Appearance: Tall enough to look the average human man in the eyes, she stands at 5 feet and 9 inches tall, sometimes taller whenever she wears boots. Sehmirya is a dark beauty, with light to medium brown smooth skin and dark forest green straight hair that reaches a little past her knees. She usually wears it with the sides brushed back and part of it gathered up into a bun on the top of her hair and loose bangs which touch the top of her eyes. Occassionally when she wants it out of the way, she'll bind the bottom part of it to create a low ponytail of sorts. She has dark red eyes that reveal how old she is, though she looks like she's only 25 years old physically. She also has pointed ears that reveal her race as an elf, though if she hides them she could pass for an exquisitely beautiful human woman.

As a dragon rider, she tends to prefer close fitting pants of woven fabric or leather to allow for easy movement, with a belt or cincher to help hold it up. As for a shirt, she will typically choose sleeveless tops with gold lining, as she likes to leave her arms bare, which allows her to better feel the air and wind, and understand nature. During cold weather, she will tolerate sleeves to help keep her warm. Usually prefers boots, which allow her to run over terrain easily.

When she is not in rider garb, she will dress like any elf. She will typically prefer skirts of flowing fabrics of varying styles, and when casual, she does not mind sleeves of any style. Her favorites are puffed and ribbons which twist around her arms and attach to her wrists with bracelets. Otherwise she will wear dresses, floor length, ankle length or even knee length if she decides. She will typically wear sandals or else flats, or during celebrations in the forest, she will go barefoot.

Most of the time, she carries her sword with her on a belt. For jewelry, she is known for wearing a gold fillagree choker with a fair sized oval garnet stone in the center. She also wears an upper arm twisting gold band, which is lined with a ruby, a diamond and a dark emerald. She also wears cut garnet earrings. Her sword belt is woven leather, with a hidden panel that reveals 4 cut diamonds have been set into the belt.

She rarely wears makeup, thinking it mainly a human fancy, but once in a while she does enjoy using a little eyeshadow and lipshine. Her usual colors of choice for clothing are dark greens bordering on black, gold, black, but she will wear various shades of all other colors.

Personality: Sehmirya is an elegant elf, even among her own kind. Even when she was a child, she had a sense of timelessness to her personality, and often was able to give good advice. But for some reason, even among the elves, she tends to feel a little lonely, though she can never understand why, but sewing usually seems to help ease this emotion in her. She discovered an early love for history, and usually learns as much as she can, from elves and books alike.

She also has an excellent memory, and is usually able to recall past events and information she has learned whenever needed. She usually prefers to be refined, but she is not able being playful and even teasing of people she feels comfortable with. Like many elves, she has a deep love for the arts of many kinds, and enjoys singing particularly. She likes poetry, but has never had the talent of writing any herself. She does not weep easily, but very beautiful things can sometimes make her cry a little.

She is very kind and tries to be helpful whenever she can, and will usually be willing to take leaps of faith, such as trusting people until they prove themselves untrustworthy. She is protective of her friends, of nature and of children especially, taking on the elfin mentality that children are infinitely precious, and a treasured gift. She has a strong will, and great inner strength born of her years, and fully understanding herself to the point that she knows her true name, and she does not get flustered easily.

On the flip side, sometimes she can be too serious and severe. And if someone insults anything she believes in, or threatens it, she can be even a little vicious, a trait she's picked up slightly from Threyth. She will not hesitate to kill someone or something if she must, but only if she must. And sometimes her patience runs short, even when she knows she shouldn't get upside, and she will yell at someone for being overly foolish. At times of elfin celebrations or when she's had too much strong drink, she throws off her sophisticated air and becomes very passionate and open and lively, rather like a human teenager.

She doesn't really have any dreams, though she is intent on becoming a wise master dragon rider, acknowledging she only have a medium level of skill as a dragon rider and that she has much to learn yet. So often when she is not relaxing, she is out flying with Threyth and training together in new maneuvers. She doesn't have any intimate relationships, though she's had her fair share of dalliances over her long life and during celebrations. She has a small handful of friends among the elfin community and the rider community, but has yet to learn how to truly open herself up.

She does not hate humans but she doesn't especially care about them, though she thinks their history rather interesting and that they can manage to do so much in so little a lifespan. As for dragons, like any elf, she holds an immense respect and somewhat awe of them and their abilities. Many dragons she remains formal with, but only with Threyth does she act familiar. She considers dwarves to be excellent craftsmen, though few match the skill of an elf, but will reluctantly admit they are better at brewing fine drinks to lift and intoxicate the spirit.

Like any elf, she is a vegetarian, and does not like the concept of consuming flesh, though she doesn't condemn others such as humans who do it. She especially prefers salads, teas and bread. Occassionally she will enjoy things such as an egg, but only if she is certain there was never any potential for life, and makes no qualms about eatting other things such as cheese, milk or butter.

History: Sehmirya was born to joyful parents centuries ago, and never lacked for care as she grew up, since elves rarely are able to have children. She was a rare special case in that she was able to grow up with a few agemates, a luxury not usually afforded to many elves. She became a seamstress early in life, around her second hundred years, enjoying the process of weaving and sewing clothes surrounded and guided by the silent music of the forest. She began often creating her own clothes, or else making clothes as gifts for friends and family, and using them for bartering for things she needed.

She learned like any elf child to use a sword, and bow and arrows, though she developed a special fondness for rods and poles for fighting, and became among the most skilled in this simple weapon, to the point she made a deal with the forger to craft her a beautiful metal pole that could be collapsed, and usually carries it with her wherever she goes. She never expected her life to be especially eventful, and thus was surprised when a dragon egg hatched for her when she was in the early years of her second millenium. She accepted the dragon gracefully, naming him Threyth and bonded with him easily and quickly.

After he hatched, they traveled together to the dragon rider's island, where the elders and leaders lived the majority of the time. There they were trained in the ways of being a dragon rider along with other humans and elves who had been chosen by their hatchlings, taught how to use their powers together and fine tune their abilities. It wasn't until her 2,329th birthday that she finished her training along with Threyth, and they were declared capable rider and mount. Rather than returning home, she decided to travel the world with Threyth, to learn more of what the world could offer.

It was during this traveling time that an evil king was rumored to be killing dragons, and Sehmirya and Threyth were called back to the dragon rider's island home, where it was revealed there was indeed such an evil king who was killing dragons, and it was discussed what would be done with him. It was agreed a group of five would go to parlay with him, or else otherwise stop his destruction. Sehmirya and Threyth readily agreed to be one of the five.

Weapons or Magical Items: A dark red sword with a garnet gem pommel at the top of the hilt. Sehmirya named it Lykil at the time of its completion, which means "Key" in the ancient language and a metal rod staff which can be folded to a smaller size for easy carrying. Also the gemstones she wears over her body in her jewelry and belt, which she uses to store extra energy whenever she can spare it.

Guardian: A very dark red male dragon, whose scales usually recall the color of dried blood and whose eyes swirl like bottomless quicksilver, and his horn looks very much like polished garnet gemstone, and his claws are ivory. He is very large, big enough that it would take 5 barrels of strong dwarven brew to make him drunk, and a decent meal is about 3 full sized cows. His wingspan measures about 60 feet when fully expanded. His name is Threyth, which means Gate Keeper in the ancient language. He is very dignified and noble, and very mature, and will only show his full talent in order to silence someone who brags too loudly. But despite his sophistication, he is not above breaking the rules when he feels he must, or if the outcome is worth it.

He dearly loves his rider Sehmirya and would gladly give his life for her, often expressing his relief that he was able to bond with a noble elf rather than a possibly crude human with only a few notable characteristics. Enjoys curling around Sehmirya when she reads history and poetry from books, and often wishes he had less sharp claws in order to turn the pages himself, and very much enjoys it when Sehmirya takes time to polish his horns and help sharpen them properly. Like any dragon, he is capable of telepathy with any living creature, and this is his main means of communication.



RP Sample: Sehmirya sat on the edge of the window for her room, her legs slightly pulled up with a book resting in her lap. Her head was tilted, resting against her lightly curled fist as her other hand lightly turned a page of the book. The sound of birds from the surrounding buildings and the soft faint chatter of the other riders below, or the occassional trumpeting of a dragon provided comfortable background noise as she read her book.

She smiled softly in amusement at the picture in the book. A touch to her mind made her look up though, and she smiled at the dark red dragon glinting in the sun as it winged towards her window. “Threyth. How was your hunting, my friend?” She spoke mentally to the dragon as he landed on the edge of the window large enough to admit him. He settled his wings against his back, his bright but timeless silver eyes looking down on her as his rumbling voice responded in her mind.

“Excellent. The prey was worthy, and my hunger is satisfied for now. What are you reading?” She smiled a bit at his interest, certainly not unexpected, and shifted the book a bit as she spoke aloud now that he was there. “One of our favorites. History of the leader of the riders. Would you like to hear a bit while your meal settles?” She shifted her body now, moving so that she saw a bit forward of her previous position, an invitation for him to join her in her spot.

The dragon gave a soft pleased rumbling, getting down on all four clawed feet as he wound himself sinuously around the room, settling his body up against a wall opposite to her bed and curled his neck around behind her, so that his head could rest next to hers and look down on the book with a single eye. “I would like that, Sehmirya. Your reading is soothing. And it is fascinating to know of the leaders past, and what deeds they have done in comparison to our leaders now.” He rumbled mentally. Sehmirya gave a light nod of agreement before she began reading from the book aloud now, occassionally punctuated with pleased rumbling growls from her dragon mount.

You can add it whenever. Some roleplayers prefer to add it before, some during, some after. As long as it gets added eventually, I don't think it matters.
