Cheating is wrong we all know that...but when they get punished its great...but the times when the game companies don't do anything about its VERY frustrating! (For use of a PG-13 n under term) Even when you go the the game website and tell someone about it, it takes forever! Sometimes I don't know why I play some games online. I mean yeah their might be some really cool collectable to get or player card in Madden football but is it really worth the risk when there could be those elite jerks out there that try and cheat the system to make it better for them and worse for me and most of all the "Casual gamer" that goes online to have fun and just play the dang game!! What REALLY sucks it that MOST of the cheaters that I have ran into online are in games I LOVE (Madden, other sports games etc.)

I apologies for this little rant but I also wanted to see if you guys have ever ran into a cheater and  what did you do and if the problem got resolved..

It sort of depends, are you talking about cheating in arcades, cheating in MMOs or cheating in multiplayer online console games?

Either way, in my experiences, the customer services always suck in regards to cheating-at least in MMOs. Those problems never got resolved and happened so often I just gave up reporting users since I knew nothing would come of it. I hope it turns out differently for you.

Generally if its cheating via online play on a console, i think it might depend on the console and the developer behind the game. I know Microsoft would ban accounts if they found you were cheating cause generally you had to illegally mod your xbox to do legitimate cheating. Not use stuff like "cheat codes" (those are legit ways of "cheating").

Im talking PS3 mostly but there are other ways to cheat in sports games without cheat codes.

Ah you were talking about illegal mods. Sorry, I don't know too much about that. ^^;

in the madden online mode they call it "Getting kicked for excessive griefing" and some other stuff.
