- Hardcore Events
Hardcore events are a sampling of all the Roleplaying Section has to offer: profile approvals, live-chat sessions, dungeon crawler game elements, and a one-month time limit to complete the story or get a bad ending.
- Duration:
One month exactly, unless a problem arises with the host, in which case the event will be extended for the number of days the host was absent. If the storyline is not resolved within a month's time, the mission fails.
- General Rules:
All roleplay rules and gc rules apply Activity Rule: Participants are required to post within 24-48 hours or will be removed from the event (their characters will either be lost or replaced). Random Events may be introduced into the story if all players are active within the OOC chat or on the boards; Random Events are storyline plot events in which players will have a limited time to respond before consequences are enacted; each will come with a caveat in that if you cannot respond within the given time-frame, you may request another player's character take your character with them (if movement is required). Consistency Rule: All players are held to the understanding that they will pay attention to the story flow, taking note of roleplay elements (situational - who's talking to who, where people are located, etc) and event elements (their HP, MP, the placement of others on the map, etc.). If a player derails the event with inconsistencies, consequences will occur.
- Requirements:
Character Profile - Participants are required to have their character's profile submitted and approved before the event begins. *Advanced Hardcore Events require advanced character profiles. Word Requirement - Advanced Hardcore Events require minimum 100-word posts.
- Additional Elements:
Real Time RP - some Hardcore Events will have real-time rp sessions to start, end, or move the story along. Participants are required to have a skype account for these live-chat events if they don't want their character NPC'd through those instances. Dungeon Crawler - some Hardcore Events will have dungeon-crawler game elements to them, wherein players will need to distribute attribute points to reflect their characters strengths, weaknesses, and special abilities, and will need to prescribe MP requirements to attacks. During these events, they will be at the mercy of random number generators (digital Dungeons and Dragons style die) for attacks and defense rolls to minimize godmodding and/or powerplaying. Certain Events officially happen within the Galaxy Cauldron's Crystal Tokyo Timeline and so can be added to character's histories, instead of just their Storyline Information sections. Participating in these events, whether playing an original character or a canon character, can have consequences within this timeline we're creating together - characters can become famous, can make enemies and allies, and can, through storyline events, grow and develop as characters and let that development follow them through the overarching plot. The current Otaku-inclusive event train is as follows:
The Collector -> Decay -> Return to Zenar -> Remnants -> Andromeda Spire -> Leviathan Core -> Fields of Enyalius -> Light in DarknessNote, therefore, that choices have consequences in these games. Characters can die in these events if their HP goes less than 0 (in some circumstances), and therefore will not be allowed back into the chain after that event, and players who set stories in their character's 'future' may stipulate that a 'dead' character not participate because in their character's canon, that character is dead. This does not happen often. - On Character Knock-Out:
How to be Knocked-Out in an HC Event: -Be attacked for more damage than you have health for any HP level higher than 3 HP. See below for 3 HP or less. --Additional: if your character is knocked out, they lose their transformation. It takes 5 MP to transform again. -Note: There are items in the Fate Exchange (the Crone's Blessing; the Crone's Nod) that can be used (either instantly or after battle) by the character or another party member to revive a character from being Knocked Out; otherwise characters will be relying on the Revive magical ability from another ally. -Time IRL will not revive a KO character. The only time a KO character will be revived with waiting would be if over 6 hours of in-game time has passed or it is the end of the Event and the Crone is involved. --I do not intend to change the time rule so long as player characters have the ability to reverse KO for a cost, as it brings another level of character interaction into play; the option to revive or not to revive (yeah, it is their character playing god) is an interesting consideration for character development, as are the consequences that are the reactions of other characters involved – not only the unconscious person, but other team members. The potential bonding or conflict caused by such decisions is welcome in an otherwise primarily characters-versus-environment setting.
- On Character Death:
How to die in an HC Event: -Be attacked when you have less than 3 HP for greater than 3 points of damage. If you had 4 or more HP and were struck by an attack for 5+ DMG, you will be reduced to zero and knocked out; If you have 3 or less HP and are struck by an attack of 4+, your character can die. If you are KO and are struck with an additional attack, your character can die. --Additional: if your character is knocked out, they lose their transformation. It takes 5 MP to transform again. -Note: There is an item in the Fate Exchange for 100 points (the Crone's Stamp) that, when faced with the death-dealing blow, will teleport your character back to their home planet at the very last second, sparing them from death but ejecting them from the event.
What happens when your character dies in an HC Event: When killed in the KO state, characters will die immediately if attacked while knocked out. If they have under 3 HP when attacked and killed, they can post a death post as their character is conscious and can react to their own death.
In the event of a character death in a HC event, the character cannot be involved in any future HC Event because in this timeline, they are dead. Similarly, if other characters who adhere to this universe set a roleplay after that HC event, time-wise, they can stipulate that 'dead' characters do not play as they have accepted that character's death into their history. This isn't a set-in-stone, no-exceptions rule that must be followed - it is optional for the storyline creator, but players of dead characters should not take offense to that character being excluded as the death was adopted into other characters' storylines and players are expected to adhere to character profile information in all non-AU storylines.
Why include Character Death as an option in Hardcore Events? Character death is never a near certainty unless a character actively puts themselves into that situation. It either takes a lot of terrible choices or a lot of bad luck for a character to be Knocked Out, let alone die, as the characters are to be functioning as a team and, if relationships are fostered, willing to protect each other and help each other out.
The chance of dying stresses the need of teamwork within the group, of forging relationship with between characters who would rush to a character’s aide or leap forward to protect them when put in a position wherein death is possible; as death would not come suddenly (though being knocked unconscious may), there will always be a possibility for a character’s friend or ally to step forward to save them before it's too late. As to why a player would risk a character they have put much time and effort into in a game wherein their character would die, I would return why not? No risk, no reward – no guts, no glory. With the statement above about how hard it actually is to get KO’d (let alone die), putting that on the table just ups the anti during battle sequences. And beyond that, what is the risk? If a player would rather not have their character play in these events where the character could die and the consequence would be that that character could no longer play in those events, you’re already “killing” your character without letting them go out with a bang or affect the lives of their teammates in their passing – they would simply fade away from the story, as opposed to living and fighting alongside them, making friends and deepening relationships, perhaps to eventually die dramatically and be remembered by these characters for events to come. If you’re going to go out, go out with a bang, rather than a whimper.
Specifics for the Concatenation HC Event Series:
- These events will be considered primarily Advanced*****. This is different from usual - pay attention. You should strive to follow the 100-word post count requirements of an Advanced board (attempting proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are necessary), and your character profile needs to be approved as Advanced for this event. Players may ignore the 100-word post rule only during battle sequences, to keep the battle flowing quickly in regards to play time. When tallying posts during this event, your post will be counted as either relaxed or advanced based on word count, rather than on profile category. As profiles are required, posts are tallied in the full fashion, rather than the usual 1/2 count for non-profile-required events.
- This Event is Roleplay Section Multifaceted: There will be elements from all sections of our roleplay boards within it; it will last for exactly one month (Event), requires a profile approval (Profiles), posts can be counted towards the month's challenge or contest (Challege), and will involve Dungeon Crawler Elements (Games) as well as live-events over Skype (Live-Chat RPs). More on the Game elements later. Being such, participating actively in this event can really pull in the RP points ^^
- An Activity Rule is in effect. By signing up below, you agree to follow all GC and RP Rules alongside the following activity rule: At least one post is required every 48 hours. Failure to post at least once within those 48 hours will result in your character disappearing mysteriously, to be recovered by the remaining heroes at the end of the roleplay. (They won't die, but I won't let their unresponsiveness slow down the game). If you have an unexpected (but announced) LOA during this event that lasts less than 3 days, your character will be carried with the team. If the LOA lasts more than 3 days, the normal disappearance protocol will go into effect. Additional Note: characters have up to 48 hours to reply to a post directed to them; if a player is taking a while to respond, their character is not to be negatively affected - no powerplaying will be allowed, and this includes having a character remark or notice that the other has not responded, as that manipulates a character's personality traits (refusing to recognize someone is a negative quality and only that character's player may determine how long they took to respond to a question).
- Random Events may occur.
- Skype use is highly recommended. For the game elements in this roleplay, a quick question/answer method is best and Skype is the preferred chat system. Skype is free and doesn't require personal information to use. Once the event gets underway I create a Skype group to be used as the OOC thread for the event; add me to your contacts with your GC name and I'll add you to the group. There will be a forum-based OOC board for this event (once sign-ups are closed, this board becomes the OOC), so while it is highly recommended, if you are uncomfortable with using skype information will still be handed out through this board if necessary. My skype username is Kyralih
Dungeon Crawler Game Notes
- The dungeon crawler aspects of the game are all over the place! That means we'll be using maps, as well as HP and MP counters, as well as Strength, Dexterity, Mind, and Perception skill points! See this for an Example (don't worry, lol, everything on page two and three of that document was all at the end of the game
Characters who have already made and used their profiles in past events may make small edits in their point distribution (remember to add the events you played in to your character profile to unlock more character building points!) and any changes to magic skill costs as necessary; skype me to make changes! * irrelevant for this event.
- New players (ilu come play!) will need to build their character from scratch; we'll start the process together when you sign up with your approved profile! Skype me!
- Big Game Rule: You will be held to your accepted profile. If you use any item during the game that was not listed in your profile, I'm throwing a red flag and having you rework that post. Do not "find" anything I have not told you (over skype or PM) that you have found. Stuff's important in here, and I'm keeping a tight reign on it XD. Battle wounds and such will be decided by roll via me, so no fake wounds or overdramatizing attacks and whatnot. Attacks will follow the same rule - I roll for everything. Everything. Using random rolls makes Godmodding and Powerplaying nearly impossible, so that's why I do it the way I do ^^
- Rules for items purchased at The Fate Exchange will follow the rules outlined in that OSA-P Store.
- Game Mechanics:
Stat Check Perception Checks are randomly rolled via a d12; if a character's perception meets or exceeds the roll, they succeed in noticing the hidden detail / able to see the connections and logically solve a tricky problem.
Dexterity Checks are based on Stat Points; if person A has more than double the dexterity of person B, person A automatically hits person B. If person A has less than half the dexterity of person B, person A will automatically miss person B. Persons A / B can be a PC or an NPC/Enemy.
Strength Checks are based on Stat Points and come up randomly in storylines; primary use is in carrying other senshi. It has decreased since the first event from STR 3+ to carry a person to STR 2+ to carry a person. It may be used in the future during scripted physical attacks/stalemates between combatants.
Attacking Magical Attack: Deduct MP cost from Character Stats, whether hit or miss. Roll: Hit or Miss. Roll 4+ for a hit, 3- is a miss. Sneak Attack: Perception Check; if passes, additional points of damage / additional status effect enacted. Crowded Areas: If a character misses their target and other targets are in the vicinity of intended target, a roll will be made for the other targets to see if they, instead, were hit. Roll order determined by position closest to target.
Damage - Physical Attack Roll: base roll, d6 Bonuses: --Weapon Bonus: +X for using a specific weapon, X determined in Weapon box of character creation. --Strength Bonus: +STR
Damage - Magical Attack - Costs MP, regardless of whether it hits or misses Roll: base roll, d6 Bonuses: --Magic Bonus: +(1/2 MP Cost) for using a specific magical attack and hitting the target --Control Bonus: +CTRL
Healing - Magical - Costs MP, regardless of whether it hits or misses Roll: base roll, d6 Bonuses: --Magic Bonus: +(1/2 MP Cost) for using a healing spell and hitting the target --Control Bonus: +CTRL
Multi-Target Magic Attack/Healing Calculate Damage/Healing Split the damage/healing evenly for the number of targets attempted Roll for whether it hits each target If miss, that damage/healing is just lost, not transferred.
Shielding - Magical Shield Outlined on Character Sheet
Armor Bonuses: --Armor Bonus: -Y based on armor; senshi base armor is 3 for both physical and magical attacks aimed at them.
Damage - Ultimate Magical Attack Roll 2+ for a hit Base roll
- Specifics for This Event:
Background Information As other HC Events, this series will take place in the Galaxy Cauldron Crystal Tokyo "Canon", which means it can be added to Otaku Character Profiles as an official part of their history. That being said:
- The timeline is several hundred years after Crystal Tokyo was formed. Chibi Usa is now known as "Lady Serenity" (or Young Lady) and has taken on the mantle of Sailor Moon, and the Quartet have awakened as her guardian Senshi. Earth is open to visiting senshi from other systems; once they arrive they go through a little ceremony that walks them through the do's and don't's of staying on Earth and such. But none of this matters as far as our Story goes.
- Time-wise, this event happens during the HC Event Remnants. Within that event, the characters that were being played experienced a 1 - 2 day adventure and later found out that it was actually 5 months in the time of the rest of the Galaxy. During that time, Chaos advanced and started a Sailor War, wherein the entire galaxy was simultaneously attacked by Chaotic forces. Tens of Thousands of planets were attacked all at once by generals of the Chaos Prince's army, backed by creatures and shadows of chaos that furthered their schemes. In terms of strength, think the "generals" rather than the head-honcho in the Sailor Moon arcs ((i.e., the Shitennou, or Black Moon Clan, or Witches 5, as opposed to Metallia, Death Phantom, or Pharaoh 90)); however, a simultaneous attack by these enemies was alarming and many inexperienced senshi died, creating an immediate imbalance in the universe between Cosmos (not the senshi, but the general force of nature) and Chaos.
This event will take place during those 5 months. Subsequent events in this series will continue in a timeline parallel to the original event line; consequences of that first event line will continue to affect these events, but not vice versa as their story took them in a grander direction than this. what with their personally pissing off the Chaos Prince by a) being the Solar System Senshi and b) having the gall to his well-thought-out trap on the Remnants planet. Please note that, this being the case, any death in this series of HC events will be permanent until the end of the events when Achelois makes her deal and revives them all. So you could totally die but don't be too bummed because they'll pop back up at the end of these. Or near the end of these. Depending on how the timelines jive.
- The setting is far away from Crystal Tokyo, in an area of the Galaxy that is well out of Neo Queen Serenity's influence. And here is where we get a little complicated so hold on to your hat and mark you questions if you have any.
Miscellaneous Lore that your character (and you) don't need to know but I felt should be explained. The picture shows the rough mapping of each "Mother's" Realm of Influence - that is, each Sailor Senshi of Sailor Moon's caliber who ascended the throne to become Queen and has given birth to a daughter whom will someday become a senshi in her own right. Each has her own court of Senshi who can donate their power to her, each is considered the Shining Star of their sections. There are other Sailor Princesses within her region (Sailor Senshi of systems wherein there are multiple senshi who can donate their power to her), but of them, she is the most powerful and so takes the most responsibility for the overall safety of her sector. During the current Sailor War, each Queen is protected in her Palace, and so long as she prays for peace and her Sailor Crystal shines in response (yup, each have a Silver Crystal-esque type crystal, but Usagi's is the most pure and powerful of them all)(thus her area being largest) the pressure of chaos pressing in on her borders is held back. Without her constant attention, her answering force to that of darkness, the chaos agents within her borders would become ever stronger. The opposite of this is what happened with Enyalius - when she was tainted by Chaos, she was reborn as a Princess of Chaos, and thus able to press back against Cosmos. As her pressure was so unexpected, it caught the Queens of Cosmos off guard and off balance, and it was for that reason that the scales tipped so dangerously in Chaos's favor. On the map you'll see a few arrows - you just need to note that the Pink Circle designates the area of space under NQS's influence - that is to say, it is not her Kingdom, but it shows how far her reach is when she uses the Silver Crystal to its full extent to press Chaos back during the War. You'll note the few arrows in there to mark where the planets the HC Events have gone ((except for Remnants - I forgot to mark that planet, woops)). Other circles show the really rough sketching of the other Queen's sections - note that they're all definitely smaller than NQS's because she is the brightest star in the galaxy and strongest of them all, but still, these Queens are HBIC of their own area. Our story takes place within the Red Circle. The Red Arrow points to the court of the Queen of that sector; the yellow arrow points to where our story will take place. Note: The red circle is rather large, and is rather far away from NQS's circle. Additional Note: The little planet this will take place on is very much near the border of that sector - in the "sticks". - Quote :
- First Note About Characters for This Event:
No Canon Characters allowed. No Otaku from NQS's Region are allowed. No Otaku from any Region but Red is allowed. Within the Red region, planets closer to the yellow arrow will be assumed as home planets for these senshi No Otaku with any connections to NQS's Region is allowed.
"Sailor Moon who?" "Neo Queen huh?" "Crystal What?" is exactly what we're going for here, not that those terms will even come up at all in these. Our first story in this series is called "Conscription."Which, as the name suggests, means that your character does not really have a choice in joining this adventure. The Red Sector is ruled over by Queen Zhi, who is new to her throne, and her Guardian Senshi have been badly shaken by the sudden onslaught of Chaos Agents all over their region. Calmed by Sailor Jupiter ((yes, communications go that far, go with it XD)) they get their plan together and start contacting every senshi within their region to organize the defense and war now at hand. They put out the call for volunteers, but they find themselves overwhelmed at an alarming rate; they soon had little choice in the matter and had to start conscripting senshi into service. The strongest are sent to the more populated regions, where these Guardian Senshi believe they will most be needed to combat the strongest of foes before the most damage was dealt, but as times grew worse, they had to start picking even the outliers and pulling them into the war. *Note; Chaos primarily targeted NQS's region to dethrone her first, so while the Chaos War reached this far, it is not so nearly as bad here as there. However, with senshi being defeated left and right, Chaos's hold is growing fast. In this conscription, not even the least experienced Senshi were spared. - Quote :
- Second Note about Characters for this Event:
Powerful/Older Senshi need not apply. If you had any battle experience they would've sent you to the front lines, not where our story is taking place.
In regards to experience: 14 - 22 years old 3 or less years Senshi experience since transformation 1 or less exposure to Metallia-level Chaos Entities 1 - 2 Attacks total (based on experience, that's totally reasonable; think season one senshi, with their standard go-to's. Your character can add more attacks to their repertoire as they level up! You can include these level-up attacks in your profile, but please list their original attacks first. You can also choose a level for the others to kick in at, if you'd like, or we can discuss that together; typically, attacks can be added at level 3, 5, 8, and/or 10. Sailor [Noun]. Please choose a senshi name that denotes your senshi's physical planet or star power base, rather than an abstract idea. Also, please select a noun, rather than an adjective. The goal here is to create a team that would parallel Sailor Moon's team in the first arc ((but not with necessarily the same stuff - I'm clear as mud, I know)) Just like - senshi who draw their power from a planet (or star) and whose magical attacks/abilities reflect some single(or double like with Venus) alignment with an element or some other type of force.
I'm aiming for a party of equals. What about males? Males totally allowed, but they need to have a Sailor Crystal. Think Prince Endymion, or like Mamoru with a Tuxedo-Mask like alter-ego. Rather than full-on senshi abilities, as Naoko said guys can't be senshi, consider instead passive abilities or abilities that require an item to work. Example, Mamoru's healing abilities stem from the Golden Crystal and he has the pure-energy attack "La Smoking Bomber"; your male character's abilities may be elemental in nature, and can manifest when using a certain item or phrase. Please note that, just like with Tuxedo Mask, their offensive magical abilities may be requested to be lower than senshi abilities ((i.e. I may request a lower CTRL stat)). ((but, like, a bow and arrow that he could charge with wind energy? Totes cool and also totes cool. This is what your character would know:If they are from a "developed" planet, one where space-travel is the norm, they would have heard of the Sailor War. How they feel about it is up to you/their personality. If they are from a "non-developed" planet, where space-travel has not been created yet and there hasn't been exposure to alien races, they would not have heard of this Sailor War until conscripted. Your planet has not been hit by Chaos during this War. When making your character history, feel free to flesh out their homeworld as much as you can, or, if you're not comfortable with that, simple generalities would suffice. Other standard history req's apply. Remember: Sailor Senshi costumes do not all need to follow the Solar Sailor Senshi's design. So long as it's got a Sailor Collar on it, it can be a Sailor Senshi uniform. XD I'm not saying I won't allow the standard uniform or anything, just reminding that variety is totally welcome. For your RP Sample:Set the scene for being Conscripted. Generally, the events of being conscripted go as follows: - A powerful senshi (a Guardian Senshi for the "red" court) lands on your character's planet literally right in front of your senshi ((they honed in on your Sailor Crystal's signature)), state that by Order of Queen Zhi, you are hereby Conscripted, and will be serving in the Chaos War in defense of planets within Chaos's thrall. You are given very little time to prepare, and then transform and follow this Senshi into space - probably flying for the first time ever. The character that will collect you is named Sailor Jin. Her uniform is yellow with orange embroidery work and hemming, and resembles a knee-length cheongsam with a sailor collar overtop the higher neckline of the dress. She has black hair pinned in an up-do and has golden-colored eyes and eye-makeup. She wears slippers that stay tight to her feet; she does not have gloves, but rather has orange ribbons tied around her wrists. When the RP begins, these new, young, conscripted senshi from various planets will be assembled onto one planet, told to clear it, and then promptly abandoned to their duty. They may or may not get a visit by the Crone. *Note! For these events, the Crone Stamp will not be purchasable as you are already guaranteed your character is not dead-for-good. - Disclaimer wrote:
- Oookay, so only through talking with Mercury on skype did I realize I need to add a giant disclaimer to this event.
It'll be neat for them to discover it themselves! It all makes sense within the confines of the story! ._. oh yeah wait they should probably know that
Disclaimer: Concatenation is an HC Event series consisting of 4 month-long events to take place during August (Conscription), October(???), January(you think i'd release their titles?), and March(nope).
- Signing up for this event actually signs you up for the next four, or until your character dies. You don't have to participate in them - dropping out would just kill your character (until event 4).
- Not signing up for this event may preclude you from the next four events.
- If your character dies during any of the next four events, they will be brought back during the 4th event, but they (and, by extension, you, the player) will not be able to play in any events between the time of their death and their resurrection in the 4th event, even should you (the player) create another character to play with.
This is not the same situation as in NQS's Territory. As written above, Zhi's court is not nearly as experienced or organized as NQS's court I mean they don't have Mercury and Endymion to create their communication system, or Jupiter's experience to know how to run the show, or NQS's steadfast belief in that everything will be okay - they are in stage 5 freak-out right now, and they are suffering for it. They're not being hit nearly as hard as NQS's territory, but their territory is smaller, and thus has less senshi within it that could volunteer, let alone that would or did volunteer. Less Chaos is having a greater effect there as they scramble to keep it away and keep their Queen safe.
As stated, things are drawn so thin that they've resorted to conscripting senshi to send them off to war on planets those senshi haven't even heard of, whether they know how to fight Chaos or not. The experienced ones are being sent on riskier, higher-stakes missions and expecting them to not only make it out alive, but also to succeed and report to be sent on the next risky high-stakes mission; with the less-experienced senshi (like ours), they're tossing them into a group based generally on the stellar neighbourhood and leaving them on a planet to clear it of chaos, wherein they will either succeed, die trying, or abandon their mission and be hunted down for abandoning their mission. Yes, they would take the resources to find deserters over sending those resources to cleanse the next planet - they're panicking. They're new, they're desperate and confused and terribly afraid that if they can't do this, if they can't keep Chaos at bay and senshi following their orders, their best friend will die because of it. If one group abandons duty and gets away scott-free, they all might do it and then Xhi is dead, and the rest of her sector with her.
So annywayyy, what that means for our group is that if one person dies, there literally is no one available to take her spot, so they move on with a lesser number and keep trying.
As it stands, I'm really trying to keep deaths out of this first one. Everyone should survive Conscription, barring catastrophic accidents, so really this only primarily concerns Event 3 for characters that die in event 2, and the first half of Event 4, for those that didn't survive 3 or 2.
But tadaa disclaimer done! If you would like to back out, that's totally fine. Otherwise keep those profiles going xD
Additional Note: I've got a secret Sailor Princess plan in the works, so we can actually do combined attacks and etc. to beat big baddies this time around and potentially level up in groups and stuff; our characters will not automatically be included in this "group" as they probably won't naturally be from the same system, but I wanted to throw that out there as something to keep in mind excite hypeAdditional additional note: Some may be worried about needing a healer senshi on board and may feel like they have to 'take one for the team' and take that healer role now that Achelois and wonderful-backup Sedna aren't there to heal people. Just wanted to say that I've got a healer for this one so play the role you want to play. If you honestly want to play a healer, go ahead xD If you honestly want to play a defender, go ahead, and if you want to play a tiny little potential-badass-in-the-making, do it. XD These people don't get to pick their teammates, so it's totally okay if we end up with an imbalance xD Remember!
- Pay attention to the story - read every post so you don't miss anything. Major Plot Points will be delivered through me - I will announce, for example, when we find objects/people, and what things look like. I will arrange for the baddies to be fought, and I'll handle the combat system (everyone chooses their own attacks and everything, I just roll to see if those attacks hit, and see how effective those attacks are against the bad guys, and rolling a die to see how much damage they do (if any XD the 0 is allowed and causes the attack to miss its target)). Needless to say: If your don't pay attention to the story, your character's reactions / ideas / etc. may be out of place, and will be treated as such by other characters. Read Carefully.
- Post at least once every 48 hours - Failure to post at least once within those 48 hours will result in your character disappearing mysteriously, to be recovered by the remaining heroes at the end of the roleplay. (They won't die, but I won't let their unresponsiveness slow down the game). If you have an unexpected (but announced) LOA during this event that lasts less than 3 days, your character will be carried with the team. If the LOA lasts more than 3 days, the normal disappearance protocol will go into effect.
- Watch out for Random Events - if the majority of players are active in the Skype Thread I may spring Random Events on players; these will always be announced in the Skype conversation, where it will be open for questions/comments/concerns, and will always come with caveats for those who cannot actively post on the board within the time period allotted. Instructions need be followed, else consequences wordlessly accepted for not following the specific directions.
- This is an Advanced Event! All posts outside battle are required to be 100 words or more!
And, finally, while bringing in side-storylines is okay, this roleplay's main story will end on August 31st, win, lose, or draw. I suggest keeping noses to the grindstone and keep moving forward to make it to the ending battle before it's too late!Event Begins August 1st! If you have any questions about this event (any part, anything) ask it here or in our Skype OOC Chat (or skype me directly if you're afraid it will be lost in the mess!) and I'll respond as quickly as possible. - There was no time to talk in space, despite their growing number as Jin left them for hours on end and inevitably returned with yet another senshi. With each addition, however, things didn't exactly look better - everyone looked young and inexperienced, despite what scowls some tried to show. Sailor Jin made little effort to ease their mute concerns, offering not one word of comfort or support, her motions increasingly jittery or erratic. Occasionally, while flying - she wasn't extremely helpful in teaching how to fly, either; while it was fairly obvious that deep down, she cared, on the surface her nerves had gotten the better of her, and she tended to be sharp towards them - she would put her hand to her ear and they would overhear snippets of hushed and hurried conversation.
There were over ten of them when the finally motioned them all to follow her, and they quickly descended through the outer system of a lone star, then towards its habitable zone, and finally spotted and honed in on a planet therein. As they approached, things looked relatively "normal" - clear, with a good amount of dark water spread throughout, with dark green land in the north and south of its equator. They headed south, Sailor Jin following some unheard set of instructions, and started falling closer and closer down towards an enormous set of trees, black water inking its way throughout:
Swamplands.
They landed and were immediately set-upon by blood-sucking insects, the humidity oozing around them like some living creature, keeping the uncomfortable heat close to their bodies. Before them lay a dense cluster of trees, old but full of life, wet and green, their roots arching above the soggy ground in places. Moss grew on everything, vines hung from everything... Sailor Jin"This is it. The base of the Chaotic Forces of this planet is somewhere in that swamp." She turned, looking over the group. "Your mission is to find it and exterminate it, at whatever cost. This planet is inhabited - if you fail, more will die, as this planet's senshi did. I have two things to help you - a compass geared towards the Chaos Entity, and a Communicator - you will use it when you've finished to get directions to the next planet that needs you." "Which of you will take them?" |

| You will use it when you've finished to get directions to the next planet that needs you.So this wasn't the only mission that Sailor Aldrin was conscripted into. This planet's sailor soldier had died some time ago too, making her feel horribly confident about her own fate being a sailor soldier with near zero real experience. She almost laughed. She was dragged into helping this sorry place when Planet Aldrin was now in terrible danger because she was gone. She was being forced to save this sorry place while her home was without a doubt on track to being pulverized by space debris or worse by foreign invaders like Sailor Jin. Sailor Aldrin's blue jelly skin wobbled and sagged in the humidity. She didn't even notice the swamp dwelling bugs who would likely ignore her odd composition for the blood of others. It took some time for her skin to become regularly rigid. Still, nothing could serve to fix her mood. She seemed empty, not happy, sad or even angry. She was simply defeated. After all, Sailor Aldrin was one of the few who actually rejected being conscripted. Her subsequent fight with Sailor Jin was entirely one-sided and so traumatic that she couldn't remember a single bit of it. All that remained of their bout was the large crack in the left lense of her glasses. Like the others, she didn't speak of her recent experience. She was too ashamed and too confused. Her entire life she was led to believe she was special. The Apols, cute little jelly-like people who dwelled on her planet, worshipped her as their savior. Now she was standing with many people who were just like her... well, like her but their forms were more rigid and their skin tones were odd shades of brown. She wasn't special at all and now her life was going to be wasted in someone else's struggle. She wanted to ask Sailor Jin why she wasn't staying to help whatever cause this was but she didn't. She hated to admit it but she was scared of the woman. Just rejecting the conscription had cost her so much. She didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to her people. She could only imagine how scared they were, seeing her taken away like that. "Someone else should take them," she said in a defeated voice. "I want as little to do with this as possible." |

| Sailor Chalybs was doing her best to not start hyperventilate in her suit in panic, though on the outside, the armor plated and helmet covered guardian was silent and mostly still. Only her eyes were semi visible through the visor that guarded her face, the translucent glass flickering with readings and numbers. The entire trip over was one confusing, scary thing after another. She was surrounded by aliens that exposed their bare skin willingly to the elements, to her disdain and wonder. They were apparently fellow "senshi" here to fight this Chaos thing. She'd met people off planet before in her travels, but even compared to that, this group was strange. At least her suit was keeping her safe from this disgusting swamp environment. Her boots sank into the bog, but she felt none of it, as always. The buzzing of terrifying insects hovered around her, but they found no purchase on her metal exo skin. Who knew what kind of bacteria they carried? Chalybs almost shuddered at the thought. At least she was breathing cleaned air instead of this humid bog oxygen. At Sailor Jin's offer of the compass and communicator, Chalybs made no move to take anything. She had no trust in whatever technology that was, so she'd stick with her own sensors. She'd follow them, but she didn't have to like it. Right now, she was just on another mercenary job. With no pay at all. Against her will. On some planet where a senshi already died. Okay, this wasn't calming her nerves at all... "Stay cool, SAM..." she thought. "Just keep up the appearance of being in control and no one will doubt you."She forced her shoulders to relax and her heart rate to drop before speaking. "Hm. I don't want it either." Her voice was deepened as it passed through her helmet's filters, adding to the effect of her being calm. Nailed it.

| As their little group grew, Celestal became more and more worried. What was the threat that required this many senshi and why did so many of them look so....inexperienced? When Sailor Jin had come to get her, she had figured she would be one of the few inexperienced senshi, a part of her looking forward to the opportunity to learn from a more experienced senshi...but this...this wasn't good at all. When the senshi with blue skin admitted that she wanted as little to do with this as possible, Celestal nearly gasped in shock. How could she not? While Celestal wasn't exactly happy about this entire thing, she was a senshi and her duty was to protect not only the people of her planet and her star system, but to protect the innocent from Chaos. It was why they were born. How could she not? It simply boggled the young senshi's mind. As the senshi with the helmet also stated that she didn't want it, Celestal made up her mind. Gathering her courage to speak infront of the group, she stepped forward slightly. "Sailor Jin, I will take the items if no one else wants to....I mean if that's alright with everyone..." Way to sound confident Kalila, she scolded herself. Couldn't she get anything right? |

| Sailor Xtal-Diamante looked around the area, crystal eyes wide, wondering what exactly she was looking at. These were not the rocks of home, tumbling about amid the dusty and arid ground. This was... what was this strange feeling? Her rough skin felt odd, coated in something. The young girl had never felt moisture before, not humidity. It curled her already curly hair even more, the wisps rising up and coiling tighter. Xtal-Diamante was only familiar with the oil that flowed across the surface of her carbon planet. This place was so intensely different. That didn't even begin to scratch the surface of all these other two-legged... things. Sailor Jin had been enough of a start, something she had never seen before, but there were so many that kind of looked like that one but kind of didn't. During the long flight and even now, they were vibrating in that same strange way. At least it felt less unsettling now, in this form, than it had when she was just herself on her planet. Still, some of the words jumbled about in her head. It was hard for her to figure out what belonged to her and what belonged to everyone else. The small insects buzzed around her, but they almost immediately realized that they could not find what they sought from this one. Xtal-Diamante didn't mind their presence, particularly as she could not be tormented by their bites. She liked the soft feeling of their gentle vibrations, fluttering from their rapid wing motions. So strange to think that now she, too, had wings. Sometimes. Someone was offering to take the things that the vibrant and stoic recruiter offered. For a moment Xtal-Diamante moved to hold out her own hands, thinking that the reluctant acceptance had been from herself, but realized when she glanced over at the one wearing violet and sparkles that it was actually that one who responded to Sailor Jin. Xtal-Diamante tucked her red-gloved hands back behind her back, hidden by her masses of hair. It felt so strange to stand here, waiting. And what did this one mean by "Chaos"? Or "inhabited"? Everything had been so much easier on her own planet, where she belonged. |

| While Alshain wasn't exactly sure what she had expected when she joined the small group of senshi in space, which grew to be more than ten by the time it was all done, she certainly hadn't expected so many to appear so close to her own age. While they traveled through space, a novel experience for herself and it appeared many others, she wondered if they were to be trained to handle the enemy chaos in this "Sailor War" as Jin had called it. However, they soon found themselves on a planet, in a swamp, being instructed and given equipment. She didn't like this, none of them knew each other, knew the abilities of others, or if they would even listen to each other. If some of them had been forced to be here like it sounded for the one who spoke first, what was to keep them from leaving as soon as Jin left? What was to keep her from leaving? She had hoped that whatever this was, she would be able to be done with it quickly and return home, where she had other issues that greatly needed to be dealt with. But when Jin said they would be heading to the next place after this, Alshain realized that the road of ahead of them was growing longer than she had anticipated. She stood, arms crossed against her chest, eyes closed as she sighed inwardly. She anticipated many problems for their ragtag group. After two had declared they'd rather not have the responsibility of the items, a third spoke up in contrast though she seemed unsure. Alshain decided to speak the question buzzing at the front of her mind, " It appears that you intend to leave shortly, would it not be beneficial to ensure that this team can work together before departing?" |

| From the moment they had left Dies Nox, Hemera had been paranoid that at some point Sailor Jin would ask Nyx if she was sure she wanted to tag along too, exposing her first lie ever to her twin sister. But of course she didn’t. The senshi was desperate; it was obvious from how frazzled she looked, how curt her words were, and that she’d simply taken the opportunity to snag one more senshi as a blessing. Sailor Jin’s nervousness was infectious, and with Hemera already being somewhat jittery on any normal day, this made her even more anxious than usual. There was a silver lining to all this, and that was the senshi had taught them how to fly. They could fly! How come she never knew this?! She might or might not have gotten scolded when she got too excited and started flying circles around the older warrior. They were nearing their destination now, and Hemera’s wings flapped quickly in anticipation. She’d never seen another planet before. And she knew this wasn’t an adventure, that it was not fun, that some people among them were legitimately upset about being forced to risk their lives—because that was what they were doing, she had to keep reminding herself—and yet it was hard not to feel at least a little bit excited. Her dream of leaving her planet and seeing the world was finally coming true, and she got to have her sister along for the ride, too. She felt a stab of guilt on her stomach remembering how she’d managed that, and focused on the task at hand. As they landed on the swamp, she had to admit this was less exciting, especially with all the bugs that made her keep swatting at them. The heat didn’t bother her—she hardly noticed it—so at least there was that consolation. She listened to Sailor Jin’s instructions, trying to focus. Chaotic Forces. Right… she’d encountered one. That ended well, but the cost was great. And now they were responsible for other people’s lives, too? At least their number was big. Last time it was just her and Nyx, so certainly with this little… army, they would be fine. As Sailor Jin offered them the items, the first two answers were negative, and Hemera resisted the urge to shake them and tell them to lighten up. Apparently, that could be considered rude. One stepped up to accept them, but she seemed unsure. Hemera didn’t care much either way; she was more curious about where they were. “Sailor Jin, which planet are we on? And do you know what kind of Chaotic Force we’re looking for?” She bounced slightly on the balls of her feet, eager to start the adventure battle. |

| Amarachius wasn't exactly sure what they would be facing. He had been able to get the truth out of Jin when they were fighting, but it wasn't all that clear. And he wasn't actually all that acquainted with other life forms - oh wait, let's say that truly: he had never seen aliens before, had never thought of life above the stars, or maybe he had, he wasn't quite sure. When he was a child, perhaps. The past years had been... busy. "You should take it." He finally said to the girl offering. "It would be stupid to fight for items when I'm sure we'll have our hands busy quickly enough." He shrugged, a frown creasing his features, even if he didn't particularly feel anything. The bugs were annoying of course, but swatting them would make him lose strength and stamina for nothing at all. He looked at the girls, then the one who had voiced her concerns, then at Jin. "I'm sure even you can see how small our chances are if half of them don't want to be here." |

| Journeying with others turned out to be quieter - and scarier - than Sailor Valdis would have ever expected. When she had thought of traveling to other worlds, those thoughts had been followed by adventure, intrigue and numerous fun and exciting things to see. But this journey had left no time for adventure or fun. All she had to comfort her was silence and fear. Her heart had not stopped racing since she had left her own planet. Seeing Valdis from afar had been an experience she wasn't sure she enjoyed. To dream of leaving was one thing, but being forced to leave was entirely another. She couldn't help but to send another petulant glare at Sailor Jin, but she didn't blame the woman. Not really. Desperation clung to the air, thick and nearly palpable. The group she had joined kept growing. It was strange to be around so many people at one time. She rarely spent time with anyone but her plants and her grandmother. Having more than ten people gathered together left her feeling a little uneasy. But there were so many different beings in all kinds of styles of clothing. Some even had beautifully colorful skin! Valdis couldn't keep herself from staring and wondering. Despite herself, she couldn't help but to feel a little of that excitement she had been hoping for. It was hidden behind the heavy presence of fear and anxiety, but it was there all the same. She tried to cling to that feeling, wanting to focus on the bright spot of light in all of this. As they landed, Valdis couldn't help but to feel thankful to see so much green - so unlike home, but similar in a lot of ways too. The air felt heavy and little tiny things kept trying to poke her, but it was good to feel the presence of plants. They seemed healthy too, which only made her feel better. More at ease than she had been since leaving her home. She leaned down to touch one of the bushes growing near her, and smiled at it. But her attention was taken away from the green little life and brought back onto the reason she had been brought here. At whatever cost, Sailor Valdis repeated silently. She shivered despite the overwhelming heat. Valdis looked from one person to the other as they spoke up about whether to take the items or not. Though one girl offered to take them both, Valdis decided to put in her opinion. "I wouldn't mind looking at the compass," she said. Her curiosity had made her speak up despite her unease at being with so many people - what if the compass had different directions than back home? She had to see it. But perhaps it was seen as selfish to take it? "We could switch off every once in a while too, if you'd like." |

| Swatting at a bug buzzing too close to her hair, Cosima was growing anxious to finish their job here and it hadn't even officially begun yet. At home, scouts were typically sent out to examine and check enemy or unknown territory if they could. They were not sent blindly into an enemy occupied area without some sense of direction. It wasn't until their journey here, Cosima had begun to realize how desperate and disorganized things truly were as it had taken as much as one quick glance at everyone on the team to see how inexperienced every one of them was. Her concerns were only reaffirmed once more as Sailor Jin began to instruct them of the situation and Cosima grimaced at the mention of the death of the planet's Sailor Senshi. If this was how Sailor Senshi 'prepared' for battles then it was difficult to see a happy ending in any of their futures. Sailor Jin continued unfazed as she warned them of the consequences of their potential failure and more than likely oblivious of the effect her words were having on Cosima - and possibly the others as well. If it was her father in Sailor Jin's place, he would've given them some sort of encouragement or advice. But father isn't here. Cosima reminded herself as she blinked back her tears. She had struggled to keep her composure ever since she had left her planet but it was becoming increasingly hard to do so now as the reality of the situation continued to become more clear. She was alone and surrounded by incompetent weaklings that were attempting to play at war while her own home was left completely defenseless. There was no storm that could even come close to matching her inner rage and frustration. She tried to focus her full attention on Jin, who pulled out some sort of equipment that she stated allowed them to communicate with her and another that was capable of allowing them to track sources of Chaos. Both tools would be useful and not leave them completely blind. Things were beginning to look up...barely. As Jin held the items for someone to take, two in the group immediately declined and Cosima had to resist rolling her eyes. Pathetic. These were the people who she was forced to place her trust in for the upcoming days, weeks, and possibly even months to come? If they were too scared to take a small compass could they even wield a sword into battle? Cosima was almost afraid of the answer. She was nearly ready to take the items herself when another, a girl significantly paler and smaller than her, stepped forward and offered to take the items from Sailor Jin. Cosima was grateful that at least someone on this team wasn't completely pitiful. Slightly impressed, Cosima nodded in approval as she stepped forward, "If you feel that you are the most capable to handle one of these items then do so. I personally have no objections." She replied bluntly but her expression was soft, almost encouraging. If this girl wasn't fully equipped to handle the items then she would simply have to learn to do so soon. Her father always said one couldn't learn without taking the first step and trying. Cosima turned towards the girl that had offered to take a look at the compass, who was surprisingly even smaller and skinner than the first one. What in Balaemar's name were these people eating to make them so small? Cosima made a promise to herself that if any of them survived when this war was finally over she would bring then back home to have a proper meal. "Switching seems like a wise idea. I think we should all familiarize ourselves with how this compass works as a safety measure in case something happens." |

| It had been a quiet ride to this planet for the most part. Well, that suited her just fine. Casual conversation was never exactly her thing anyway. Instead, she was quietly observing the group as it was slowly growing. They all seemed young like her and her sister; they had that much in common. At the same time though, many of them appeared to be significantly different. A girl with blue skin, one with hard skin that rather resembled rock... And what she found the most peculiar of them all; a man. Her planet had almost entered an age of civil war, just because for the first time, there were two planetary guardians instead of one. But a male senshi? She could only imagine what would have happened in that case. But eventually, they arrived. Their first mission. Heat. Insects. Humidity. She was not going to like this. The others were discussing on who should carry the items that Sailor Jin gave them, but she was still struggling to adjust to the environment herself to worry about that. The heat was getting to her, and the fact that she was not even used to being active at that time of the day made it even worse. She felt dizzy; even momentarily stumbled, but she quickly regained her balance. She would get used to this. She had to. The sooner they were done with this, the sooner they would be-- As she was slowly adjusting, the words fully registered. The communicator they would use to receive their next mission. She sighed. Yes, the situation was desperate, but it still felt wrong. There were several senshi that clearly did not want to be here. They did not know how things would go. If they would even manage to cooperate. And they already have another mission planned out for them? Well. At least if Jin thought they would live to see a new mission, it was a good sign, right? |

| Sailor JinA fine line started to form between Jin's brows before the red-haired girl - Celestal - stepped forward to take the implements, albeit hesitantly. As she first looked around to check with the group for their okay, Jin looked off, back towards the trees behind her. With a question from the blue-and-yellow senshi from Aegle - Alshain - she answered, " Working together is practically mandatory," she turned back to face them, giving the smallest hint of a smile, " I'm sure you'll figure it out."The next question came, and she answered Hemera as well as she could. " It's called Cipriere; We're not exactly sure what kind of enemy you will face, we just know it needs to go before this planet and its people are completely lost." With Amarachius's question, Jin visibly stiffened. It was after Cosima's comments that she answered, forcefully handing the two small items to Celestal as she did so. " Whether they want to be here or not is of little consequence. Zhi is risking everything to keep your planets safe, the least you could do is make yourselves useful and attempt the same." Her eyes reddened and her voice tightened, as though she might cry, but weather in fear or frustration or anger, it was not apparent. " Good luck," she stated as her wings appeared and unfolded, and in a burst of power and energy, she shot skyward without another word.
Crysdal nearly jumped as Jin made her abrupt exit, her eyes following the yellow senshi skyward. That could've gone better, she thought as she returned her attention to the new group. She had missed out on volunteering for the compass and communicator - she had been too preoccupied with people watching and trying to focus on things that could help her out later, trying hard to listen to what was being said while simultaneously latching on to the things she liked about these other Sailor Senshi and fending off the gross bugs that were just swarming over everyone - Nobody else was swatting at them but they were positively eating her exposed forearms and neck and even trying to bite through her tights and just -- How did the blue girl and the crystal-eyes person do it?! They weren't being swarmed at all! It was like they had some natural bug repellent on them or something! While the others had been talking or asking questions, she had inconspicuously worked her way over to both of the girls, hoping to key into whatever protection they had going - she certainly wasn't going to get anything from the deep-voiced metal person, that was for sure - and even tried to lean in a bit, but so far she hadn't noticed a difference. She groaned internally, lamenting the fact that the flying pests would probably leave little itchy welts behind that would last for days, but pushed past the annoyance as best she could. She needed to focus on what was important: liking people and accomplishing their goals. So, when Jin flew the coop, Crysdal took it upon herself to attempt to regroup. " So, that could've gone better," she started, echoing her own thoughts in a neutral tone as her eyes moved over the 11 others in the loose knot that had been around Jin. A dozen people? It was like a regular classroom, without a teacher. She offered them a smile and continued warmly, despite slapping a bug on her arm, " But we'll make it work. How about some introductions? I'm Sailor Aegle," ((A-g-lee, almost like Fleur-de-lis)) " but you can call me Crysdal. I'm from the same planet as Sailor Alshain over there," she motioned to Elysande and fought off the grimace - Elysande looked like she was glaring again; she probably didn't mean it, but no matter what she meant, she looked like she wanted to kill someone. " And my powers are in healing. I'm pretty new to this, but I'll do my best." She nodded her head politely and hoped someone would jump on the introduction chain to get things moving in a positive direction. |

| Sailor Xtal-Diamante gaped at the place that Sailor Jin used to be. That had been quick. And unexpected. And she looked strange when she left. Her eyes turned a colour that they hadn't been before. Was that something her kind normally did? Probably. But Xtal-Diamante wouldn't have a chance to ask—the lady was gone. The blue-haired girl almost instantly forgot that she had even wondered it at all. And then one of the others was talking, one light hair and wearing a colour almost like the rocks of Xtal-Diamante. That colour was a good colour. Colours of the rocks and dust from home were colours that felt nice to look at. The blank-faced teenager nodded slightly at the words coming from Sailor Aegle-Call-Me-Crysdal, although she didn't really understand all of them. Healer? Sailor Alshain? Sailor Xtal-Diamante stared back, thinking about her own planet and the fact that she wasn't really sure what she was here to do. Sailor Jin had told them to defeat... something... but Xtal-Diamante didn't know what that would entail. She didn't even realize that she hadn't actually said anything. She was just staring at the "good colour" one, unblinking. |

| Sailor Aldrin
Sailor Aldrin peered at Sailor Jin with toxic contempt. There was so much that she wanted to say to her. There was so much that she wanted to do to her for forcing into this horrid situation.
Then she was gone. Sailor Aldrin breathed a sigh of relief and immediately focused again on the situation at hand. Her heart began to beat a bit more steadily as she formed a plan in her mind. As she went on whatever kind of mission this was, she would try and find a way to go AWOL. She had to in order to save her own skin and her planet. She had to risk it or inevitably die on one of these forsaken missions. Where was the aid going to Planet Aldrin?
Then the girl who wanted to be called Crysdal spoke. She blinked, suddenly realizing for the rest time that other sailor soldiers were not all like the antagonizing Sailor Jin. In fact, most of the others present seemed... kind. Maybe they were stuck in a similar rut. The only ones that still seemed odd to her was the one trapped in what seemed to be some kind of metal container and the one with a very flat chest and low voice.
"Sailor Alshain," she said with a slight smirk, adjusting her glasses with a broken lens on her face. "That is much like my name. I am called Sailor Aldrin, soldier of sound and discovery. And this..."
The jelly-skinned soldier pulled the guitar hanging on her back forward and spun it around rapidly in a wind wheel motion. It came to rest and she strummed a metal sounding cord. She smirked in pride as the sound actually made her jelly skin wobble slightly.
"This is the Buzz Axe. It is a very complicated device of my own creation. And as you can see it features... oh criminy. It has some scratches on it. That Sailor Jin wretch must have nicked it when she knocked me out. Did she do a number on you guys? You all look alright to me. Do not tell me you actually agreed to come here. I hope that is not the case."
"Then again, if you did, you were likely tricked. That Sailor Jin is a liar. I have never heard of a Zhi or whatever her name may be. If she really is protecting me and my people, how come we have never heard of her until now? My planet has been threatened by space debris and other hazards since its existence first came about and we have not heard a single message from Zhi or her cohorts until now. This is a premonition to something sinister. It has to be."
Aldrin's words were harsh but they seemed to be coming from a genuine sense of fear and betrayal. Some of the others may have remembered that unlike most others, Sailor Aldrin was taken to them unconscious. Upon awaking, she let out a gasp of sorrow and stayed to herself for some time, refusing to speak to any of them and seemed especially fearful of Sailor Jin. Now that Jin was gone, it seemed Aldrin was a bit more confident to speak her mind.

| The vibration from Sailor Aldrin's "Buzz Axe" made Sailor Xtal-Diamante's eyes widen just a smidgen more. She had never felt anything like that when she was home on her own planet. These waves bit into her, harsh and sharp. As something made of crystal material more like stone than anything else, this was not a sensation she had ever felt before. Being stabbed or cut wasn't really something she knew until this very moment—and now she felt that pain clearly. She didn't seem to react visibly as far as cringing or other body language, but she took a small step away from the blue one with the hurting thing. The red-covered soldier was so caught up in this new feeling that she didn't really listen to the words. One vibration had overwhelmed all of the others. |

| At first there was silence, and she caught the crystal-eyed girl beside her staring and was nearly feeling uncomfortable when the blue-skinned girl on her other side - Sailor Aldrin - spoke up and Crysdal had to immediately dance out of the way as Aldrin spun an instrument dramatically around herself and introduced it. The blonde looked back at her, having gotten out of the way in time, and quickly caught her breath from the sudden move as she slapped another insect at her neck. She listened to what Aldrin had to say, and had noticed the crack in her glasses to back up her claim at being knocked out, but she didn't like the thought that Jin had actually physically hurt her and dragged her along. But then she also didn't like Aldrin's tone and the insinuation that she was making about anyone who had agreed to come on the mission, like they were stupid or below her for coming quietly to help this planet in need. Crysdal crossed her arms. She hadn't heard of Zhi, either, but then she hadn't heard of senshi until half a year ago; she didn't see it as such a far stretch, but she honestly had no information to go on for or against the Aldrin's suggestions so she stayed quiet, and hoped she wasn't right. |

| It seemed that the reactions from some of the senshi struck a chord with Sailor Jin. Nyx could understand the emotional turmoil this situation could cause, having experienced herself what a chaotic agent can do to a planet. Let alone something of the magnitude of this current 'Sailor War', at least from what she had perceived it to be so far. Either way, she departed before long, leaving them on their own. Alone. With no other instructions, other than "figure it out", "win this thing". Great. A blonde senshi took it to herself to break the short awkward silence that was starting to fall, and then the introductions began. She mentally noted each senshi's name and element of control, though uncertain if she would be able to remember them offhandedly. A concerned look formed on her face as Sailor Aldrin claimed that she was knocked out by Jin and brought here involuntarily. Sure, this was a conscription, but to go that far... Even putting that aside, this reinforced her earlier fears regarding the outcome of the mission. Would someone who was forced to battle, who was beaten to be forced to battle, actually give it their all? Would they not rather slide into the sidelines and bail at the first opportunity? Reluctantly, she proceeded to introduce herself as well. "I am Sailor Nyx, and my powers are over darkness and cold. I am from the same planet as my sister, Hemera, over there."Even though she was not sure what exactly to say, she addressed Aldrin. "My sister and I do know of Queen Zhi and her court but... that does not mean much. I cannot say I condone the actions taken, regardless of the situation. The thing is, even so..." she trailed off, looking at the distance. "Have any of you dealt with a chaotic influence in the past? I know what we are up against. No, more correctly, I know what it can do to a planet. I know what it did to my planet. All the destruction, the suffering..."
"No, I didn't really choose to be here either. But right now? It feels wrong to walk away from this, knowing what it means.""Um... So yeah..." Nyx blushed slightly. She was not aiming for a "speech" or something, but remembering her own battle against chaos, that time with no one else to help her but her sister... It made her a bit emotional for a moment. |

| Hadley was a little sad that it appeared she had been ignored by Sailor Jin about the compass, but that was okay - she was used to being ignored at home too. At least some things seemed to remain the same even in strange situations like this. Though she couldn't help but to feel sad - a part of her had hoped this place would be different. Maybe she could ask to carry the compass again sometime in the future. Asking again so soon would be rude. She felt better when another girl, a tall and warm-paletted girl, spoke up about the idea of switching items between them. She smiled a little in response, unsure about how to properly respond, especially as the topics continued to flow around them. But the girl reminded her of a bit of home, in a way. Hadley's attention was brought back to a blonde female who then introduced herself as Sailor Aegle, or Crysdal. She seemed friendly enough, and at least now there was a name to put to not only her face, but Alshain as well. Only a whole bunch more to go. Another girl spoke up, one that piqued Hadley's interest as this was the girl with the blue skin. Though Aldrin's demeanor was a bit loud and rambunctious than Hadley was used to dealing with. She wasn't even certain how best to respond to the whirlwind of words and questions, though she did like that Aldrin appeared to appreciate music. However, Sailor Aldrin certainly didn't like Sailor Jin, that much was easy to figure out. It wasn't perhaps hard to figure out why, either. Hadley frowned at her but before she could reply, another girl spoke up. A Sailor Nyx. Darkness and cold? Hadley's frown deepened. Cold and dark only affected her planet for a few weeks out of the year, and she hated it everyday, wishing for the warmth and sun to return. But Nyx seemed knowledgeable, and Hadley liked that. And as she well knew, a person's powers - or lack thereof - didn't dictate who the person behind them was. That line of thought made her speak up. "I don't think Sailor Jin's a liar." She paused, suddenly feeling on the spot - a feeling that rarely ever ended well. She wondered if people would start throwing stuff at her here too. But she continued anyway, because she always did. "I've also heard of Queen Zhi, so Jin wasn't lying. And I think, if we weren't needed here, we wouldn't be here." To finish up, she said. "I'm Sailor Valdis, but you can call me Hadley if you like." There, she had said what she needed to. And, trying to ignore her anxiety, she turned her attention back onto the plants nearby.

| In her excitement, she had almost forgotten to check on Nyx. To be fair, normally they weren’t together side by side like this—in a way, Hemera had gotten used to being alone except during dawn or dusk when she and her sister switched shifts. But then she remembered that Nyx was there, and Nyx was probably grumpy about it being her sleep time right now, and when she saw her sister stumble, Hemera sidled up to her and caught her elbow, concerned. “Are you okay?” she asked, guilt twisting again in her. If Nyx was miserable here, that was her fault. Her twin should be resting back home where everything was well, where she wasn’t involved in this mess… She’d just have to take care of her better. At that moment, she made a promise to herself to stay by Nyx’s side and try to make up for what she’d done the best she could, even if she could never truly erase the mistake. “Just tell me if you need anything, okay?” she said in a low voice that only Nyx could hear. Sailor Jin had answered her earlier question, though beyond the planet’s name, it wasn’t much information. Hemera liked the name, though. Cipriere. It sounded fun to say. The senshi’s departure was rather abrupt, and not before reiterating once more about how little choice they had in this matter. Hemera was feeling the most conflicted she’d ever been in her life. She knew she shouldn’t be happy about this, but she also kind of was, because she got to see this new planet? She just wanted to go on an adventure, but why did everything have to be so complicated? One of them offered an introduction, and she looked up to note the two faces. Healing! That was good. Healing prevents dying. Another one spoke, pulling a strange contraption she’d never seen before in her life, which created an odd noise. She bristled when the strange senshi insinuated that if they knew better, they wouldn’t have agreed to come here, feeling that sense of indignation again that her wishes were being judged. She didn’t know about Queen Zhi? How had she not heard of Queen Zhi? Had she been living under a rock? She opened her mouth to say exactly that, but for once, Nyx beat her to it. Hemera was actually rather surprised that Nyx was talking at length, since she usually disliked social situations and refrained from taking the spotlight. But Hemera did always think Nyx was the better person when it came to speeches. Her thoughts were always more organized, and her words always came out wiser. She waved to the group as her sister introduced her. “My powers are over light and heat! Though we have plenty of that at the moment, heh heh.”As Nyx went on to speak about their own Chaos encounter, she seemed to be drawn back into those memories, and Hemera put one hand on her shoulder, a quiet show of support and understanding. After all, she had been there. It was also a reminder that she would continue to always be there. However, she did not expect her sister to say that she felt she ought to be here. That was… that helped assuaged her guilt, knowing Nyx would want to be here regardless, if given the choice. Maybe. She bit her lip and looked at the others, trying to free her mind from this shameful entrapment. “I think we shouldn’t stand around here; these mosquitoes are going to eat us alive. Shall we at least start moving?”She bounced over to the senshi who held the compass, attempting to take a peek on which direction it pointed towards so they could figure out where to go. |

| While she could see from Sailor Jin's behavior that there was more to the story and heavier things weighing on her mind, she found the answer acceptable, if this was the only option then it would have to do. She nodded in response and listened to Jin's answers to the other questions as well. As soon as she could, Jin left them and their mission began. Alshain's clear eyes looked around at the others wondering how the dynamic would move of leading and following in the team. While Alshain could both lead and follow she wasn't a blind follower either. She was mildly surprised when she heard Aegle say her name and realized that she had just been introduced to the others. However she didn't have to response as the blue skinned woman spoke up and introduced herself. While she hadn't exactly expected everyone to have come "willingly", Aldrin's words gave Alshain much to be concerned about. If she had to be knocked out to be forced to come along, then her behavior will most likely be a huge liability to the balance of this team. She waited as others introduced themselves before a break in the conversation as Sailor Hemera asked about their mission. " We should move soon but we need to handle something first, I believe." She spoke carefully, it wouldn't do to encourage hostility from people it appeared she'd have to work with to both stay alive and return home. " The point has been made that not everyone here is here by their own choice. Since that's the case, if you don't feel a need to be here, then now is a good time to leave. I don't believe Sailor Jin will be back or be watching to make sure everyone has stayed. In my experience, a team will fall if everyone has different intentions in mind." Her eyes flicked to the others around the group, resting briefly on Aldrin before landing Aegle, she wondered if what her planetary partner thought of this as well. |

| Cipriere. SAM mentally commanded her AI companion to log the name into her databases. It didn't appear to be a very pleasant planet, but the scouts back on Chalybs may want to send someone over to investigate it for useful materials. If it wasn't overrun by Chaotic Forces by that point, as their now AWOL guide had called them. This Queen Zhi that was spoken of was apparently guarding her planet? Why had she not heard of such a woman before recent times? Sailor Aldrin's (the loud blue skinned one that looked like she was made of a gelatin substance) doubts were similar to her own, though SAM had not been foolish enough to fight Sailor Jin. She was not the kind to struggle if she didn't have to, and the guardian senshi gave off an air of power that was enough to want her off of Planet Chalybs as quickly as possible. She knew a fight she couldn't win when she saw one. Now stranded with a group of strangers, her head shifted slightly to study the next person who spoke. Blonde hair cut in an odd long and short fashion, blue eyes, and what looked like a foreign substance marked her face in different colors. Was that paint? SAM couldn't wrap her head about why someone would deliberately smear what could be a toxic material on their face willingly, but she knew better than to try and make sense of alien customs. Sailor Aegle the "healer" and Sailor Alshain. She noted their features and stored the new information away for later. But she did wonder how healing was possible with no equipment. Was it magic she used? More names and introductions came, each senshi getting their own file to add to her databases. Sailor Nyx and Sailor Hemera. Sailor Valdis. The senshi with stone for skin looked a bit vacant, but it was also possible her species could not talk either. For a moment, SAM wondered what she wanted to be called. At home, she was sick of her title and was even growing weary of her assigned birth code. But did she want to give these strangers too much information on her? As SAM puzzled over it in silence, her AI decided for her. "This scouting unit is known as Captain Chalybs." The voice that echoed out of her speakers was neither female or male, but somewhere in the middle, with a stilted way of pronouncing words. Despite that, it had a cheerful feel to it. "Colloquially known as Sailor Chalybs from older historic files." "F-ferrum, be quiet!" she said, after recovering from her surprise. The AI died out at her command, leaving her to deal with the consequences alone. It was too helpful for its own good sometimes. She cleared her throat and regained her composure. "My correct name is SAM-BRR3-NE005." She pronounced each character separately, knowing that it took some people a while to understand what she was saying. "Call me however you want. I'm trained as a mercenary and my weapons are plasma based lasers." She paused before answering Sailor Alshain. "I don't like being forced to fight against my will, no matter how noble the cause may be, ...but I will back up this group if needed until the objective is over." She might have been a coward, but she had enough empathy to not abandon them all to die in the jungle. |

| It felt good to at know, through Nyx, that Queen Zhi was real - or at least heard of; it made her feel less like a potential fool. She liked the sound of Nyx's voice - it was soothing, somehow, though what she spoke of was anything but. Crysdal nodded her head once when Nyx asked if any others had dealt with chaos in the past, and was glad that they had apparently caught it early, before the destruction or suffering part. Nyx's final words about how it felt wrong to walk away were ones that Crysdal agreed with; she nodded her head to second the notion. She didn't want to leave, not with this planet on the line. It wasn't hers, but if she could help, she would. Crysdal decided she liked Hadley the moment she stopped talking and looked back at a plant nearby. She was so small and tiny she couldn't help it; that she further reinforced that Crysdal wasn't an idiot for following Sailor Jin so blindly was only icing on the cake. She just wanted to hug her - or pat her on the head, those shoulder guards weren't playing - and work on making her less uncomfortable speaking publicly. The cute little thing. Hemera seemed nice - she liked her enthusiasm! And the plan to keep moving, and that slight bit of hope that the mosquitoes would be less inside the swamp. Crysdal made a mental note of everyone who hadn't introduced themselves so that when they started walking she could make a point to learn their names and everything, but before the purple-wearing girl could point out where they were going, Elysande spoke, drawing her attention. She listened closely... and agreed. Sailor Jin was gone; there was nothing stopping people who didn't want to be here to stay here, and she didn't want to force anyone to stay, either. She just hoped that enough people who could actually fight stayed with them -- and then she had a thought, and looked - really looked - at Elysande, trying to figure out if she really wanted to be there, or if she wanted to go back to Aegle. If she wanted to go back... Crysdal still wanted to stay, but she knew Elysande. She knew how to work with Elysande, and how Elysande worked - on a face-value level, anyway. But... Crysdal nodded back at her. She didn't look like she was making the statement because she wanted to leave, it looked like it was made for Aldrin's benefit. She appreciated the gesture; and despite the trappings of strategy around it, she hoped that those who wished to go would take advantage of Elysande's opening. The sudden and odd voice coming out of the metal person made her jump and stare as it continued to speak. Chalybs? Then another voice spoke - a more --- natural? --- one - in surprise and then started talking in numbers? It was a mercenary? Plasma-Based Lasers? What is a plasma?! But it was staying, which was good, right? She averted her gaze, catching back on Elysande, eyes wide with confusion, and then settling staring off behind Elysande, trying to look casual as her mind went crazy wondering if she could even heal a big metal thing, and then froze, having immediately forgotten its name. Chaldybus? But then it corrected itself with a string of numbers - she didn't really remember number strains well. Was it Chaldybus? She groaned internally - she didn't like having to ask for a name a second time. |

| Celestal smiled shyly at Sailor Valdis as she offered to switch out for her, so she wasn't always responsible for the items. "That sounds like a good idea."When Zhi forcefully handed her the items, she struggled to keep them in her grasp for a moment, not expecting to have them so forcefully given. Items in hand, she cradled them gently against her chest, wanting to make sure that no harm came to them. Her mind raced at the older senshi's words. How could they send them in to face a threat without knowing what they were facing? It seemed so....disorganized somehow. Her thoughts perked up however when Aegle announced that she was a healer, excited not to be the only one. "I am Sailor Celestal," she started, trying to stay positive. She could do this. " My powers are based on the stars and light. I too have the ability to heal and I am also a skilled herbalist." She added the last bit proudly. It was a huge accomplishment, one of the very few she did well in her life and she had attained it at a young age. It was good that the group had two healers, they would be able to work as a team hopefully and keep the group alive. As Hemera bounced over to her, suggesting that they move, she blushed, realizing that she was holding the compass. Holding it in her two hands, she held it out, allowing the others to look at it. "Does uh, anyone have an idea of how this works?" she asked sheepishly. |

| Sailor Xtal-Diamante looked back and forth between all of these vibrating things as they just kept on vibrating. Her mind whirled with the sudden activity of keeping up with a conversation. It wasn't doing a terrible job for a mind that wasn't used to this strange thing called "dialogue" but it wasn't exactly excelling either. It was hard for her to keep track of who was saying what; speakers blended together, introductions merging slightly. It helped when she looked at them, to see that they were moving slightly on the outside (usually mouths, although the smooth-headed thing did not appear to have a mouth) not only projecting these resonant tones. The actual topic of discussion went right over her head. She had never dreamed of disobeying Sailor Jin's order, nor distrusting it. The tanned young woman merely accepted all of these things as the way it must be and followed along. She was doing the same thing right now, not even acknowledging it. The back and forth about who wanted to be here, or who had misgivings about the mission, or who volunteered what information about their powers or past... She tried. Xtal-Diamante really tried to listen to it and to understand it. So far, though, she had pretty much no idea what was going on. |

| "Sailor Nyx," Sailor Aldrin commented with a nod. "I thank you for the insight. I agree that there is something here that is evil and it would be best to stop it. But then Sailor Valdis continued and Aldrin's jelly eyebrows narrowed. "Just because this Zhi exists does not equate to Sailor Jin telling the whole truth. It still does not explain why queen and her court would only care about someone like us... the ones gathered here who have never heard of such a person nor have communicated with such persons. They do not care. They only care now because we are useful to this army as pawns in their game." Aldrin tried her best to not cringe at Nyx's counterpart in Sailor Hemera. So here was yet another duo who had known each other before this point. How lucky, she thought, that they had each other. Aldrin had no one. Then Sailor Alshain suggested running away. She had to appreciate that the soldier actually had a grasp on the reality of their situation, but her suggestion was something Aldrin wasn't sure she could face. The person in the metal suit seemed to have a similar idea. "After what Sailor Jin did to me to get me here, I highly doubt she'd be kind if I were to try and leave. She'd find me just like she did before. As much as I hate to admit it, it would be beneficial to assist you all for now and discover a better solution at a later point." Her glasses fogged over, obscuring her eyes from the others. "You know, I... I do not remember Sailor Jin attacking me at all, but I felt the pain. All I remember was getting dragged for a very long time. It is as though there is a hole in my memories. The Apols... my people were screaming. What were they screaming for?" And just like that, Sailor Aldrin went from a overzealous smart aleck back to the emotionally empty ball of nothing that she was before. Just thinking about her encounter with Sailor Jin seemed to trigger something inside of her. She held her head and sat on the ground, seemingly lost again. |

| All Cosima could do was stare at the spot that Sailor Jin had once stood in an almost blank stupor; silently cursing the woman for just abandoning them without even a single parting glance. The unlikely group stood in an awkward silence before a girl, a blonde with strange, light markings across her face, introduced herself and the others began to follow suite. Half-listening to the others, Cosima turned her eyes towards their surroundings and let them scan over the terrain to get a feel of where they were and how to eventually proceed. A thick blanket of leaves, vines, ferns, and other flora hid what possibly laid beyond while the trees seemed to slowly close in on them as they stood idly by. There was a strong possibility that she was being overly paranoid but she would rather be extremely cautious then careless and dead. With a gloved hand resting carefully on the hilt of Starshatter, Cosima kept watch as she tried to keep up with the discussion around her. There was currently talk about Jin attacking another Senshi while others debated on their next course of action. Cosima specifically frowned at the idea of Sailor Jin going so far as to hurt another Senshi to force them to fight. Were they all not supposed to be on the same cause? If this...'Sailor Aldrin' could be fully trusted then Jin was a threat to all of them and possibly even this Queen Zhi too. Maybe they had all been gathered here for some type of trap? If so, why? Cosima couldn't also shake her suspicions of Aldrin possibly being a liar considering her strange behavior during the short time they had been here. However, Cosima decided against vocalizing her thoughts; arguing and throwing accusations at others now wouldn't get her any closer to home. "I am Sailor Cosima and my birth name is Maenyra. You can refer to me by whichever name you wish." She announced, quickly getting to the point. "My powers rely on utilizing cosmic radiation and using my ancestral sword in combat." Cosima admitted as she proudly glanced down at the blade while she spoke. It was a testament to her power but also served as a subtle warning to anyone who dared to cross her. "I happen to agree with the armored one and I will not lie to any of you either; I do not wish to be here. Yet, I will fight and protect you all while we are together...however long it may last." Regardless of whether she liked it or not, fate had decided that this group would be her temporary clan now and running away from them would bring dishonor to her name. Although she knew more than anyone that her words wouldn't solely be enough to prove her trustworthly and neither would theirs. Each of their actions would speak for themselves soon enough. "I also do not think standing and talking in circles about a Queen who cannot help us here is going to get us anywhere. We are exposed out in the open which is why we should make haste to figure out where to go." She answered flatly as she took the compass from Sailor Celestal's hand, eager to start working on a solution get out of this forsaken swamp. Examining the compass for any signs on how to work it, Cosima frowned before she began to shake it violently yet still saw no change in the trinket. "It is broken." She declared in disgust. |

| "Hey, be careful with that!" Celestal cried as she watched Cosima shake the compass. They had "You'll break it!" Just because it didn't work just yet didn't mean that it was broken. Why would Sailor Jin give them something to help them that didn't work? Snatching the compass back, she cradled it against her chest. "Maybe we need to recite an incantation to get it to work," she offered as she examined the compass again. She had read in books that magic in other worlds required special words to be spoken out loud in order for the magic to work. On others, it just required the will of the person. It was times like this that she wished she was better versed in magic. If she survived, she would change the fact, vowing to study any magic book she would be able to get her hands on. |

| Another healer? Relief washed over her with Celestal's introduction, though the pride at the end caught her a little off guard and she didn't know exactly what to make of it. Herbalism was useful, but what were the odds that the herbs she had trained in would appear on this alien planet? With the following revelation about her discomfort with reading the compass, Crysdal started feeling nervous; if the compass didn't work, they'd literally have direction to turn and might as well stumble around in the dark. To make matters just a little bit worse, Aldrin spoke up again about Zhi and Jin and questions that couldn't be answered and pretty much saying that she couldn't leave or Jin would track her down and beat her up. Crysdal hadn't been there, so she couldn't say anything, but Jin had been civil with her and Elysande, and Nyx had said similarly of her and Hismera's interaction with them; Jin had been a little harsh, yes, but civil, so what had made her interaction with Aldrin so different that it ended so differently? She definitely didn't like her telling them that her people had been screaming, but... she wouldn't lie about that, would she? Crysdal looked over to the form that now sat on the ground, her head in her hands, and honestly didn't know what to think. Thankfully, after, another of them spoke up, her accent heavy but understandable, her tone making her introduction more an announcement as she revealed her name - Cosima, or Maenyra (Crysdal kind of got the feeling that she would prefer to be called by her senshi name, but she remembered Maenyra anyway) - and then explained her powers in a way that completely went over her head: cosmic radiation. She glanced at the metal person - was that anything like plasma? The sword bit she understood, and the following statement that she would remain with them brought some small comfort. The more fighters, the better, right? The confidence with which Cosima presented her view of of the Jin/Zhi/Aldrin situation was comforting, too - she appreciated the directness of getting out of the open, having not really considered that, despite their being on a chaos-inflicted planet -- but then she went and started violently shaking their only means of figuring out where to go and Crysdal sucked in a breath took a quick step forward to stop that, but, thankfully, Celestal stepped in and took it before it could be broken. Or even more broken. As Celestal puzzled over the compass, Crysdal let out the breath she had been holding and tried not to think of the political mess as she slapped down another blood-sucking insect. So far, 9 out of the 12 of them had introduced themselves - Aldrin Hemera, Nyx, Celestal, Valdis, Cosima and Chal-blahblah so dead - the offer had been made to let people leave and not tell on them, and they had managed to stir the Jin pot pretty good, and potentially broken the compass. Just three more people to be introduced to - the crystal-eyed one, the cat-eared one (so small!) and the, um, really cute dark-eyed guy - and she'd officially start pushing Hemera's (and Cosima's) idea to get moving. |

| SAM watched as Sailor Cosima attempted to read the primitive directional tool they had been left with, and judging by her violent reaction, was not having much luck. She hesitated, and then took a few heavy steps to look over Sailor Celestial's shoulder, taking note of their second healer. If a conflict inevitably broke out, she and Sailor Aegle (or was it Crysdal?) would need to be guarded for the benefit of the group. SAM hated being a soldier, but she did know that medics were not meant for front lines. "I doubt we would have been given a device that is not obvious to use," she said. "A compass is a primitive navigational tool, it should not be a struggle to decipher it." Her planet had created digital versions of such inventions years ago, but from what she knew, they should not need to be activated. They pointed to magnetic north at all times. SAM studied the compass for a moment. "Have you tried following the arrow? Would it not logically lead to whatever Chaos thing we're seeking?" |
