Greetings!

It's been eons since the last time I've joined a discussion forum (my nickname probably shows that but I gave up and I'll keep it anyway) but I figured that just this once I could. I've known Sailor Moon for a while now but never could watch it when younger since it "wasn't for boys" and finally started between 2004 and 2006 with PGSM. Afterwards came the anime, Crystal, sera myu and I do believe I'm all caught up, having watched every old sera myu available and the new ones also.

I loved PGSM, I loved the anime (though I didn't really like the first part of season 2, the season 3 (despite loving Saturn) and the second part of season 4), I loved Crystal despite being disappointed by how some characters were disposed of, I loved both new and old sera myu equally and I finally decided to start the manga.

I'm more of a villain fan (or redeemed villain depending who) and I more or less like the Senshi. I do like the Starlights however, since it brought a whole new level of moral conflicts (although I prefer them in the anime rather than the manga). The story needs the Senshi though, don't get me wrong, without them it probably would be insanely boring and it wouldn't be Sailor Moon, but yeah.

I'll apologize for any mistakes there is in this text and will be elsewhere since english is not my first language, I'm french canadian. Also sorry for the text vomit, I'm done with the introductions now I guess. Despite the fact my tastes are written here, there is no main characters that I really hate, so take my opinions more like preferences than judgements.

Since you said you're more of a villain fan...which SM villain is your favorite? And which one is your favorite of the Solar System Senshi (though you don't like them that much I'm sure there's one you liked more than the others )? Also, are there animes other than Sailor Moon that you enjoyed? (:

As for the villains, it's slightly hard to choose. My favorites would be the Shitennou (though I love them in the anime, I prefer them as guards of Endymion which they are in every other adaptations more or less). I love the Black Moon clan and the Amazon Trio.

I don't have a favorite in the Inner Senshi, they're all at the same level for me but I can tell you what I like of them. I love their loyalty to each and every of them. We often forget they're teenagers basically, so yeah, it's kinda impressive their character development.

I love Pluto most in the Outer Senshi. I have no reasons, I just do. I love when Saturn arrives in the Sera Myu because I love her theme song. Uranus and Neptune caught my eyes also in Sera Myu more than any other adaptation.

I stopped watching anime for a while now, I'm more TV Series and Movies, but Tytania is a title that comes to mind. I used to watch a lot of things, from Shojo to Shonen. If there's an interesting psychological development, I usually like it.

Hmmm, I don't think I love a version more than another. It would be more something along the line of: I prefer [Spoiler?!] Diamond's death in the anime than in Crystal. I haven't read his manga's yet but eh. Though I love the Starlights in both the anime and the manga, I prefer the take we see in the anime. I prefer the Shitennou in Crystal and PGSM than in the anime (because they're Endymion's guards in both) but I loved some Shitennou storylines in the anime that weren't used elsewhere.

As for PGSM, Sailor Mars, I'd say if you stay open minded and ignore the special effects, you could like it. It has a good story, but it strays a bit of the manga/anime story. The action starts sooner than in the anime though that's for sure.

I've read as of now 3-4 manga of the Stars Arc and been struggling with the first ones of the Dark Kingdom Arc (mostly because it's the same introduction seen in the anime and crystal which can become tedious). But I have found every Arcs so I'm currently reading them since it's the last adaptation I have not completely explored.

Well, crystal did try to properly adapt the first two arcs of the manga. (And failed at the first arc.)

But yeah, the manga was the first medium I experienced insideout and backwards. Do you have your own copies or do you read them online?

I'm more partial to the second half of PGSM where we see more of the Shitennou and where the action is faster, but I do love everything anyway.
I have two favorite episodes and it would be 43 and 44 I believe (I have trouble with remembering the good numbers, but I should be right for these two) where it is more focused on Zoisite and Endymion, Zoisite being (to answer your last question), my favorite character.
But there's nothing really I don't like in PGSM. Sure the special effects are crappy and the Youma are hilariously ridiculous (as were those of the anime anyway), but there were efforts given to the story and characters so I usually don't count them as bad points.

Oh yes, maybe the plushie cats. Maybe. But CGI costs a lot so I was not surprised.

Cosmos-Hime: I'm sure once I get past the senshi introduction I won't be able to stop so I'm not worried much. The '90s anime killed the buzz of discovering the senshis to be honest. (I think it took almost 30-40 episodes to have the five of them together?).
Unfortunately it's not easy where I live to find stuff in english and I dislike most of french translations, so I read them in english and online. I might buy the newly released one in french just as a participation (I always prefer buying them, it shows to the market it is appreciated).
What is your favorite arc if I may ask?

I would ask you who your favorite villain is, but it seems that somebody has already done so.    Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time on the forums!
