Now I love the musicals dearly, probably more than any other version of the series but even I find a few problems I struggle with... so I thought I'd talk to myself about them because I don't want to sleep:

1. Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu (Kaiteiban)- Marinamoon Final - Ai yori Houseki Kaguya Shima

This is probably by far the biggest issue I have with the musicals. I know its a little sad but seriously, in this version... no one is singing the right lines... they're not even... I can't understand... why... T.T

2. Makoto Has No Value

Poor Mako... tossed aside and ignored for nearly every musical... Eri Kuriyama was the first Jupiter to get a proper part of the musical, unfortunately this was merely "Zigzag Slash-I'm a vampire-oh no" that didn't matter much. Apparently letting her sing Zigzag Slash from time to time was good enough... Another thing to note: Mai Watanabe, one of the longest (if not /the/ longest, failed to receive any slightly larger part in any musical. Manami Wakayama, who played Mercury side-by-side Mai, however did in Starlights ~ Ryuusei Densetsu)

3. Whatever Happens Afterwards Is Irrelevant

It would be nice to find out what happened to ALOT of the characters after the musicals... its not even clear if they die or were purified in half of them. This list includes but is not limited to: The Sailor Animamates, Lilith of Darkness, Death Lamia, The Samael Quartet, The Sailor Starlights and Damask... Lamia, where did you flee too. My guess is far away from Transylvania considering what Elizabeth said about her... Maybe she's on holiday in Sweden.

4. Miyuki Is Not Allowed To Sing La Soldier

Miyuki Kanbe never got to sing the full version of La Soldier in a musical, only ever the 1 Chorus version, I can't even find a fan kasha where she does and it definitely wasn't recorded on the cds. This is a real shame. I'm not sure why they didn't... It's just unfair in my opinion. Fumina did, she has less performances than Miyuki =\

5. NEW Mou Ii No

Liar, you aren't new at all. Your lyrics are exactly the same, and how can your melody be different... ITS A CAPELLA! Perhaps they meant its NEW from the 1998 version... but the only difference between NEW Mou Ii no and the original is the singer.

6. That Third Uranus Who Shall Remain Nameless

I don't want to be rude but... Go Home. Please.

7. People Being Heightist To Fumina Hara and Yuki Kamiya

Yes, Fumina is tall and Usagi is supposed to be short... and yes Setsuna is tall and Yuki is shorter than the actress playing Hotaru. But they're so wonderful at singing! Please don't hate them everyone!

8. Following Anzamoon, Every Attack Is From The Anime

It's nice to have some variation, not EVERY attack has to be Fire Soul and Sparkling Wide Pressure... What about good ol' Coconut Cyclone?

9. Wasted Character Designs...

Ptilol, Lethe, Mnemosyne, Sailor Kakyuu... Such a shame you never made it in...

10. Let's Never Use This Song Again.

Ankoku no Madonna... Tenkuu no Utage... some of my favourite songs, only used once... (well technically Tenkuu no Utage was twice, but the second time it was only the first half).

11. Let's Use La Moon Again Instead of Bringing Back Other Theme Songs

La Fatalite Sei Senshi. 7 Years, you shall never be heard again.

12. The Pegasus Voice

Not telling us who you are is just cruel.

13. Chibiusa Not Allowed In Songs

I would like to see just ONE opening happy yay-vacation-yay-springtime-yay-life-yay-bun-bun-bun song with all ten and not just nine...

14. Drive Me The Mercury In "Transylvania no Mori (Kaiteiban)"

Ridiculous Placement. *Epic Revelations* - Mercury: "I'VE HAD ENOUGH! TIME FOR SINGING"

15. Lonely Typhoon

Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu's album version of Pinky Typhoon... she sounds so alone and sad... this song needs lots of people performing the UUAHHH!s

16. No La Soldier For You

Ya forgot to put it on the 7th Musical Memorial Album... I don't care if its on the Theme Songs. It must be on ALL.

17. Unreleased Music? No Let's just release Honoo no Messenger again!

Is it too much to ask to release songs like Guoul Guoul Guoula ~ Sabato Hen ~ , Akuma no Ragnarok, Wake Up! Shining and Teikou no Hana? I mean, really do we need more Honoo no Messengers...

18. No Staying Alone For You, Yuuko

Yuuko Hosaka never got to sing Stay Alone (as to my knowledge. If you find it. SHOW ME)

19. Unreleased Musicals

*Sigh* I wanted to see more Keiko Hanayama and that Pluto with the death stare.

20. Fuyu wa Nan Tatte

... and I shall never hear GIN GIN GIN!

21. That Makoto in "Ai no Sanctuary"

I would have LOVED an Another Story musical. I dream of that o.o

In addition to one for the S Movie, the SuperS Movie, one that mixes the Makaiju arc and the R Movie, two about Sailor Chaos and one where Ptilol rises from the ruins of Mugen Gakuen.

I think I love you.

I spent a good two or three hours last week doing research and stuff, trying to figure out what the Outers' Oppositto would be named, and trying to figure out how the game would go from cartridge to stage. XD

But a musical with Ali, En, and Fiore would be so beautiful! (and also have so much potential for amusingly gay scenes with Fiore hitting on Mamoru)
And I'm hoping your musicals about Sailor Chaos include Lethe and Mnemosyne! Or at the very least involve Sailors Mau, Cronos, Mermaid, etc.

Of course Lethe and Mnemosyne! They'd be in league with Chaos, although Mnemosyne is secretly helping the Sailor Senshi out.

and Phi, Chi, Theta and Buttress would return out for revenge against Galaxia and her league of all SEVEN Animamates Perhaps now they're good they become Sailor Chuu, Coronis, Mermaid, Cocoon, Mau and maybe Pewter Fox and Titanium Kerokko become Sailor Vixen and Sailor Lilypad or something?

(Oh no, I just equated the animamates to the 7 evil exes. XD)

Akiko Kosaka is the only choice for a composer. If we could convince Akiko Yanagi to choreograph again but Ado Endou would suit it just fine... I wish we could have Kayoko Fuyumori for a lyricist but we'd have to settle for Junya Saiki, who could double as director... The Sunshine Theatre for a venue of course!

WE MUST BRING BACK THE SAILOR QUARTET FOR THESE MUSICALS.

Beryl will dying embracing Mamoru and promises to Usagi that she will look after him while he waits for her... and then Usagi gets to the Cauldron and Ikuko comes out and hugs her daughter and reveals that the spirit of Queen Serenity has lived in her all along watching over her daughter and dies protecting her! Ahhh!

I know right, that idea brings up so many emotions in me. I feel that the most important concept in SeraMyu is "motherhood" it crops up constantly... not so much in the anime-based First Stage but after that it just comes up again and again and again and I feel it just needs to finish on that note. Of course the final musical's final song would be "Double Moonlight Romance" which everyone will sing as Usagi marries Mamoru.

I feel like parents in general get a huge focus. Like, the other canons, and First Stage, all focus on romantic love (which is beautiful in its own right), the Second, Third, and Fourth Stages all have this recurring theme of love between parent and child, and its importance to both parties.

Vampir has her longing to meet her mother, and a distant father.
Kaguya Island speaks for itself.
Aaron and Manna want to go to Earth to see the flowers their mothers told them about.

The powerful bond between parent and child is really emphasized in the musicals. Probably because of their demographic not being old enough to really involve themselves with romantic affairs.

But I think it's better that way, because not everyone needs to learn about how to fall in love. They may be too young, or already be in a relationship. But everyone has those irreplaceable bonds between parent and child that they have to constantly nurture and foster.

Lets not forget Lilith and Astarte's constant desire to be "Mother Goddesses" and the Samael Quartet's lack of parents... Even Lilith's song is called "Ankoku no madonna"

Mothers and Daughters are so intensely important to the series, its just something I really really love about it. The anime seems to be primarily interested in teaching morality and character strength, the manga likes to involve itself in romance and PGSM favours to express the individual character traits but the musical combines everything together ^^

Oh man, I totally forgot about the "Mother Goddess" thing!
And the poor Samael Quartet... they're just such precious babies. abububu

I hardly think the Samael Quartet is "precious" XD Constantly ordering around poor Mandrake, telling off poor Elizabeth and making fun of Gilles de Rais XD but they're still cute in their own sadistic children's way

I adore the idea of after Transylvania no Mori, Lilith and the Quartet's true wishes were fulfilled and Lilith became their adoptive Mother. Lilith gets to be a real mother and the Quartet get a parent ^^ That's my headcanon anyway.

I have a question: This is my first time watching any of the musicals and I'm on SeraMyu Antics watching Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen and I can't help, but notice that the costumes are really bad. Luna and Artemis's moon symbols are wrong because they are sideways and all of the characters have clothes that seem too big.

Is is like that in all of the musicals?

no its not. that is the very first musical which i never recommend to other people because for some people they can be extremely off putting. Particularly for the costumes. But remember, those costumes are early 90s, and as we know everything in the 90s was just awful and early musicals had much much smaller budgets. I would actually recommend a different musical to start with. Luna and Artemis do not appear in any other recorded musicals but this one and if you think about it. If the crescent moon on the foreheads were the right way around it would actually look even worse... Luckily the reasons you have stated are pretty cosmetic, and the singing, acting, dancing, lyrics and music are pretty solid.

It's actually quite amazing how much better the second musical is. Usagi ai no sesnhi e no michi is exponentially better but the first musical is still fun ^^

I have to say that the music in these are freaking amazing! I love it!

Poor poor Mako. She only really gets any development out of all the versions in PGSM. The anime eventually degrades her to the "green" one and the manga...well she gets lumped into the rest of the girls after Dream arc. And even up until then we don't get a whole lot of Mako development. I think though the musicals are the worst out of all the different versions.

This part was actually done by Yuuta Enomoto, the same actor who played Tuxedo Mask in Shin Densetsu Kourin! I'm not entirely sure where I first learned this (I think on the Cruel Angel Subs website...), but you can definitely hear it if you listen to both versions of Double Moonlight Romance.
