This is the planning/discussion thread for the Social Networking Team as we discussed at the Moderator Meeting on April 1st 2016.


What is to be expected/how this will work:

Time:
Keeping up with social networks requires time. If you are committing to this and find yourself unable to follow through later on down the road, please contact Sailor Mars or me immediately as we can find a back up or another person to take over.

Other Helpers Beyond Staff:
As of right now, until we get things organized, off the ground and running smoothly, this will be open to staff.  In the future, if we deem it necessary and feel there is enough members on the forum able to commit to it, we will open up applications for more helpers.

Quantity of Posts:
With how fast paces social media is, we will need to try to have at least one post per day, if not more, if we want to keep our audience engaged and interested in our content and forum.  However, the content can vary on the posts from site adverts to SM news, merch, community spotlights, etc.

Division of Duties
We would like to have 2-3 team members per platform. One member would perhaps concentrate on merchandise posts, news, etc while the other would concentrate on site orientated adverts.  This will be something that needs to have clear goals and expectations on what your duties are.


Site Advertisements:
We will create a thread for Staff (only for the time being, we can open it up to the public if we feel its necessary) to request adverts for events, threads, etc.   They will first request an graphic advert from Mercury then they will post their ad request with the graphic and information.  It would then be posted across all the various accounts, with adjustments to the post depending on the platform.

There is also premade general site adverts that I would expect to see used and posted 1-2 times a week.

I would also like to see maybe other things like member spotlights of their fanarts or otaku creations, etc. This is something we can work on how to approach and what things we should look for in this thread.

Original Content:

This is something that was discussed and I think would be beneficial to help with our forum. However, I will keep this as optinal because this would be the most time consuming aspect of the social networks. Original content can refer to merch reviews, episode discussions, gifs, unboxings, etc. This is something we can further discuss for ideas in this thread.


We will work on the best way to organize and coordinate this between all the team members so we can make sure ad requests are makiing it across all platforms. Content beyond that can vary between the different platforms based on what works best for it.  We will most likely use something like google sheets and a main thread on the forums for this but other ideas are appreciated too.

We are most certainly open to anyone else who wants to help that was not at the meeting. This is not strictly for the Silver Crystal Moderators to do, this is an invitation for all staff members to help out if they so choose so.  

This thread is for further discussion/planning/ideas for this and once we get things in place, we will make sure everyone has access to the proper platforms.
