant you one wish."

"Any one wish. It could be to find the antidote."

Wouldn't that be awfully convenient?
