| Now I'm sure we all know, Sailor Luna in the PGSM series is rather polarizing for a lot of reasons, and I know people who both love and hate her. I won't say anything on the subject because I haven't seen her debut episode yet (but I will soon!). But how do you feel about Sailor Luna? Do you like her as a character, or do you feel she detracts from the show for whatever reason? Be civil about your discussions, please! |

| Although I felt she was kinda useless, I did like Sailor Luna. She was cute, and I thought giving Luna a chance to be a human was neat. I giggled quite a few times in scenes with Sailor Luna in it |

| I don't really care for her. I don't dislike her or anything, but it feels weird for her to be a child? Like, she's supposed to guide Usagi and the others, so to know all this time they've been led by a kid was weird, lol. It's just a matter of disconnect for me. |

Agreed on all of this. She was fun, but the show would've worked fine without her. |

| After seeing more episodes with her in it, I've come to this conclusion: ...I like her! Sure, her introduction does pose some problems, and her being turned into a human child doesn't exactly match her real character, but for the most part, she's not a bad character by any means, or even badly written. Personality wise, she's young and perky, but still retains a mentor-like nature without going too far nor is she pushy or annoying. I'm happy she's not bratty like anime!Chibiusa was. Plus, her attacks aren't comedic, they actually do decent damage to enemies, and she does make a genuine effort to help out the senshi whenever she can. I hear people compare her to Chibiusa, but I think that does a major disservice to Sailor Luna, because unlike Sailor Luna, Chibiusa was admittedly bratty and annoying, whereas Luna isn't, among the other reasons I stated above. |

| I think that Sailor Luna was a really suprising character!!
I remember back in 2004, that everyone talked about Chibiusa appearance in pgsm...but it turned out to be Sailor Luna!!
I have her doll...and she cost me a lot!! more than, let s say, Sailor Saturn doll with the correct boots!! |

| I like that they introduced her as a human, but I wish they did it in an adult form, like in the S movie(Hearts of Ice). |

| I have to agree with most of the posters here, it was weird having her turn into a child when she was never meant to be one. It would have gone better if she turned her human mau form, or just stayed a cat. |

| So, I am torn, because I love the idea of Luna having a chance to be a sailor senshi. But, yeah, no, I really did not want her to be a chibi sailor senshi. She has such a lovely human figure and, to me, it felt as if the concept was cheapened a bit by her becoming a child with attacks that were also rather childish.
But, of course, she was super adorable the entire time. Can't fault her for that, Sailor Luna is adorable. |

| I feel like she was a perfect fit for the live action because it's not really anything like the anime or manga and it just works better since they've all been changed so much. Granted I wouldn't have minded if Luna had become Sailor Mau in the manga but I adore her character in the tv show. It's really a kid's show to me like power rangers and I love kids shows I'm weird I know but that's why it seems like like the perfect fit to me. All the surprise moments you never thought possible were in this sailor moon show. The rest were really predictable. |

| I don't love the idea of Luna being significantly younger than the senshi because it conflicts with my view of her being the mentor figure. There wasn't an opportunity in the plot to throw in Chibiusa so I suppose they needed another young character for kids to relate to. PGSM often explored some pretty dark themes so the cheesiness of the cat plushies/Sailor Luna/etc. somewhat balanced out the mood. |

| I really enjoy the Sailor Luna character; I am definitely the target audience they had in mind creating her. I love her design—the yellow and violet colour combination really popped and didn't overlap any of the existing characters—and I thought it was an amusing way to give Luna an opportunity to be human within the live-action universe.
The points that others have made about her mentorship or position as an adult versus as a child are not things I disagree on. I'm fine with acknowledging that, but also enjoying the Sailor Luna character as she is without wanting to change anything about her. ♥ |

| I think Sailor Luna was a really cute concept, and also a good way to get away from having the puppet/CGI so often while not making Luna irrelevant. I definitely wouldn't say it's my favorite way to treat Luna, but one reason I love PGSM is because it shows a different side of things, and this is a perfect example of that! Not sure if I would have liked it as much in other versions. I also loved the actress, and I actually kinda liked the idea of them being mentored by a child, but I can see where people don't like that so much, too... In any case, one of the main reason I like it so much is that it helps to give Luna more of a unique personality from the other versions, and I really loved the characterization they gave to her! It allowed them to have that child senshi role without having Chibs and all the relationship and existential problems she brings (there are enough of those as it is). |

| Apparently I already voted in this poll but didn't post and... I forgot how I voted ^^;;. I think I may be the one vote for "neither". After reading others' opinions here and watching PGSM twice now (though only as recently as 2015ish), I do sort of appreciate the comic relief she brought at an otherwise pretty serious point in the series. I agree that it was a nice nod to Chibiusa in a way as well. Also, I do have some impression that the idea of a child as a mentor is actually something that's a common trope, though I've seen it more in Celtic and related cultures' stories (as little as I've read of those btw and current laziness to look anything up but in any case... XD). I think the idea of the child as a mentor is not to lead the protagonist to the "right" conclusion/path but to help direct them towards their true desires/dreams? In PGSM I think it works well because of Usagi's dual alternate identities. She needs help finding her true inner voice in a way and although Sailor Luna isn't directly responsible for the final conclusion, I think her presence is theoretically meant to help guide that process. - Spoiler:
In fact I guess you could say the lack of Sailor Luna's involvement in the conclusion sort of points out that her presence was needed in order to prevent calamity. But hey, at least Usagi has the healing power of the Silver Crystal xD.
The only reason I voted neither (or I think I did lol) is because although I appreciate her in PGSM, she's still my least favorite version of Luna. Probably just out of bias for the original manga - especially Usagi and Luna's relationship that grows there by the time S wraps up :p. I feel like perhaps Sailor Luna would have been a concept suited to a Myu as well, because these child mentors are commonly quite magical/mystical/mysterious and a sparkly costume and interpretive dance a la Pegasus from the Nelke series would have matched really well. But it'd have to be a one-off and an alternate story probably for it to work imo.

| Personally I didn't mind that she was a child, because they need that 'cute kid' draw to the show, but also because Luna was always supposed to look an seem about a year younger than Usagi anyway to begin with in the manga (and pressumably also in the 90s anime.). In the Artnotes, Naoko described Luna's physical appearance as that of being a year below Usagi's. (Meaning she's physically 13yrs old in human form at the start of the adventure and then physically she's 15 at the end in Stars.)
I don't think there's anything wrong with Luna in PGSM having a child form because mentally she's on par with Usagi or better. (I'm just sad that Artemis didn't get to turn into a little boy to match Luna. It would've been amusing.)
That said, I didn't like Sailor Luna at first but she grew on me. It's not bad. I think it worked out quite well. |

Thats sort of how I felt after my very first watch through of PGSM? I was in my late teens when I watched it and wasn't a huge fan of PGSM at the time either. Now, Luna is best girl and I love her. <3 Edit: I forgot to mention that her Sailor design was done by Naoko (since she had a good bit of input in PGSM from what I remember) and I remember the actress that played her mentioned that she went into the audition thinking it'd be the role of Chibiusa. They sure surprised her. xD |

| The first time i saw sailor luna i was just like this. Because of she is very different when she is luna the plush (more adult) and luna the human is... a teen. It's difficult to understand that she is the same character. But after, i love sailor Luna. She is courageous, and not just the usagi's "teacher". I like sailor luna and i don't like Chibi moon. It's a paradox but they are different. Because of i watched PGSM first, when i saw the anime, i remember i was just more surprised she is an adult and not a sailor !!! I would like a sailor Artemis xD but he is a boy so.. |

| I actually love Sailor Luna! I thought she was adorable, and even though I'll admit it felt a little bit weird to have Luna as a kid (since she's supposed to be like, the guardian of the guardians LOL), it wasn't too terribly out of place, given the fact that PGSM could have some pretty darn cheesy moments in-between all the darkness and angst. |

| I have to admit, the scene when she first appears (as a human) and she runs forward towards the camera and transforms into Luna the cat I was actually surprised (even though the girl had a tail and Luna colours). Which also makes me wonder: was that the last time Luna was cgi? I seem to remember that, as the season went on, the cats seemed to go from cgi to 'being pulled along on a wire.' |

| you know, I actually don't remember that! But that could almost be a topic in and of itself LOL
As for Sailor Luna, I just remembered something! Supposedly, when the auditions were open for Sailor Luna, it was initially thought that the people were auditioning for Chibiusa! (now take this with a grain of salt because I don't know if it was what everyone thought, or just the one who actually got the role XD)
as for her replacing Chibiusa, I don't think she was quite meant to do that, since Chibiusa is meant to be more inexperienced, which Sailor Luna is not. |

| I think Sailor Luna is an amazing character, but like everyone else says it would have been better if she is in the same age as the Sailor Senshi just like in the manga and the S movie. So that way her role as the mentor would make more sense. |
