I like those ideas a lot, Kyra! It's awesome becuase I believe some of Jupiter's moons were found to be somewhat similar to earth? Someone with more space smarts correct me. I seem to recall something like that though.

Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, is said to be very similar to what they think a primordial Earth might have been like, except rather than water based, it's methane based. The Cassini-Huygens project actually sent a probe down to the surface and their suspicions were proven correct - Titan is home to mountains, rivers and lakes, just like Earth, except it's all on a methane cycle.


Europa is another interesting case, as under its surface speculations have been made that there's a true, liquid water ocean, capable of supporting life. .. ancient, tiny-cell freezing cold water life, but life all the same.

The moons of Saturn are actually really awesome in their differences - just a description of the moon leads to a perfectly ok character personality profile. Years ago I had this entire book planned out about a reporter named Cassini Huygens and her attempt to speak with this mysterious ruler, Saturn, but in order to do so she had to get around all of his guards and advisers, of course named after and having the personalities of the larger moons in the Saturnian system. ^^
!! And I did my senior seminar presentation on the theory of the creation of Saturn's rings - it was pretty excellent. ^-^
o_o obligatory space fact: The density of water is greater than the density of Saturn; therefore, Saturn would float on water, despite its mass.


^-^ I'm up for any idea, but, QUESTION: Will Lady's AU destruction of the previous world of power involve an epic romance between the princess and the prince of another planet? I'd honestly be happy whether it was there or if it weren't - I'm kinda excited about a girl power thing. ... And I've always wondered how things would go if the princess did not awaken as a senshi, but rather was just a civilian the senshi had to find. ...but that might be further complicating things. ^^'

I don't see why the princess has to be a senshi, I think it would definitely add an interesting twist, and I think that profile might be easier to make since you don't have to come up with powers, or attacks.

Okay, so we've got senshi awakening with the help of a Mau guardian and a Coronis guardian to find a (non-senshi) Princess of an ancient civilization that is centered on not-the-moon.

They will either be
• A.) senshi of the planets, looking for a larger-moon's princess, or
• B.) senshi of moons, looking for their planetary princess.

I wonder if that Jupiter Knight guy still checks in every now and again? He could be our Tuxedo Mask replacement if we decide to go for another love story, or we could have a moon guardian awaken as a knight, rather than senshi... Or go full-out Girl Power on this plot.


Shall we talk enemy, or hammer out the senshi options first?

Could we do senshi of elements or space entities? You know senshi not necessarily ruling over a planet or moon.

^-^ I also think I like this idea the best, and Twin sailors would be the really cool! I like Saturn's idea that their powers seem to magnify when together, but I'm not so sure about weakening them when apart -- I think it should somewhat reflect the unique situation of being a twin in that when together they combine like none other, but the at of being a senshi should encourage the two to become strong in their individuality rather than foster even greater codependency, so it is my opinion that their power level should be exactly equal to everyone else's when they're not working in tandem. And when they are together, the power 'magnifies' in the sense that their powers complement each other so much that it only seems like they're more powerful when attacking as one.
((I just keep thinking identical twins here, so I don't know about a girl/boy pair :/ But I'll go with whatever majority rules!))

OMG AND THEIR NEMESIS ASSOCIATION IS CALLED THE 'SCORPION' ((inspired by the Orion myth)). ._. there are so many different versions of that myth... but all involve death by scorpion (sent either by Apollo, jealous of the attention Orion received from his twin sister Artemis at being such an excellent hunter, or Gaia, vengeful against his threat to hunt every animal on Earth).

I know it's already used in the series, but in the myth telling where Orion is admired by Artemis so much that she actually extends an invitation to join her girls' only hunting group, I always got the impression that she wasn't just impressed with his skill. ... so maybe they actually fell in love on Earth. Artemis loved Orion dearly, and her guardians, the members of her girls' only hunting group, protected her fiercely. When a constellation was named after him, the senshi took the names of the stars of the constellation, and when Orion died by the scorpion, Artemis sealed herself away in grief. ... or something else that doesn't so easily mirror the serenty/endymion thing. and eventually for some reason they're reborn... er... maybe this isn't such a good idea, lol... this would make the leader of the Scorpion Whatevers be Apollo, her twin brother, or Gaia, their grandmother. ... I second all teen-aged girls! ... ^^' and not only because now my head is full of thoughts surrounding Artemis's Girls-Only BAMF Hunting crew. adding a male to the mix might make for relationship drama. bleh, they've got enough on their plates before wondering if Alnitak likes them back.

This is what I meant. Obviously they are not as strong when apart, but I didn't mean WEAKER than normal Senshi. Of course it is considered "weaker" apart than together. The weak area I mean being the normal senshi and together being the strong.

So yes, they have the powers of a normal Senshi but it combines/grows stronger when used together.

Another idea! What if when they used their combined power it drains a lot of energy which limits the size/power of their combined attacks (but is still highly more powerful than that of a single Senshi) I said this because I pictured an epic battle where all the Senshi are exhausted and about to collapse of exhaustion and the twins combine their power one last time using ALL OF THEIR ENERGY LEFT to defeat whatever is happening. It is all sad and dramatic and o0o0o noooo -cries- (of course they remain alive due to a miracle or something)

Well if not the boy/girl (totally didn't think about the male Senshi :lolz: ) I pictured now a more feminine female and a more of a tomboy or darker themed character for the second (you know the kind that wear those combat boots, black, etc but not so much goth)

I seriously want to create one of these twins now.

SENSHI -

• Sailor Betelgeuse (Orange-Red) - it's seriously a huge huge star. If placed where the sun is now, Jupiter would be on its surface. ... but red always screams "fire."
  
• Sailor Rigel (bright blue) - the 6th brightest star in the sky, expected to supernova sometime soon (on the cosmic scale soon though, not really our lifetime soon). While it is a bright blue supergiant, so are all the belt stars, so we don't necessarily need to make Rigel water... but it has a lot of 'marinus' nicknames.
  
• Sailor Bellatrix (yellow star) - well... name means 'right shoulder'... has a high temperature... But! Fun fact, it's called the Amazon Star, or the Female Warrior. I think that lends itself nicely to the idea of a senshi. It's also known as Mirzam, the Heralder, as it marks the appearance of the brighter star Rigel.
  
• Sailor Saiph - Saiph means "Sword of the Giant".
  
• Sailor Alnitak - possible twin -- a triple star and is associated with the colors topaz yellow, light purple and grey. ... means "girdle" haha, we're talking about a belt.
  
• Sailor Alnilam - possible twin -- white star, central position, means "string of pearls" as it decorates the center of the belt.
  
• Sailor Mintaka -- double star, brilliant white and pale violet. Means "the belt"

Ohhh, now wouldn't that be interesting is the last three where ALL sisters.. the Al and Al were twins, and Min is the older sister, and they could all have names that are named after the same type of objects, just not clothing like their sailor names...

I really liked that info, I really think it gives great bases to start senshi with.

Ok I hope you do mind because i think the senshi you've come up with make a really good guardian sounding group, similar to the Inner Senshi.

Would you be open to having other senshi enter the scene? You know similar to those like the "outer senshi", those with different jobs in the Solar System. And even maybe those that come from other systems?

Because I've been thinking of redoing my otaku senshi, Sailor Aurora. I came up with her because I've always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis, which the name is interesting in itself because Aurora is a roman God and Borealis is the Greek name for the northern wind. I'm thinking of taking a lot from her and the scientific stuff of auroras. However, I don't want to just throw in another senshi that might fit. Just all this talk was really making me want to redo her. I'm not sure what kind of Senshi she could be considered though. Auroras are really an element. They are caused by caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere. So yeah. Um.

Also I was thinking about throwing in some diversity with my character too. Seeing as she's based off of the north pole Aurora, I was thinking she'd of Native American descent, based off of one of the groups that are usually considered "Eskimos".

Also I was wondering about that, since we are thinking this will be based in America, I wonder how much diversity we could go with. It's so easy since America is a melting pot of different cultures.

Anyway just throwing some ideas in there. I really love all of the stuff you are throwing out there Kyra. You are so full of awesome ideas. XD

Auroras are actually plasma I love the thought of making her a Native American! How awesome is that?! THINK OF THE CULTURE!! I like the idea!! but if you wanted her to be part of the 7 main senshi she might make a good Alnitak based on colors alone; you wouldn't have to change any part of her but the name, either. But that's only if you wanted one of the Orion senshi positions! Being a plasma-based senshi would fit well with our theme of a nebula princess.

I guess for now it might be better to stick with the Orion senshi since it seemed like the Lady didn't want this to get too deep either. And bringing in other senshi will only complicate things, for now. xD

^^ Plasma is a fourth state of matter, beyond solids, liquids and gases. They're energetic ions, or charged particles. Neon lights are plasma, fire is plasma; pretty much any glowing gas is plasma. The sun is actually a giant plasma ball XD

Aurorae are actually charged particles from the Solar winds that interact with our Earth's magnetic field. Those interactions cause the gaseous particles to become excited and charged, thus they glow. The lines they follow are actually lines of Earth's own magnetic field. ^^



Oh, and as for not really liking the name Alnitak.... there's an alternative name for it - Alnitah. It's not accepted as the star's true name now, but in ancient times they swapped between -k and-h depending on your region. We might be able to bend the rule for it...? ((Lady?))

Isn't the constellation Orion often associated with the Canis Major and Canis Minor? I think sometimes they are depicted as his hunting dogs or something. The Sirius "dog star" is in one of them. It'd be ironic and hilarious if the kitty was named Sirius.
