The discussion and OOC thread for Fractured Zenith is now up!

For those of you interested in playing, feel free to note that this is an alternate timeline. I'd love to hear your ideas on how the canon cast would awaken or otherwise be different within this story.

Current ideas in mind:

I'd love to have Selena in this story!

I remember discussing one potential option with you before, which was influencing Wilson Buren (and Eagleland by extension) to hunt for the missing fragments of the Silver Crystal. If they were able to claim them all, their rule over Earth would be absolute.

Apart from that, the crystal fragments can serve as an important key to stopping the Fracturing and restoring the memories of the playable characters.

That all sounds great! If there are still spots open, I may take a senshi character if needed, since sometimes villains don't need posts very often. Would that be okay with you?

As we discussed outside of the thread, I'd love to be Venus. It'd be interesting to take the Sailor V concept on a different route. Maybe instead of catching crooks, she acts like a sort of Robin Hood character, stealing from Eagleland to aid the poor.

I'd love to participate with my antagonist OC Kyan once I finish her information and get her approved by the staff.

Glad to hear of your interest, Andalusite! I'm also considering open up Pluto and Saturn to player roles.

Professor Tomoe will also feature as an NPC in this story, with his goals and motivations largely similar to the Infinity arc. But as this is an alternate timeline, he finds himself at odds with the Eagleland military forces. To accomplish his plans, he needs to be able to keep the military enclave occupied with hunting down their public enemy number one.

Instead of throwing many resources at the Eagleland problem, Tomoe/Germatoid can simply provide support to Jasper Franklin and let him do all the heavy lifting.

I think Pluto and Saturn have potential to make the story interesting. I second that idea!

As for NPCs, I do have a question. When a main NPC like Tomoe is involved, as opposed to a "one post wonder," who ultimately controls him? I'd assume it is the creator of the storyline?

You are correct, I would be handling Tomoe as an NPC.

A general question to pose for those of you still watching this thread. What if Usagi was reincarnated into a Fallout Vault-style bomb shelter? 

In terms of personality, this ought to be in keeping with her idealistic outlook. Amongst all the playable characters, it would be Usagi who has the most vivid recollection of what life was like before the Fracturing.

Hmmm... Care to elaborate a bit on the Fallout Vault-style? I'm not too familiar with what you mean, but I am sure it would be a good idea regardless!

Without using any specific examples (story spoilers), the Vaults in Fallout are subterranean shelters built with the purpose of providing safe havens from nuclear explosions and fallout for the citizens of the United States.

That's the official purpose, anyway. The military contractor involved with their design was also instructed to use these Vaults as part of a nationwide social experiment; not every Vault worked as stated to the masses. It would be a gross understatement to label the majority of these experiments as unethical.

Fortunately for us, Usagi was part of a control group and thus not subjected to any anomalies, intended or accidental.


EDIT: I may allow Tomoe as an open villain slot for the story. His goal is to summon Pharaoh 90 into our world, but he needs to keep his daughter alive long enough for Mistress 9 to mature. He believes that the unique radiation of the Silver Crystal fragments can further accelerate Mistress 9's growth; until then, he must synthesize a serum derived from Jasper's blood to preserve Hotaru's health.

To secure Jasper's good will (and those precious bi-monthly blood donations), Tomoe offers him information and material support.

If you indeed allow Tomoe I'd like to sign up as him. We could all use a good laugh.

Jasper, Thank you for the detailed explanation! Everything makes much more sense now. So Usagi has the best recollection of life before the Fracturing because she was isolated as part of the control group in one of the Vaults...Interesting.

Since Tomoe is a playable character, will Hotaru then be a plot-based NPC? I don't see her as being able to do too much outside of her house if she constantly needs injections to stay alive. xD;;;

She could always be the tragic friendless emo girl. You know, as in more of the same. And we could savour those scenes where she has to take those nasty long syringe injections out of unwanted obligation.

I hadn't intended for Hotaru to need them more than once every month, but I'm sure those would still be awful. For her role, I am considering her as a plot NPC that may require the senshi's help to receive injections should her father 'disappear' under strange circumstances..

Going back to our plan with the underground shelter, CJ had suggested I look at placing all the senshi together in the same facility to enable all our participants to post from the start. What if the bunker's purpose was to study a nearby Fracture that has long since spread? Once the growth reaches the structure, it is only a matter of time until it has crystallized.

Though the senshi themselves prove to be immune, the same cannot be said for the other scientists and researchers who are there. Also important is that the senshi do not yet know of their divine protection, and would be eager to leave the haven as soon as possible.

That is about what I expected. If Tomoe disappears wouldn't Kyan be expected by him to watch over Hotaru? Or would she need to 'disappear' too?

I think that CJ's suggestion sounds like a great idea. Although the idea of initially scattering the senshi is a cool concept for the circumstances described in the plot summary, I believe that CJ's idea would help prevent the plot from starting with too much dragging and choppiness.

Sorry to keep everyone waiting! I plan to update the Storyline Information based on discussions held here, and once it is approved then I can open a Character Request Thread to gather further attention to fulfilling our needed roles.

P.S. I was thinking of letting people decide in advanced if Kyan would find their character's voice pleasant or not... Since she can hear things that humans can't, perhaps a person's voice would incorporate an essence of their soul frequency? In other words, the people with the kinder intentions would probably have nicer voices to Kyan? OR we could just use a randomizer to figure it out.

Well, my character is originally from the Moon, so I would imagine her voice would sound nice, but then again she is a villain xD

xD She can have a nice voice to Kyan. It doesn't really matter. xP I was just curious if anybody had a preference or not.

EDIT: Jasper, I had a question regarding the separate villain parties in the storyline. Will we be providing background information in our posts through flashbacks as to how they met (Selena and William & Anya and Professor Tomoe) or will that be something we actively illustrate in the beginning of the RP? I'm just curious because I will probably discuss a few things with Ray once he gets back from his short hiatus.

I was thinking to allude to it at a later time, so that it can be referenced in their own occassional posts without necessarily stealing the storyline flow.

Phew, what a busy week that was.

We're lacking our inner senshi at the moment, but we do have enough players to get started. Rather than begin right at Capsule 49, what if we instead used the first couple of opening posts to explore character interactions? And to ensure that Selena and Wilson aren't left out of the fun, part of their narrative can involve them reaching the shores of Australia.
