| Congratulations to everyone who participated in round one - everyone got the right answer! ✽ Round One ✽Q: What is the Japanese word for cherry blossom? The Japanese word for cherry blossom is sakura (桜). Interestingly enough, one way to remember the kanji is because it depicts a tree (木), and a woman (女) sitting next to it. I've seen different places that say the three strokes to the top are a hair decoration that the woman is wearing, sakura petals, or little birds in the tree. Round two is up, and waiting to be conquered. I'll post a scoreboard after the first few rounds have been completed. |

| Round two proved to be a little more difficult!
✽ Round Two✽ Q: Approximately how many varieties of cherry blossom trees are there? (Top 5 closest answers get points!) There are currently over 600 varieties of cherry blossom trees, many of which are hybrid species that have been created by mankind. Cherry blossoms can differ in terms of size, number of petals, shape, colour, and blooming time.
Time to take a guess at round three! |

| ✽ Round Four ✽ Q: Approximately how old is the oldest cherry blossom tree still alive in Japan? (Closest five answers will get a point).
The oldest cherry blossom tree in Japan is 1800-2000 years old, and is located in Yamanashi prefecture. The tree is called Jindai zakura (神代桜) and is supposed to be one of the best 100 cherry blossom trees to see in Japan!

| Everyone got the question right this round! ✽ Round Five ✽Q: What is hanami?Hanami (written as 花見 in Japanese) can be literally translated as "flower watching". When the cherry blossoms are blooming, it's popular to go sit under the trees (on tarps) and have a picnic (often with copious amounts of alcohol). Some people get really fancy and even bring a portable BBQ. At many popular hanami spots you'll find a variety of yadai (屋代) or little stalls that sell food. Many companies have a company hanami party, and send a younger (often new) employee to secure the best spot. ✽ Current Leader Board ✽Here are the current top five trivia participants! There's still a chance to catch up, so keep on trying! Addelyn - 9 Cosmos-hime - 6 Sailor Mercury - 5 Eternal Knight - 4 Sailor Uranus - 3 Anait Zelleire - 3 Ready for round six? |

| ✽ Round Six ✽ Q: Cherry blossoms only bloom in the spring. True or false?
True! Cherry blossoms come in the spring, and are the perfect sign that the season is underway. There are, however, rare species of cherry blossom trees that bloom in the autumn! They can only be seen in a very few parts of the country, but seeing cherry blossoms and autumn leaves is pretty great!
