| Advanced Character Profile Character Name: Daenerys 'Dany' Targaryen.Alternate names/titles: 'Daenerys Stormborn', 'Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name. Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men', 'Queen of Meereen', 'Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea',' The Unburnt', 'Mhysa' (Mother), 'Breaker of Chains', 'Mother of Dragons'.Gender: Female.Age: 19.Universe: A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones.Canon: Canon. Appearance: Being the sole survivors of the destruction of Valeria, House Targaryen are mostly associated with their unique Valyrian features consisting of platinum blonde/silver hair and violet eyes. In attempt to keep their bloodline 'pure', Targaryens typically marry within the family and these features mostly appear in the members born of incest whereas Targaryens that have a parent that isn't one might not receive those physical traits. Dany has what many would call the 'blood of the dragon' meaning she has the typically Targaryen look: silver hair and violet eyes. She rarely wears her hair fully down in public, typically only wearing it loose in her private chambers with her handmaidens. Instead she wears her hair in various buns, up-dos, pony-tails, and more that are styled with braids similar to her Dothraki followers. Dany isn't very tail, even for age, being very dainty yet still managing to command a large presence. She is described as being extremely beautiful by nearly everyone she meets and as a result has many suitors trying to marrying her for both her beauty and power. As Dany grows in power and frequently travels across Essos, her attire often changes and grows as she adapts their styles to suit her own once she leaves as well to reflect her regal status. Despite no longer being a true 'Khalessi', Dany still incorporates her Dothraki roots into her clothing by always wearing riding pants under her gowns with riding boots and frequently dresses in blue because it is a Dothraki power color. She represents her Targaryen heritage by having dresses with scale-like embroidery and wearing dragon-themed jewelry to represent her house before eventually abandoning the Dothraki colors all together to wear her house colors, specifically black. Dany also likes dressing in capes with her gowns during public events.Personality: Daenerys is originally a meek and timid girl as a result of spending years living on the streets with her abusive brother, Viserys. Once sold to Khal Drogo, Dany begins to grow into her own person and becomes increasingly less dependent on her brother. After Drogo's death and her 'rebirth' in his funeral pyre that awakes her dragons, Dany becomes a true 'Targaryen'; displaying incredible leadership skills, confidence, and maturity that inspires loyalty and quickly earns her a host of followers as she conquers cities in Essos and slowly builds her empire. She can be incredibly trusting to others but also completely ruthless is her trust is betrayed or she feels that the person is an oppressor. Because she was mentally oppressed by her brother and then sold away, Dany is compassionate and extremely empathic because of her own oppressive upbringing so despises slavery and has made it her personal mission during her reign to banish slavery across Essos which is how she earns her title 'Breaker of Chains'.She can be stubborn and inflexible, not wanting to change her mind about what she believes to be true even if the information came from someone unreliable such as her brother. She often wants to make the world a better placed based on what she thinks is right and ideal without fulling considering everyone's else view. Because of her own naivety about the world, she has trouble realizing that many issues aren't as black and white as she would want them to nor can some issues be instantly revolved because she wishes it too. Dany can be short-sighted when making decisions and not thinking about the repercussions of her actions. For instance, when freeing slaves from Astapor and Yunkai she forms a council to rule in her place yet doesn't predict the chance of them being overruled once her armies leave and the freedmen being slaves once again - which is exactly what happens. Because of betrayals from those close around her and threats to her life growing up, Dany can be guarded and cold at times to protect herself. It also remains to be seen if Dany has inherited 'Targaryen madness' that inflicted her father and others in her family.Any Unique Abilities/Skills: Being a descendant of Valyrian, Dany has the 'blood of the dragon' and therefore a natural connection with her dragons and is a dragon rider herself. In show canon, Daenerys is immune to fire and heat, meaning that she cannot be burned. History: Born in 284 AC (Aegon's Conquest), Daenerys was born on Dragonstone, the Targaryen's ancestral home during a raging storm which is how she earns her alternate name, Daenerys Stormborn. Her mother, Rhaella Targaryen, had fled Kingslanding with her borther, Viserys, after the Targaryen's were officially defeated during Robert's Rebellion. Rhaella went into labor after living on Dragonstone for months and died in labor, making Daenerys and her brother the last (known) living Targaryens. Her father, 'Mad King' Aerys, was killed by Jaime Lannister and her oldest brother, Rhaegar, was killed in battle by Robert Baratheon who would eventually become king. Before they could be captured and most likely killed, the children were rescued by Targaryen support, Willem Darry, and lived with him in Braavos. The children with until his death when Dany was five; his servants stole his belongings and forced the children to live out on the street. As they grew older, Viserys who had been crowned King by his mother, believed he needed to reclaim his thrown and sought support throughout Essos yet received none. Eventually, they grew so poor that they had to sell their mother's crown and her brother was named the 'Beggar King' throughout Essos. Frustrated by his humiliation, Viserys grew increasing unstable and eventually abusive towards Dany, going so far as to blame her for their mother's death.Despite their constant setbacks, they eventually meet the Pentos magister, Illyrio, who helps them in their attempt to reclaim their throne. Illyrio eventually arranges a marriage between Daenerys and Khal Drogo, a powerful Dothraki warlord, and in return Viserys will use the Khal's horse-riders as an army to invade Westaros. Dany doesn't wish to marry Drogo but is threatened by Viserys and has no choice. At her wedding, Illyrio gives Dany three petrified Dragon eggs and also meets the exiled Knight, Jorah Mormont. She is also given a silver mare by her new husband and after the marriage they consummate their marriage. Afterwards, Dany finds it difficult to adjust to life as a dothraki; she isn't used to their nomadic lifestyle and Drogo takes her forcefully during the night. Eventually, Dany begins to feel more comfortable and gain more confidence as a 'Khalessi' and her marriage with Drogo becomes one with consent and mutual respect while her brother becomes even more disgruntled. When Drogo's khalasar travels to Vaes Dothrak, the sacred city of the Dothraki where figthing is forbidden, Dany is now pregnant and after eating an entire stallions heart in front of the dosh khaleen, previous Khalessis, they declare her son will be the 'Stallion who mounts the world' and will unite all khalasars into one. Viserys, angry that the Dothraki haven't become the army he wanted, threatens Dany and her child causing Drogo to 'crown' Viserys with molten gold which kills him. Afterwards, Dany progresses in her pregnancy and is almost poisoned by an assassin hired by Robert Baratheon, angering Drogo who vows to take the Iron throne. As the khalasar raids villages for resources for ships and raping the woman left behind, causing Dany to order a stop to all raping despite it being a normal custom in Dothraki culture. When Drogo is severally injured in a raid, one of the women Dany saved from rape, Mirri Maz Duur, claims that she can help heal him. Despite Drogo's bloodriders protest, Dany lets the woman care for Drogo but when warned that Drogo shouldn't remove the bandages, he does so anyway. His wounds worsened and Drogo eventually falls off his horse; when a khal falls off his horse, he isn't seen as worth following anymore. Desperate, Dany begs Mirri to save Drogo. Mirri warns Dany that no one should enter the hut, however, a fight breaks out and Jorah carries Dany into the hut as Mirri Maz Duur is performing blood magic. When Dany awakens, she learns that her son was stillborn, Drogo is in a coma-like state, and Mirri Maz Duur tells her that she had never intended to save. Dany kills Drogo to end his suffering and ties Mirri Maz Duur to his funeral pyre before burning it. Dany tells the last remaining Dothraki, ones were considered too weak to bring along, that they are free before stepping into Drogo's funeral pyre. As Dany steps into the fire she begins to hear cracking of the as she performs blood magic for the first time; Mirri Maz Duur's death gives life to the dragons as only death can pay for life. When Dany emerges from the fire, unharmed with dragons, all of Drogo's followers swear loyalty to her.Other Noteworthy Facts: Prophecies tie in heavily with Daenerys' character. Dany is believed to be Azor Ahai reborn and 'The Prince That Was Promised' (it's suspected the both figures are the same person but it's still unknown) by followers of R'hllor (or the Lord of Light) who claim that she will defeat the incoming darkness. Whether or not this is true or not remains to be, however, Dany fits all the requirements of the prophecy: She was reborn "amidst salt and smoke" along with her dragons during the burning of Drogo's funeral pyre and her flaming sword, Lightbringer, are her dragons instead of a literal flaming sword.During her visit to the House of the Undying, Dany sees many visions of the past and of future events that have yet to happened. She is also told about many significant events that have either happened or will happen in her life. She is told that she will 'light' three fires: one for life (the fire that killed Mirri Maz Durr and gave life to the dragons), one for death, and one for love. There are also three 'mounts' she must ride: one to bed (her horse she rode on her wedding night to Khal Drogo), one to dread, and one to love. There are also three treason's that she will know: once for blood (Mirri Maz Durr lying about saving Drogo out of revenge), once for gold, and once for love.Universe Specific Information:-On 'Planetos' (This is fanmade name. The world doesn't have a known name), they experience weather patterns where seasons last years instead of months. Typically the longer the summer, the longer the winter will be.-It is said that when the last dragon died over 100 years ago, gradually magic disappeared from the world, However once Dany's dragons are born, spells becomes stronger and more effective, a sign that has magic has returned to the world.-Thousands of years ago, there was an event called the 'Long Night' were the 'Others' from behind the Lands of Always Winter invaded Westeros and other parts of the world with a large undead army during a long winter. There are stories of a hero (going by different names in various cultures) driving the White Walkers back before ultimately defeating them. It is believed that the White Walkers are preparing for another Long Night during the next winter in that only Azor Ahai reborn can defeat them.-Valyria was an ancient civilization that consisted of a large and powerful empire ruled by dragon-lords for thousands of years. Valyria was eventually destroyed in an event called the 'Doom of Valyria' where the cities where destroyed by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions before being fractured into smaller islands. It is unknown what caused the Doom and why but most of the Valyrian's knowledge and secrets was lost during the destruction. Anyone who has tried to travel to its ruins have disappeared entirely in the Smoking Sea, making many to believe the lands to be cursed and filled with demons. House Targaryen and their dragons survived the Doom after Daenys Targaryen, who would be eventually called Daenys the Dreamer, had a vision of Valyria's destruction and convinced her family and their close allies to flee.Storyline Specific Information: TBA.Source: Used both for fact-checking: x, x. The boat swayed beneath Daenery's feet as she inhaled the smell of salty air around her, trying to find a moment of peace despite being in the very center of the chaos around her. The sound of Dothraki retching over the boat, sailors cursing, horses neighing in agitation, and her dragons, Drogon, Viserion, Rhaegal, screeching above her as they bit at one another in the air filled her ears. The constant clamor made it difficult to concentrate yet despite it all she remained where she stood, knowing that she wouldn't think any clearer in her chambers either. Dany exhaled, slowly opening her eyes and looking towards the horizon as she struggled to blink back tears. After so many years of suffering and fighting to survive in Essos, she had finally done it; she was crossing the Narrow Seas and returning home. She was returning back to Westeros. Taking back her family's rightful seat in Kingslanding had been all she had dreamt about for the past three years yet now that she was so close to getting it, she was only filled with dread and doubt.
Am I doing the right thing? It had been a question Daenerys had been asking herself the moment she had sailed away from Dragon's Bay in Meereen. As Queen she had left a council to rule in her sted with Unsullied and Dothraki to protect them if the slave masters attempted to revolt again; a lesson she had learned after her foolish and naive decision to leave her council in Astapor vulnerable and unproteced. Her victory over Yunkai in the Battle of Fire would certainly make any of her enemies think twice about attempting to attack her city but she was fully aware that the slave masters wouldn't submit forever and she nor her dragons would be there to stop them if they tried attacking Meereen. Another issue that weighed down on her was also the inevitable war that awaited her once she arrived in Westeros. Her nephew, Aegon, was also vying for the Iron Throne and while he did not command the forces she had, he still was an annoyance in her plans. She had three nearly full-grown dragons, a Dothraki horde, and an army of Unsullied that were prepared to bring the usurper and his legion of dogs on their knees with only a simple command and she wasn't fond of potentially wasting them on him and his band of sellswords.
Dany sighed in frustration as she walked across the wooden planks of the boat. This is what she had wanted and had motivated her for years. Yet she couldn't even remember what Kingslanding looked like. Because I have never even seen it. She thought bitterly. Dany had only knew of Kingslanding and the Red Keep through the stories her brother told her and through her own imagination. How could she truly take back a place that she had never even been to? As she watched the waves of the sea, it reminded her of somewhere she had actually been. It was a place she had always thought of in moments of duress; it was house with a lemon tree in front of a red door. She remembered it all so clearly; it was where she and Viserys had lived as children in Braavos. It had always been a reminder of better, simpler times when she had been out on the street as a beggar and even now as a queen. If only she could go back there...
If I look back I am lost. Dany quickly reminded herself, mentally chiding herself for thinking of the past. She wasn't a child anymore nor was she the 'Beggar Queen' or Khal Drogo's Khalessi, or even the Queen of Meereen. That was all in the past now and she could only look to the future. If I look back I am lost. She repeated to herself more forcefully. The sky suddenly grew dark causing Dany to look up towards the sky only to see Drogon screeching loudly as he flew above them all, casting a large shadow over all of the surrounding boats beneath him.
Remember who you are, Daenerys, ... The dragons know. Do you?
Quaithe had told her that once ago and she had never fully understood what it meant. Until now. She was Daenerys Stormborn, the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, and the last dragon of House Targaryen. Her dragons were fire made flesh and so was she. Her resolve strengthen, Daenerys smiled softly as Viserion and Rhaegal flew overhead to catch up with their brother. She had told herself when that when her dragons were grown she would take back all that was hers and now they were ready. With fire and blood, she would take it all.
