All right, Denizens of the Galaxy Cauldron, I have a challenge for all of you! Choose a character and create a playlist of mostly non-SM songs that describe that character! Choose songs that describe their outlook on life, songs with lyrics that remind you of something they went through in the series, songs that you think that character would listen to, songs that just feel like that character!

If you can't think up a full playlist (as is my case xD) then just list songs specific to a character.


What I'd like to do is compile these lists to make a master playlist for Sailor Moon characters and host it somewhere like Grooveshark for everyone to listen to. ^^

This is brilliant! Although I do not have the time to properly listen to each of the songs that you have mentioned, I must admit that they look like wonderfully fitting choices for Endymion. I cannot wait to listen to them all.

What a great topic! However, I hope you don't mind that I'm going to submit individual songs. I'd rather focus on multiple characters...

Usagi to Mamoru after she's regained her memories and trying to get him back (in Classic and R). Well, pretty much any time they're separated which covers a SURPRISINGLY LARGE AMOUNT of episodes.

"Fallen" - The Attraction
There's a song that, that reminds me of you. There's a time and a place when we thought we'd knew I'd be there for you. It was you who I ran to. There's a place that, that reminds me of you when I drive to the top where the stars fall through. I'm making a wish that the stars lead me back to you

This can work for just Hotaru and her frailness. It works better for Rei to Minako from PGSM because it references saving someone from their sickness.

"Adalia" - Madina Lake (acoustic version only!)
She lives and breathes in a world that brought her to her knees. And now I'm addicted to her, 'cause that girl is just like me. And I'm gonna choke on her life again, breathing it in like a deadly poison. I just want to get through to her before her last breath

Rei depressed with loneliness due to the gap her mother left after her death (before she met the inner senshi).

"Me vs. The World" - Madina Lake

Michiru's indecisiveness/solitary resolve to not "awaken" Haruka and her hopeless longing. Also, the song has a beautifully subdued tone that just suits the adult nature of their relationship.

"I'm Yours" - Repeat Offender
Distraction, distraction - the one thing she needs now to take her mind.
The one thing that made her say goodbye. Consider this part just relating to Haruka.

Reflections, reflecting that shivier feeling embraced tonight. You compound torment with these lies.

She waits forever, and today she waits to feel this once again. She waits to tell somebody else... "I'm yours"

I'll probably be hopping in and out with individual songs, to be honest. But here! I have one to start with, which unfortunately requires a bit of translation.


Elever (Students) by Kent is a song which I think I associate mostly with Sailor Saturn, but possibly a bit with the outer senshi in general.

As an extra note, the milky way in Swedish is called Vintergatan, which means literally The Winter Road. Which I think is an awesome name. (Sometimes you see actual roads called Vintergatan too, haha.) But yeah, this song. Kind of sad and conflicted and confused and sitting on the edge of big, scary things. It sure happened too fast...

Thanks for the translation. I think it's beautiful that the Milky Way is referred to as the Winter Road. However, I'm slightly upset at it too. Winter has a dark association. When I think of the Milky Way, I think more positively. It's the origin of fantasy for me when Winter makes me think of death and stillness.

Well, think of it like this - we don't actually see it all summer! but it's incredibly crisp and clear on winter nights, and up here it really does look like a road of stars across the sky. It's one of the gorgeous things about winter here. ^^

This song reminds me of the deep bond that Usagi and Rei have and how Rei has sacrificed herself more than once for Usagi.

(Im a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR Nirvana fan..so each person is getting a Nirvana song, You can disregard them is you'd like, my feelings won't be hurt )

This song just reminds me over her personality and how she dreams of fame

Crosstown Traffic-Jimi Hendrix
I'm not 100% sure why it reminds me of Minako but, it does...its the sound that just does it...and the yellows on the album cover I think do it too...

I think this song hits on Mako's tomboyish side and her need to defend
