| I want to take a shot at editing like signatures and avis, but when I looked at the Photoshop website the cost is $19.99 a month Are there other things I could use to edit? #gcquestion#graphicsguild |

| Hey there! I think your question would rather fit into the Artists Guild But to your question: Of course! There are plenty of other gfx programs such as GIMP, which is (to me) quite "easy" for beginners (compared to Photoshop). I don't know if Paint Shop Pro isn't for free still, but it's an option too, even if it's more "advanced". |

| I agree with Mary! GIMP is a good alternative with a really easy layout to use. It doesn't have as many functions and tools as PS, of course, but you surely can reach similar results with it (though the ways of getting there are way more inconvenient and complicated than in PS as I learned over time xD). Also, don't know where I read it, but I think there's an older version of PS for free, too? |

I got to know you as Mary, so you're still Mary for me xD And oh, I see xD Then I'd recommend going with GIMP, yes xD (Though GIMP's option for creating gifs isn't the best either - but well, at least you do have the possibility of making them! ) |

Oh i didn't know this! And I'm currently using CS6 extended, but I never worked with CS2 so I wasn't certain about the gif-thing XD. But thanks for the Info, Dia! <3 @Princess Moon: That's right lol And I agree, Gimp isn't as tough as as Photoshop I simply can't recommend something better for beginners. |

| Yes you can make gifs in PS2, and there is still a free link and all other answers to your questions in the Artists Guild |

| For those who are thinking of downloading pscs2, yes you can do animations, it's just called there 'animations' instead of 'timeline' xD and the link works btw, I downloaded that version just in case (and if someones need it i can upload it)~
Note: Moving this thread to the guilds~ Note 2: I'm working on another class/tutorial to make signatures for beginners so wait for it next week =) (first tutorial was how to color manga) Note 3: If you want I can do it only in GIMP Note 4: In the guilds I made a class about free and paid softwares Note 5: It costs $19.99 if you want the entire adobe creative suite but it's $9.99 for photoshop, lightroom and I think illustrator

xD thanks (?) I've been doing graphics since...2000 or 2001-ish and i've used a lot of graphics programs so I know a few of them but choose photoshop because it's the best at the end of the day =p and also I'm a geek so I like to learn things I don't know so I can be useful to others if I need too =D |

| GIMP is pretty easy to use. If you're planning on using it to make gifs I'd definitely recommend Photoshop. Also, Adobe offers a photographer package that has both PS CC and Lightroom CC for $9.99 USD. (: I've been considering this option to upgrade to when I get a newer PC since my current PC isn't compatible with CC. |
