- I have no idea what title I should give to my intro post so I just wrote whatever popped in my head..
Hi! I'm new here! Please say hello to me.
Or maybe not and that's ok as well.
Anyways, I have always been visiting this site since I can remember but I never had the urge to make an account. I guess that's just the way I roll. I spy around forums as an anonymous guest and if I find the need to say something or to just join, then I will. I feel like it's the right time for me to join but I'll leave my unimportant reason for later.
So I'm a male and I'm 19 years old. Oh, and I come from the planet Earth. Yes, I'm a human being. Sadly, I'm not a guardian nor the representative of the planet like Endymion/Mamoru so I'm just a normal, not-really-special, human being.
As for my history with Sailor Moon, it has always been with my childhood memories. I thought it would stay as that but I still remember the time I had some sort of reconnection with it. It was the early days of 2007 and we finally had our first internet at home. While surfing through Youtube, I thought to myself "hey what about that show about girls wearing really short skirts and they save the day? What was the name of that show again? **SAILER MOON?** *types in the search bar with the same spelling* "Oh! It's SAILOR MOON. Haha!"
And that's how my story begins.
My views and opinions with Sailor Moon has drastically changed since that very day but one thing has and will never change: the magic still lives within me and I will likely held that little spark tightly for as long as I can. Over the years, revelations and insights rush by my side like a wind and the more flawed or perfect this piece becomes, the more I want to keep it for eternity.
My favorite character is Sailor Venus with a very obvious reason: she is my fictional and childhood crush. My initial impression with her is that she is this beautiful and graceful lady but of course the anime and the manga gave me a clearer view of her. Especially with the manga. I fell for her even more by the time I started reading the manga. My second favorite is Chiba Mamoru. I'd like to choose that name because his human side is what made me like him in the first place. While watching the original anime, I never cared about him. I guess he had his moments but for the most part, he's the dude throwing deus-ex-machina-roses to villains and gives an eloquent speech to Sailor Moon to save the day. As with Venus for me, the manga gave me a totally different side of him. His story and his character, I felt a familiar feeling with him. It's like his character resonated with me. I can't explain much but one thing I can honestly say is that I aspire to be like him. Of course I can't look exactly like him but his achievements pushed me to improve as a person. Just like him, I'm an introverted shy person who mostly keeps his feelings to himself and struggles to throw away his self doubts. My third and fourth is Mars and Moon with almost the same reason with the other two (especially with Usagi. My goodness, she is so likeable and more well rounded as a character in the manga!)
Given the paragrach above, you can see how much I've stated the manga and that is the biggest reason why I decided to join this forum. You see, I just started reading the manga last October of 2014. I read one act per day from that point on and it was an exhilerating ride! I read volumes one to five from October to November, six to ten from January to February, and now eleven to twelve this May! Over the years, I always hear many fans comparing the original anime to the manga and I do have the interest to read but never had the perfect chance or dedication to do so. So what pushed me to read the manga? It was all thanks to Crystal and my strong desire to finally read the Stars arc. Crystal was supposed to be the more faithful adaption and though it is such a flawed series, it gave me more interest to read the original source. What more when I hear fans talk about the vast differences of Stars of the anime and manga? The distate of Cj (Train to Galaxy Cauldron blog?) when it comes to Crystal and his past articles about the manga really helped as well.
Isnt't she a member here as well? Tell her to say hi! I read her blog a lot of tines snd though I still generally like Crystal regardless of it being crappy, his viscious reviews is such an entertainment.
YAY!! I'M FINALLY READING THE STARS ARC! You have no idea how excited and devestated I am. I'm scared and thrilled with the last story of Sailor Moon. I was supposed to read it last April but volume twelve was out of stock from Amazon jp and I had to wait two to four weeks for it to arrive so I decided to postpone to May. I reread the previous volumes several times already due to that delay but I ain't complainin'. Oh, and not to mention the HUGE customs tax and shipping fee I paid.
But enough of that. THE STARS ARC!!! Lol! I read the first act yeaterday and it left me speechless and lifeless for a long moment. I already know the huge amount of spoilers with this story arc due to Youtube comments but I was prepared for that first death. Goodbye, my second favorite character.
Oh, and Usagi's state after that made it even more depressing and intense. Gah! I should stop writing and read the second act right now. As with my schedule, one act per day and it's already 10 PM of May 2. So I should go. Bye!
NOTES:
I meant to write yesterday but my wait for my account activation forced me to do it today.
Sorry for the unnecessary long intro, I got too excited.
I don't usually talk like this in real life.
I made my avatar and signature two days ago as some sort of teaser and preparation for my reading of Stars arc. It's nothing professional or even a beautiful edit but I like it. I shared it on my Instagram and even used it as mu wallpaper on my iPad.
I've been listening non-stop to Galaxia's locket melody while writing this and will probably do the same thing while reading the Stars arc. It's so intense and melancholic.
Is it really titled "Golden Queen Galaxia (Orgel Version)?" Does anyone know any Sailor Moon CD I can buy with this track included aside from the Memorial Music Box? I can't seem to find it in any of the Stars soundtrack albums and the music box is way beyond my money limit as of this moment.
My dream is to make a third anime adaption of Sailor Moon by the time its 30th anniversary arrives and it will rock!
I also want to write another two story arcs for Sailor Moon. One of them focusing on Sailor Cosmos. Does anyone have the contct number of Naoko Takeuchi so I can persuade her to work with me?
