Plot Summary: During the events of Andromeda Spire, Sailor Andromeda invited Sailor Makemake and the others for a drink to celebrate their victory over the siren and Chaos Seed. Being allergic to salt water, Sailor Makemake declined going to the now struggling Planet Leviathan and thus wished the others farewell. Sailor Andromeda, now staying behind to protect her people, fulfills her promise to Sailor Makemake. What shenanigans await them?

Details on any necessary information: Participants should be familiar with the events of Andromeda Spire. This thread has no plot line and is simply being used to kill time between threads, as neither Sailor Mercury or I are able to join this current one.

Restrictions: Otaku only. Other characters may join in if they are not bound by other circumstances in the hardcore RP.

She felt like she had barely gotten any rest after being up for… how long had it been now? In the maze, it felt like a couple hours, but apparently she hadn’t slept for five months or something. And the world just kept on hurtling forward without stopping. She tried not to think about it too much lest it made her head hurt.

Moments after she’d saved her planet, Andromeda’s fuku had glowed and changed, transforming from the colors of turquoise into a lighter shade of blue-green and white. Her tiara had been replaced by a string of pearls, and now she had armored shoulder pads as well. Those were just some of the changes—there were more, but it wasn’t like she had time to go stand in a mirror and inspect them all.

The Crone had said something about unlocking their potential—maybe she had finally gotten that upgrade she’d heard the senshi of earth kept talking about. She did just use all of her powers in a direct fight with Chaos’ seed and won. Maybe she’d gotten stronger.

After the others left, leaving only Sailor Makemake behind, Andromeda had asked her to return into town with her. She checked quickly to make sure everyone and everything was okay, had a quick visit to the palace to see that her parents were still in one piece, and let them hug her and yell at her for disappearing for five months with no contact. She explained that she had no idea that much time had passed, and had a hard time disentangling herself from their arms.

It was odd. Seeing how much they’d missed her, how they’d cried in relief and seemed like they’d genuinely been afraid for her life was nice, but also unsettling. Maybe she’d gotten too used to the fact that they’d once threw her to the ocean seemingly without care, even if they had shown their regret multiple times. Was it just that hard to forgive and forget?

In any case, their attention felt suffocating, and she quickly excused herself by saying she had a guest to entertain, someone who had helped save this kingdom, and promised to return to the palace later tonight.

“Well, that’s over now, sorry about the wait,” she said as she fell into step beside Makemake once more, heading toward a local tavern. “I definitely could use a drink after that.” She glanced curiously at the other senshi, which sometimes appeared rather odd. “Do you even drink? Like… alcohol?”

Sailor Makemake had been quiet for some time after wishing the others farewell. Any congratulation or celebration of the people of Andromeda was merely met with a "That's nice" in a friendly tone. It seemed Makemake didn't understand that they were thanking her. Did she even get the concept of thankfulness?

She watched on as  yet another concept she was unfamilar with unfolded before her. Family. She had never had a family... at least one that she remembered. This incarnation bloomed from the petals of a massive tulip and lived for decades among the plants on Plant Makemake.

It confused her. What was the connection here? Were they friends? They seemed like they were friends, but Sailor Andromea, or Kira as they called her, didn't seem comfortable.

Soon they were off for some well deserved relaxation. Makemake walked with a bounce to her step. She didn't seem tired at all and looked up at the shimmering sky.

"Yes, my plants could use a drink. They're very tired and so am I. It'll be nice."

Some of her tiny vines sprouted from under her gloves and collar, almost as if to introduce themselves to Andromeda.

"Elcohawl? I see. This must be an Andromeda specialty. I'll be frank with you. This is the first planet I've been on with lifeforms other than plants. Everything up until this point has been... wastelands. Thank you for being patient with me... Princess?"

Makemake smiled nervously, showing her pearly whites.

Her plants? Andromeda had observed Makemake throughout this day but her attention had mostly been elsewhere, so she honestly had about zero knowledge about the other senshi. She detransformed back to civilian form now that they were in a more relaxed setting, and decided to use this opportunity to get to know Makemake more. From what she’d been saying, it seemed these plants she used in her attacks were literally a part of her. She stared at the vines sprouting out from Makemake’s limbs. Did that make her half human half plant or something? Was that rude to ask?

Right. So she wasn’t familiar with alcohol. Was alcohol good for plants? Probably not. Better not find out in any case. Looked like she’d be getting drunk alone tonight.

Though surprised to hear Makemake’s admission, that kind of explained a lot. So she was kind of like Achelois then, the only human living in a planet? That kind of existence must be lonely. Well, maybe Kira could teach her a thing or two about humans. Be of some use to her.

“You don’t have to call me Princess,” she said quickly. “My name is Kira. What’s yours? Or should I stick to your senshi name?”

Sailor Makemake paused for a moment, surprised at what Kira said.

"Kira... wait, senshi name? Is Sailor Makemake a special kind of name? I thought it was just my name. Do I have another name?"

She didn't have a name on Planet Makemake. There was no need for one. But she knew there was something. In a fuzzy memory, she was called by another name. There was something else, something she could barely grasp.

"My name... I think... Kaede?"

With a sudden "pop," her fuku shined in an a bright light and morphed instantly into a set of what looked to be Earth clothes. They were a very particular set of clothes, namely overalls, basketball sneakers and what looked to be a graphic t-shirt of Sailor Moon. Makemake, or Kaede as she called herself, peered at the many cheap bracelets on her wrist and felt at the bandanna tied around her head.

It wasn't unlike Sailor Moon's transformation into Princess Serenity, but the result was almost the opposite. Either way, it seemed Kaede once looked like this, though the revelation didn't seem all that surprising or alarming to her. She looked at herself calmly, then looked up at Kira.

"It can't remember too well but... I think this is fly."

She kept overestimating what passed as normal for Makemake, it seemed. If she recalled correctly, Achelois didn’t have another name either, so maybe Makemake didn’t either, since no one else lived in her planet.

But then she spoke again, as if she’d only just remembered.

Kira blinked as Makemake detransformed into clothes that she’d often seen on Earth. And was that… Sailor Moon on her shirt?

Makemake—or was she Kaede now?—looked about as surprised about the transformation as Kira did, and she almost sounded like she had no idea what was going on. Did she seriously just remember that she had a civilian alter ego? Or maybe she was one of those people with short term memory problems? Kira had once seen an Earthen movie about a poor fish who could not remember why she had to keep swimming…

(What on earth did 'fly' mean?)

“Uh… okay then! You look cute, er… Kaede.”

What a bizarre companion she had acquired.

“So, here we are,” she pointed at the tavern—her usual one—Mermaid’s Clam. “What kind of drinks do your plants need? Just water?” she asked as she pushed open the door.

At least they would certainly have that.

"Cute," Kaede repeated to herself. Was she cute? She never thought to consider it.

She looked again at Kira. She really was beautiful. Not only that, but she was also incredibly kind. She could understand why her people loved her so much. She imagined it was like how her plants admired her as a friend. She hoped that she could be Kira's friend too.

"As far as liquids go, yes," she responded. "I haven't known anything but water. My plants also need sunlight. But they've got enough of that."

Upon entering Mermaid's Clam, her eyes widened. She had never been in such a location before with so many people in such a small space. Did people of other planets do this often? What was the appeal of it? She tried to understand.

"What is this place?" she asked Kira.

“Great! Water it is,” she declared before walking toward the bar.

The aged bartender looked at her warily, but Kira rolled her eyes. “Water, please,” she emphasized the word—the least alcoholic drink ever—which did earn her a surprised look. Smugly, she added, “For her,” she pointed at Kaede. “As much as she needs. And I’ll start with wine. Red.”

Then she turned to the other girl. “It’s all on me, so you can have whatever you like, should you decide to try other things as well.”

She noticed that Kaede was looking around in relative amazement and confusion. Oh, dear. Obviously she’d never been in a bar either.

“It’s called a tavern or a bar,” she patted one of the wooden stools lining up the counter. “Come and sit. This is a place where people gather to socialize and enjoy a variety of drinks as well as some food.”

"I have so much to learn about other cultures it seems. Bars are happy places of gathering. Ok. I think I got that."

Kaede thanked the bartender and gingerly sipped her water. Some of her plants began to emerge from under her sleeves and pants. They went this way and that. Some of the tiny vines went to sip some of the small water droplets that remained on Kaede's face.

She smiled nervously and glanced at Kira.

"I heard that princesses are... is popular the word? I'm surprised there isn't a crowd around you. Is all of your planet this nice?"

Kaede's cheeks appeared slightly flushed. To Kira's likely horror, she would see that some of Kaede's plants had found their way into shot glasses and other drinks directly near their host. Kaede had good manners, but her plants were another story entirely.

“I have a lot to learn about yours too,” Kira replied as she watched the plants that seemed to have a life of their own appear from various parts of Kaede’s body. The people around them also looked on in puzzlement—some in alarm—but when they saw Kira there, it seemed to assuage their confusion and fear somewhat.

She gave a wry smile at Kaede’s next remark. “Not necessarily. Princesses are… important is the better word for it. They have a higher position than others because someday they will rule the kingdom. Well, the eldest ones, at least. I happen to be an only child, so I can’t exactly foist that duty on anyone else.” She had mixed feelings about ruling Andromeda these days. She used to be all for it, but that was… before.

“And yes, when Chaos isn’t running rampant, my planet is nice. The people too, for the most part. But like all places, there will always be some not so nice people no matter what.”

She sipped her wine, and did a double take when she saw some of the vines had slithered into other people’s drinks and nearby bottles. The bartender was giving her an alarmed look, and some people near them seemed equally surprised and annoyed. Before anyone could yell at them, Kira quickly cleared her throat.

“Ahem… I should tell you that not all of these drinks are just water. I don’t know what their effects might be on your plants… You might want to make sure they don’t drink what they’re not supposed to,” she said, pointing at one of the vines diving into a nearby shot glass. “Also, some of those are other people’s drinks.”

"Only child," Kaede repeated to herself. What was this strange role that Kira was suddenly talking about? Kaede was just starting to learn about what families were and now there was something called an "only child." Was this a special thing? Was Kira a special kind of princess?

Kaede's eyes went huge when Kira alerted her to the fact that her plants had gotten into the other drinks. She let out a squeak sound and immediately began to reel in her plants like a fishing pole.

"Oh no! Bad plants! Bad! Those are drinks for other people. What do you mean I never taught you that water could belong to others? I guess that was the case..."

Her face flushed more and more as she began to twist around and look at the upset patrons.

"I'm sorry everyone! I have ruined for your bar experience and will now offer my services and my plants' services for all eternity!"

She began to prostrate herself on the ground and bow over and over. It was clear that she felt awful about the experience, so awful that her lack of judgement caused her to offer herself as an eternal servant to Kira and her planet.

As Kaede began to reel her plants in, looking visibly panicked, Kira started to feel bad for her. She quickly jumped up and gently pulled the girl up from her position on the ground as Kaede suddenly offered her services for all eternity. Where did that come from?!

“That won’t be necessary!” she said brightly in a hurry. “Forgive us, everyone. She’s… new. But she’s my guest, and I’ll… next round is on me!” she announced, to the cheers of everyone in the bar.

“There, problem solved,” she sighed in relief as she guided Kaede back to her seat. “It’s okay, really, you’re still learning... everything, it seems. Is this really your first time away from your planet? Because that actually looks like you bought them on Earth,” she pointed at the girl’s clothes.

Kaede giggled when Kira propped her up back on her seat. She seemed to immediately forget her and her plants' mistakes as soon as she was pardoned.

"There are three Sailor Makemakes," she said slowly and carefully. "I am the third."

She held three of her fingers up and nearly pushed them into Kira's face to demonstrate her point. She leaned forward, but the tiny vines that reemerged from under her sleeves and overalls kept her steady on her seat.

"The first was shut into silence alongside a Silver Millenium. The second earned these clothes on that place you call Earth. She was called Kaede and she... had friends. I don't remember these friends, but she had them and they helped her buy these clothes. The third, that's me, woke up on Makemake and I only left when I heard others were in trouble. I don't have friends, but I have the memory of friends. I thought... maybe helping them and getting friends would be nice."

She sighed and rested her head on the bar counter.

"Oh, I'm a terrible person. I should just help people to help people..."

Kira leaned back a little as Kaede suddenly put three fingers very near to her face. She listened to the story, fascinated to know that there had been two other Sailor Makemakes before the one before her. It was strange how Kaede, the third incarnation, seemed to possess some of the previous Makemake’s memories. Or were they someone else’s? Wait, Kaede wasn’t even this Makemake’s name? Adopting her previous life’s name because she didn’t have any… it kind of felt a little bit sad.

“Hey, it’s totally okay to want to help people and get friends. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive. And friends are nice. Everyone needs those. No one should live alone.”

She glanced again at Kaede’s clothes. The fact that the previous incarnation bought these and it somehow appeared on the present day also seemed odd. Maybe reincarnation worked differently in Makemake or something.

“There was another Sailor Andromeda before me as well. But she was like… a different person. I don’t have her memories, her name, or anything of hers, except the weapon we both fight with.”

OOC: I can have a two month delay! GEEZ. I actually had this post written but somehow forgot to post it! Found it today.



"No one should live alone," Kaede repeated to herself. Did she live alone? Her plants were her friends, but Andromeda was different than plants. She was complicated. She had emotions, thoughts, dreams and passion. Had Kaede been living her life wrong this entire time?

Her eyebrows perked when Kira mentioned another Sailor Andromeda. Maybe she could probe her history and learn just where she went wrong. Maybe by learning from her, she could start to make friends.

"Could you tell me more about her? Did you meet her? I've never met another Makemake. That must be so cool..."

She blinked and stared at the various bottles of liquor in her stupor.

Kira thought about Nerida, and smiled sadly. “To be honest, I only met her very briefly, and it was only her spirit. We were never meant to meet, I think, but she… had unfinished business after she died, and that’s why her spirit still stayed behind.”

At least it gave Percy closure. Still, Kira would have liked the opportunity to know Nerida more. There was no one else in this world who knew her burden and what being Sailor Andromeda meant, after all. They could have helped each other.

“Anyway, her name is Nerida, and she lived centuries before I was born. She became the first Sailor Andromeda, but unfortunately perished in her battle against a monster that threatened my planet. She felt like a failure, so she wanted to be forgotten initially. I didn’t even know she existed until I met someone who knew her. That was when I started looking for her and eventually managed to reach her, give her spirit peace, and help her move on. As I said, we met very briefly, so I don’t know much about her. She seemed nice and brave. She died as a hero, no matter what she thought.”
