Minako's quick defense wasn't wholly unexpected - she wasn't exactly known for appreciating school rules - but the immediate assurance that she wasn't guilty caught his attention. An eyebrow raised, he was about to ask her what exactly she "didn't do" when the blonde's voice exploded in his ear with a loud, disbelieving, callous 'YOU!' that made him clench, but not quite jump back in alarm.

The room quieted as she blushed furiously, covering her mouth. A subtle glance around showed that at least everyone on the Ravenclaw and Slythern tables were looking at them, if not more of the Great Hall. He straightened, getting a better hold on his books, and replied softly, "Me. What are you still doing here, Puffskein-Head? Visitation day ended eighteen hours ago. Shouldn't you be back at your own school?"

"I... I, um, I go here now," she replied, trying to keep her own voice down, knowing that most of the dining hall was staring at her. Her face was still flushed with embarrassment and now something like nervousness, although she wasn't sure why she felt that way around a jerk like this. She kept her eyes cast downward, looks frequently darting towards Ami or Minako for just a second. She couldn't quite explain it, but eye contact with him was making her heart beat uncomfortably in her chest. Maybe she was allergic to him.

Usagi was not enjoying this turn of events. She was supposed to be enjoying Ami and Minako's agreement to spend the evening with her, planning what they might do together. (Did wizard schoolgirls enjoy different activities than Muggle schoolgirls?) Instead, she was faced with this guy, asking questions again, questions she wasn't sure she could answer without giving away information that the Headmistress had told her not to talk about. Why was he so nosy? Were all the Prefects at Hogwarts going to be like this? If so, she suspected she did not have the kind of silver tongue needed to distract them.

"And these aren't Puffskeins!" she said, still blushing, with a gesture to her hairstyle. "They're buns!"

Thankfully this time she kept her voice down. Mostly. As much as could be expected from Usagi, anyway.

She goes here now? Hogwarts is a school of Witchcraft and Wizardry - it's right in the name - why would a non-magical person be allowed to go here? It had never happened before; or, at least, he didn't think it had happened before, he'd have to check Hogwarts, a History to be absolutely sure, but why this particular non-magical person would be allowed to come above others was completely beyond him. She seemed to be loud, distractable, hyperactive and easily got herself into troublesome situations; hadn't the school had enough of that already?

Her defense of her buns was cute though. He smiled softly, and then immediately wiped that look off his face. ! Well not cute-cute - she definitely wasn't cute, not in the slightest. ... but she was fun to mess with. "They look like Puffskeins to me," he returned in lieu of a farewell and left the group to find the head of his house to ask him some questions about this 'new student'.

When he walked away Usagi nearly flopped into Ami and Minako's arms. Her eyes were almost closed and her brow furrowed in retained stress from the situation just passed. Her cheeks were still bright, although the flush was slightly dying down now that she lacked exposure to the source of frustration.

"Ugh, why him," she whined. "He took all the fun out of lunch."

Why was it that whenever she saw him, she couldn't stop thinking about him? His confused and disapproving expression loomed in her mind. Those blue eyes that she couldn't bear to look directly into without feeling her colour rising now haunted her mind, twisting her emotions inside. He was so much quieter today, but she remembered his impassioned arguments during their first meeting. That kind of feeling still stirred in her chest, anxious and spirited. There was so much she wanted to say to him, but she didn't want to yell at him in the middle of the dining hall any more than she already had.

Plus, her friends were here. She stared up at them with a pitiable shine to her eyes, wide and thankful.

"I'm so glad you guys are here. I think that's why he left so quickly."

Minako stuck her tongue out at Mamoru the second her turned his back. "Don't worry about him. All prefects have their wands stuck up their bums," she said to Usagi. They all thought they were a cut above the rest... "That's how the professors pick them out. Where'd you meet Mamoru anyway?"

The way the two had gone at it, they clearly recognized each other, but Usagi had only been here for visitation day before now.

She puffed out her cheeks, annoyed even recollecting their encounter.

"I got separated from my family yesterday. That's when I met him," she sighed. "He yelled at me for not following the rules."

"Mamoru"--so that was his name. It sounded... nice. It had a ring to it that made her think she could have been fond of it, if the young man attached to it could have been a little bit better. Possibly a lot better. He didn't look awful, at least, but that attitude... ugh. Nope.

At least her new friend was on her side! Usagi appreciated Minako's reaction, especially when she stuck her tongue out when he wasn't looking. She felt a little bit better about running into that guy during her lunch hour. Maybe she could forget it and enjoy the rest of the day.

Makoto still couldn’t believe that she had been dragged into going to the Headmistress’ Office that day. The petite blonde that didn’t seem to poses any magic had held a dangerous gem in her palm without it even harming her. Yet she had been invited to study at Hogwarts, a first Makoto was sure, in the school’s long history. There was so much for Makoto that didn’t make any sense.
 
Having been drawn over by the commotion the blonde girl and the Raveclaw Prefect…what was his name again? Mamoru? Makoto stopped to stay beside Minako.
 

“Do I dare ask what’s going on?”

After the meeting in Headmistress’s office, Artemis went back to his own office, drinking his tea and eventually went to bed. However, he couldn’t sleep. His thoughts about the incident, the girl, the crystal – they wouldn’t let go of him.

How was she able to control the crystal without getting any damage? How was she able to know that the troll wasn’t a troll? How was she, a squib, able to do all that?
And what was all that with the prophecy? Of course he knew that Divination teachers weren’t right in their heads but still…what was all that about? Seven crystals that would awaken a great power? And can only be wielded by a young girl? Was she trying to bolster the young girl up by indicating that she was the one they were looking for?
 
Or was there any truth behind it?
 
Seconds, minutes, yes, even hours passed, but eventually the young professor finally entered the dream world.

And now here he was again. Sitting on his renowned chair and looking out of the window. Here he saw the troll the first time, the troll who attacked his mentee and her friends. Oh, good old time.
 
As he finished his morning coffee, he slowly stretched himself, squinting his eyes and yawning. How should he teach his class when he only had such a short night?
Sighing he got up, grabbing his brief case and headed to his class room, ready to teach his students once the lunch hour was over.

Usagi's eyes lit up to see another friend from yesterday, her expression instantly blossoming from dejected to thrilled.

"Makoto!" she exclaimed, chirping like an overly-large and pigtailed excited canary. "You're here, too!"

She made a face at the taller girl's question, immediately thinking of the Prefect and his Prefect-i-ness.

"Just some guy. He left. Good riddance!"

Her hopeful face turned towards yet another target, and she repeated her story about moving into the dorms this evening and wanting to have a "slumber party", of sorts, within the guidelines of Hogwarts for curfew and allowable behaviours.

"Would you join us? Please?"

Rei had planned on staying in her dorm for lunch that day, but some inkling feeling in the back of her head told her to go to the Great Hall today.

Usagi had been on Rei's mind ever since the incident. The feeling that being around Usagi gave Rei was so foreign, and Rei knew it was more than Usagi's personality that made her feel this way. Rei considered speaking with the divination professor, since that was the only person Rei trusted in this school, but for some reason she couldn't. She kept her thoughts to herself, reflecting over everything the Headmistress had said.

The Great Room was full of students, as usual, making Rei immediately regret coming here. Her eyes immediately landed on two sets of blonde hair and Ami's unique blue hair, and her feet began to carry her to them. She suddenly froze as a familiar handsome Prefect approached her 'friends'. Her heart was thumping wildly in her chest, resonating in her ears. Chiba Mamoru, the most handsome guy at Hogwarts, was standing only a few feet away from her. The next few minutes seemed to pass by in a blur, and by the time Rei came back to her senses, Mamoru was gone and Makoto had joined the group at the table. Heaving a sigh, Rei tossed her long hair over her shoulder and sat down on Ami's other side. She didn't say anything, just started to put food onto her plate.

When Rei arrived, serenely gliding into the dining hall as though she was above all of the hustle and bustle of other students, her long dark hair floating behind her, Usagi couldn't have asked for more. She was here, at Hogwarts, and she was now surrounded by her friends. Although Rei sat down without saying a word, Usagi did not interpret her actions as cold or standoffish. (Those were not exactly words often-used in the blonde girl's observations of others.) She immediately greeted the final arrival of the four established students, launching into her tale of moving into the dorm and wanting to spend time with everyone together. Usagi was not above begging, and beg she did.

"I'm so glad to see all of you!" she continued, now addressing the group. "After everything yesterday it almost kinda seemed like a dream."

What she really wanted to talk about was the stuff from yesterday--the gemstone and her sudden acceptance to this school despite her status--but even she understood that this was not the right place. Even in a wizard school, not all topics were fit for all ears.

"Do you usually eat lunch together?" She wasn't sure how much the different houses usually interacted. It looked pretty well-mixed when she glanced around, but there were a few pockets of same-coloured robed students.

Ami had never seen someone so excited to have her company. It was such a wonder. How could she be so interesting to Usagi? She was just the boring studious Ravenclaw girl.

When suddenly she heard a boy’s voice, she turned, and was shocked to find Mamoru Chiba, the Fifth Year Prefect. She was immediately flustered, thinking she had done something wrong, until she realized he was talking to Usagi. Wait… how did they know each other?

Then Usagi practically yelled at him, shocking Ami. What—how—you don’t yell at a Prefect like that!

Mamoru did not seem impressed. He called Usagi ‘Puffskein-Head’, which again shocked Ami, because she never imagined an excellent and proper upperclassman like him would ever resort to name-calling, especially toward a girl. Ami’s adoration and all her image of Mamoru’s coolness shattered a little bit.

Usagi’s obvious embarrassment made Ami immediately want to hug her and tell her everything was going to be okay. Mamoru had no idea she went here now—it was all just a misunderstanding, right?

Indeed, once he got his answer, he left, but not without teasing Usagi about her hairstyle once more. Usagi seemed stressed out by the encounter but also immensely grateful they were there, which made Ami feel valued. It was rare that she felt that way outside of class. She listened to Usagi explain that she and Mamoru had met on visitation day, and Ami had to wonder what rule Usagi was breaking at the time. She thought it was rude to ask, though.

Mako and Rei joined them soon, and Usagi invited them as well. When she asked about them eating lunch together, Ami finally found her voice again.

“We do lately… people from different houses don’t usually hang out with each other, but we just… kind of formed our own group I guess.” Ami pondered about Usagi’s mysterious background for a bit, then said, “Usagi, listen… since you never knew magic before, it might be difficult to keep up with the classes here. I want you to know that you can ask for my help anytime if you’re struggling.”

She genuinely meant it, because she couldn’t imagine how it would feel for a Squib to suddenly be dumped in front of all this magical stuff. She knew if she were in Usagi’s position, she would be terrified and feeling incredibly overwhelmed.

She did not need to be prompted to accept Ami's extremely kind offer. Of course, the blue-haired student probably didn't realize what she was getting herself into. Non-wizard school was already a struggle for Usagi. She hated waking up early, for starters, and most of the topics for class were sooooooo boringgggg. At the moment, she was convinced that all of the subjects for her new classes were going to be amazing and interesting and the best ever, but that bubble would be burst the moment she actually attended a lecture. School in the wizarding world wasn't very similar to the one she had left behind, but it was similar enough.

"Really, Ami?" she replied, eyes shimmering with adoration. She coughed slightly and tried to look a little bit less desperate, being only moderately successful at doing so. "I mean, thank you, hopefully I will be okay, but I might not be okay, and if I'm not okay then I will definitely love your help."

Ami must be pretty smart just to even offer any kind of tutoring. Her new friends were full of surprises! She couldn't wait to get to know them more.

"Yah, umm sure," Makoto said, taking a seat beside Ami. It wasn't very usual for this many people from all the houses to sit together and eat. Usually it was maybe a few friends form a different house joining another houses table for a meal, but not one from every house. Mostly no one got along with the Slytherins, and the Gryffindors and Slytherins were barely on speaking terms most of the time. 

This is going to be interesting, she thought.

This year promised to be interesting. There had been rumors of some commotion caused during the visitation day – which Nephrite didn't attend, like hell his parents were going to show up – and he was quite curious as to know what had happened. But he was for once minding his own business when a very high voice screamed in the whole Great Hall. It was just a word, but it was enough to catch his attention – and annoyance.

He recognized Mamoru – what had he done for the girl to act up like that – Minako of course, what even was she doing there anyway? And three other different girls from different houses. One eyebrow slowly raised as he got to the conclusion those girls were all going to eat together with a random girl that had weird hair, a very unnerving voice and a face he'd never seen before. Was she a new student? He couldn't see her house from where he was sitting, but it wasn't as unusual as the reunion going on.

Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

Minako was associating herself with some weird people.


Though... now that he thought about it, it could be entertaining. With a grin, he started eating, subtly catching glimpses of what was happening on the other table from time to time.

Once the Family Visitation Day was over, Zoisite returned to the daily grind. It had been a nice change to see his parents after all that time again. Just a few days ago, his father told him, he got 150 new wands in stock which did both, checkmating the competition and giving him the chance to invest in the Slytherin Quidditch team, thanks to the new revenues. Yes, at the moment everything seemed perfect. Not that he only got a perfect score in the last tests - no, now he could even tell the others from the new investments they got.

For now, however, he should better eat lunch.

Entering the Great Hall, Zoisite took his plate and searched for a seat, preferably next to someone he knew. He didn't need the bother of a stranger right now.
And his attitude about strangers immediately got confirmed as he saw the two blondes who troubled Mamoru for no reason. He snorted. Annoying squib.

From the rumors he heard, some kind of incident had happened on the Visitation Day - an incident the squib with the odangos was involved in. He didn't know why she was here now, considering that she was nothing but a squib, nor why she was yelling at Mamoru. She should be grateful to be here instead of causing trouble.

With a criticizing look on his face, he eventually let go of the scene, continuing the search for a seat when he eventually found Nephrite in the middle of the students. A faint smile came up, happy that at least one person was normal here, as he sat down next to him.

The makeshift dorm that Usagi was assigned to was in an area of the castle usually off-limits to students. The small room was not protected by a magical password or trick, unlike the house dormitories, but it was directly adjacent to the teachers' quarters. Even if it weren't for the physical proximity of school staff, she had the feeling at least the entrance was being monitored, probably with magic.

It was set up with the typical comforts of a Hogwarts dormitory--a large wooden four-poster bed with heavy dark gold curtains. A matching wooden nightstand cabinet stood beside the bed, topped with a small brass lamp. A small fireplace in the corner of the room provided a warm glow and golden light to the room. In front of it was a worn red velvet armchair, buried beneath a pile of uniform articles. Looking around at the mismatched colour scheme, it was clear that the furniture was assembled from "leftovers" from dorms of all houses. Her trunk laid open on the floor, spilling forth clothing and other objects. A few opened boxes sat nearby. Usagi was not a light packer; she seemed to have more belongings than she did space to put them.

Soon her friends would arrive, and she was trying her best to figure out where to store everything. It was starting to look like her best course of action was "shoved under the bed", for now. At least she had snacks, and the small fire made the room seem cozy. It was strange to not be at home, with Mama and Papa to take care of her. Obviously she wasn't a child, but she hadn't been separated from her parents like this before. Being alone in the dorm was eerie. She hoped one of her new friends would arrive soon.

It was weird being here. It was the teachers’ quarters area, and it felt like forbidden territory. Ami had found Usagi’s room by following the direction given by the blonde to get there, but when she stopped in front of the door, she was suddenly seized by paranoia. What if this was the wrong door? What if she knocked and a teacher poked their head out and demanded to know what she was doing in this wing at all? Was Usagi even allowed to have visitors here? Ami regretted not checking with a teacher first if it was okay for her to be here. She did so hate breaking rules.

After counting the steps and doors obsessively a couple more times and making 100% sure she was on the right one, Ami knocked it timidly, her heart beating loud and nerves gripping all part of her. She really, really hoped Usagi was the one who would appear. The girl’s presence here had really shaken a lot of things and created so many changes to the status quo.

Was she really the chosen one the prophecy spoke of? It was her curiosity that drove her forward and kept her promise to be here today despite all her reservations.

When she opened the door and saw Ami, Usagi nearly hugged the other girl. She nearly didn't hear the noise, at first, as the blue-haired girl's knock was gentle and soft...but Usagi was so excitedly waiting for her friends to arrive that she kept bounding to the door at regular intervals. Luckily one of those moments had been just in time to find Ami waiting outside.

"Amiiiiii!" the blonde trilled, grabbing her new friend's hand even if she didn't completely hug her. "Oh, I'm so glad you're here! Please come in! Please, please!"

She dropped the other girl's hand as she gestured to invite her inside. Once inside, she spun around and presented her new room.

"What do you think? Look, it has a fire and everything. It's like something out of a storybook!"

Usagi's interactions with the wizard world had been limited in scope until now, as she had never been an involved part of it as much as she was an observer and outsider. This was going to be her first night in a boarding school for magic-users, finally part of that grand rite of passage that she had thought barred to her forever. And she had friends here! She hoped the others would be arriving soon! ♥

So this was the teacher's area... Minako had never dared to go near this part of the castle before, mostly because the professors tended to keep a closer eye on her in case she had any "clever ideas". You set off a firecracker in a hallway once... But now that she had a legitimate reason to be hanging around, she felt a little more confident. She found Usagi's door easily, and saw that it was open. Minako could hear her voice even from down the hall, so she decided to peek in.

Usagi's dorm was like a mix of other dorms, and she could even recognize bits of Slytherin furniture in a few places. Ami was already there, and Usagi seemed to be giving the girl a tour.

"They gave you this whole room to yourself?" Minako asked, stepping inside. "You're pretty lucky, we have to split dorms between 4 people each!" Not to mention being in the dungeons. Minako would kill to have a private room some days...

Usagi whirled around upon hearing Minako's voice, her blue eyes lighting up with joy. If only Makoto and Rei would join them, it would truly be exactly the kind of evening she had hoped for. She was far too excited to be homesick for Mama and Papa when surrounded by friends like this.

"They said it was all they had," Usagi explained, replying to Minako's question about roommates. "I guess they never expected to have a student who wouldn't be sorted..."

For a moment her thoughts started to drift towards her strange status here--a magic-less squib, a total misfit--but she shook it away. This was no time to dwell on unhappy thoughts!

Makoto couldn't help but appreciate the size of the room that Usagi had to herself. She was so lucky having this room that was normally split between four students all on her own. The brunette couldn't help but smile at the image of all the mismatched furniture an colors from the different houses, it was almost as if this room alone represented unity between the houses. Don't be silly, you're reading too much into things. 

"I don't think there has ever been a student who hasn't been sorted before," she looked to Ami to confirm what she was saying to be true.

Usagi couldn't even imagine trying to cram four people into a room of this size. She didn't know how more than maybe two beds could be fit into such a space. If it didn't have the armchair by the fireplace maybe that's where the second bed could go. After all, this wasn't a real dormitory chamber, just an unused room in the same wing as the teacher's living quarters. Usagi wondered if this is what the junior teachers lived in, this kind of "sitting room-slash-bedroom" combination. She had heard from Shingo that the house dormitories had shared spaces for lounging. It was kind of disappointing that she couldn't take advantage of that kind of setup.

"Here, I have snacks!" she announced, bounding towards the somewhat sloppy setup of her various favourites from the non-Wizard world. After all, she was a squib and had lived in the non-magical regions of London all her life. It wouldn't be exotic to the others--most if not all of them didn't exist solely on things from the Wizard world--but she hoped they wouldn't mind her choices.

Rei walked through the teacher's quarters, her conscience battling between whether to keep going or turn around and go back to her own dorm. As much as spending time with her new 'friends' was enjoyable to Rei, she didn't want to get too attached. She told herself that she was only doing this for Usagi, but she didn't know if that was entirely true or not.

The teacher's quarters wasn't entirely unfamiliar to Rei - she had come here several times throughout her childhood with her father - so she didn't waste any time checking anything out on her way to Usagi's room. By the time she arrived, the rest of their group was already there.

"Hey, sorry I'm late," she said, stepping in and closing the door behind her. She was surprised to see that Usagi had this room all to herself, but then again, what did she expect? Usagi sharing a room with the Headmistress?

"Nice place," she commented, approaching an armchair and sitting on the arm. She eyed the pile of Muggle snacks, pretending not to be interested even though she had a secret fetish for junk food. There wasn't much of it at her home, so those rare moments where she could get her hands on it were moments Rei enjoyed.

Minako felt bad for reminding Usagi of her lack of a house in the school. It must have been pretty lonely here, with no magic or any close friends to rely on.

"You know...not being sorted kind of makes you like, your own house," Minako said, trying to cheer her up. "Like a...neutral party or something! You don't have to deal with all the dumb house feuds and contests." Minako looked at the candy Usagi had spread out, and grabbed a chocolate bar. So this was muggle candy... Being the child of two pure bloods and living in a wizard village, it was rare that she even saw candy without some magical twist to it, let alone ate it. Minako had seen some around Hogwarts when kids brought some back from home or were sent packages by owl, but it was still a treat.

 She unwrapped and inspected the squares of chocolate as she spoke. "Like Rei and I, for example. Our houses hate each other, right? There's always a big rivalry over Quidditch, and the House Cup, and the....come to think of it, everything." She took a bite of the chocolate, and her eyes lit up. "Oooh, this is really good!" she said, her voice muffled by the candy.

Usagi practically jumped straight into the ceiling when Rei arrived, overwhelmed with glee. She just couldn't contain her excitement over having everyone here to hang out in her room on her very first night at Hogwarts! Her blue eyes darted back to Minako when the beribboned blonde commented about Usagi making up her very own "house". She hadn't thought about it that way!

She was even more excited that her new friends liked the treats Ikuko-mama and Kenji-papa had sent. (Even if only Minako had expressed anything, that was enough for Usagi to take it as blanket approval from the whole group.)

"Isn't it?!" she replied to Minako's approving note about the chocolate. "It's from my favourite company, Cabbury! I was so surprised to find out it wasn't sold in the wizard side of London."

Usagi spun around, facing the room and grinning at each of her new friends in turn.

"So what should we do? Makeovers? Play a card game? Or tell ghost stories?"

She couldn't have been happier right now if a golden snitch landed peacefully in her hand!

The moment the door opened, Ami got an unexpected armful of a flailing, way too excited blonde that practically ambushed her. Usagi pretty much dragged her inside, and Ami was too surprised to react, so she just went along with it. As Usagi presented her room, Ami looked around, noticing that the place was definitely cozy, mostly because Usagi didn’t have to share with a bunch of other students. Although she did wonder if it got lonely in here. No wonder Usagi had invited them to come along.

Minako, who arrived next, voiced her thoughts, and then Makoto commented on the fact that Usagi was unsorted. Ami nodded to confirm that Usagi was definitely the first. She wondered why they hadn’t sorted her. Or had they attempted to and the Sorting Hat… no, that was impossible right? She had heard of the infamously called Hat Stalls that lasted for hours while the hat tried to decide, but it had never simply refused to come to a decision. It was practically unheard of.

Rei appeared at last, which made Ami honestly feel rather surprised, but Rei did that a lot. She had a lot of surprising moments as it turned out.

She tried to think how she would feel about being in an exclusive house, but the thought just made her sad. She already felt apart from everyone enough as it was. She wished she had brought some wizard treats now to share with Usagi. Ami wanted her to feel as included in this world as possible.

Ami had no idea what activities people normally did in sleepovers, seeing that she had never participated in one. “What if we just… talk for a bit, Usagi?” she asked tentatively. She was really curious to know more about this mysterious girl and her circumstances of being accepted into the school, but she wasn’t sure how to ‘interrogate’ her without sounding rude. “You know, get to know each other. Or we could play a game that helps us learn more about each other’s worlds. I’m sure you would like to know more about magic, right?”

"Learning about each other sounds fun!" she replied to Ami's question. "I mean, I know about magic. My family, they're all wizards. Everyone thought I would be one, too, but it didn't happen. My little brother goes here; he just started. I go to Muggle school and my family does things outside of the Wizarding world. It's hard for me to participate. I try, but there's so much that I need help with."

She sounded awfully positive about it, but this was something that seriously and negatively impacted Usagi's life. Even her dorm lacked a magical password or charm—it was simply too hard for her to interact with such a thing successfully. Just getting around the school, which brimmed with magic of all kinds, was going to be difficult. Wizard shopping required someone with magic to help her out, and some of the absolutely coolest items were totally useless to the blonde girl. The non-magical world was just an easier place for someone like Usagi.

But she had spent her whole life longing to be among those with magic.

"So what's your life like, Ami? Minako-chan, what about you? Rei? Makoto, too! I want to hear everything!"

Her blue eyes were shining, waiting to hear all about the amazing lives of her new friends.

Cabbury, huh? Minako would need to track down this chocolate later... After finishing her chocolate piece, Minako wondered exactly what she should tell Usagi. "It might take a while to tell you everything," she joked. "But...I can tell you about the time I put a charmed firecracker in the Prefect bathroom." That had been a good prank. The rocket had been made undouse-able, and whenever a spell was used to try and move it out, it duplicated. It had taken three hours for anyone to catch it, and by that time, it had multiplied 16 times over.

“My life?” Ami blinked, not expecting the question. No one had ever been interested in her boring study-filled life except maybe these other girls. “Well, I’m not as interesting as Minako or have as many stories to tell, but my mother is a Healer, and I’ve always wanted to be like her someday,” she explained self-consciously. “And I really like it here, because magic is so fascinating to learn.”

She looked at Usagi and finally braced herself to ask the question that was really burning inside her. “Usagi, have you ever… has anything ever happened before like with the troll earlier? Have you ever been able to… just feel someone’s emotions like that?”
