| 1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves--1938 Yeah I've seen this movie a million times so not much to say. But here's MY brief synopsis of the movie. - Spoiler:
So Snow White (What a name, huh? Who names their kid "Snow". I mean I've heard some pretty bad ones but "Snow White" is a pretty stupid name. And why does everyone call her by her full name in this movie? Why doesn't anyone call her "Snow"? Who knows.) is this chick who lives with her evil stepmother who makes her do work because she's jealous of her. So Snow White is just chillin cleaning the stairs or something and then she starts singing and some dude decides that he's in love with her just because he hears her singing and thinks she has a pretty voice. Hell, I think Miley Cyrus has a pretty voice but you don't see me falling in love with her. So the Stepmother is like "Go kill Snow White because she's prettier than me" and the dude tries to but he doesn't and blah blah that part is boring so I'll move on to the part where Snow White acts like an idiot throughout the rest of the story. So she wonders through the woods to find this little cottage and just DECIDES that she's going to clean the entire thing since I guess that's all she knows how to do. But she gets help from random woodland creatures who somehow know how to clean and understand English. She figures that since the beds are so small it must be seven children and then she's tired from cleaning so she's like "Oh I guess I'll just MAKE MYSELF AT HOME and sleep on these beds." Didn't she think about how awkward it was gonna be when seven CHILDREN come home and just see some random chick sleeping in their beds? Did she not imagine that conversation in her head? "Um excuse me ma'm, could you get out of my bed?" "Oh, sorry! I just decided to live here and break in and invite 100 animals into your house and then sleep here! Hope you don't mind!" "Oh cool story bro I guess you live here now!" So anyways she makes them dinner and crap and makes them wash their hands and even though they're old men who can stand up for themselves they just listen to her and they sing and dance and crap and then the next day they're like, "Don't let ANYBODY inside of this house and don't talk to ANYONE" but lo and behold the next day when the stepmother comes with a poisonous apple disguised as a witch she lets her in. Okay not ONLY does she let a stranger in the house which is EXACTLY what the dwarves said not to do, but when the lady is just like "Oh PLEASE eat this apple I can't tell you why but I just REALLY need you to eat it" she's like "Oh yeah totally" and eats it and "falls asleep" until "true love's kiss". But if she really wanted Snow White to be dead, why didn't she just poison the apple so that it would make her die? Dumb decision on her part. But whatever. So then the dwarves get all butthurt and then they find the witch somehow and kill her so that she dies a violent death where she falls down a cliff or something and a bunch of stuff happens and then the dude kisses her and she wakes up and they get married even though they've never spoken. The End

| 2. Pinocchio--1940 Alright, this movie scared the crap out of me. No wonder no one watches it! I never want to watch it again and I have no idea why kids watch it because it's so scary. Like seriously how do I not remember it being this creepy? And I wanted to yell at the screen the whole time because Pinocchio wasn't doing anything wrong Aiight here's my interpretation of the story. Note that all grammatical errors are on purpose. - Spoiler:
So the movie starts out all happy and you're like "Oh I bet this movie will be real cute" but you're wrong. So homeless cricket comes and decides to crash at Geppetto's house. Geppetto is making a puppet named Pinocchio and then he makes a wish upon a star (not even the FIRST star because there are like a million stars out at the time so I don't know why he picked that one. Isn't there some star in the Big Dipper that you wish on or something? Like the North Star? Whatevs) that Pinocchio can become a real boy and whaddaya know, it comes true. I guess it had to come true or else the story would be pretty boring. So anyways the star comes down as a fairy and makes a huge racket that somehow doesn't wake up Geppetto. She turns Pinocchio into a boy and says he gots to be brave, truthful, and unselfish to stay that way. She says to listen to his conscience and Jiminy Cricket just decides he can be a conscience so ta-da he's no longer homeless and unemployed.
So Pinocchio and Jiminy dance and sing and crap and the clocks on the wall are going crazy singing and making all this noise and SOMEHOW Gepetto doesn't wake up which makes no sense at ALL. And then Pinocchio trips or something and Gepetto finally wakes up even though it made like half as much noise as the giant parade of music they had going on in the other room. So he's all "yay I'm a father even though I didn't think this through at all and made my decision in one night". So things are going pretty smooth and we're all still happy and blah blah blah. Then the next day comes and Gepetto is like "Alright Pinocchio go to school" and closes the door. Okay, 1. He doesn't even tell him where the school is, how does Pinocchio know how to get there? 2. Gepetto gave him nothing but an apple and a notebook.. how is he supposed to write in the notebook without a pencil dumbdumb? 3. Doesn't he have to like register the kid or something? You can't just show up at a school and expect to get an education. So anyways, A GIANT FOX AND CAT come out of NOWHERE and it's just COMPLETELY NORMAL for them to be walking around the streets and they convince Pinocchio to join a puppet show so they can get some money. Like IT'S COMPLETELY NORMAL that this FOX WEARING A SUIT is making a deal with a puppet show guy, and his cat sidekick is just walkin around like it's nbd while Figaro, Gepetto's cat, can't talk or walk or walk around like it's nbd. What the heck. So then Jiminy is all "man Pinocchio you were bad for not going to school" but how was the poor kid supposed to know he was doing something wrong?! So then the puppet guy like locks him up in a bird cage and says he's never going home which is scary as hell and then some other stupid stuff happens where his nose gets big and crap and then the fairy rescues him. So then Jiminy is like let's go home, but then on the way the fox and cat come up and kidnap him and make him go to Pleasure Island with this con-man guy. So Pleasure Island is pretty sweet and all, these like SIX YEAR OLD BOYS are just running around smoking and drinking and throwing chairs into glass windows and crap. And Jiminy is all mad at Pinocchio for going there but the thing is HE HAD NO CONTROL OVER IT HE WAS KIDNAPPED so it makes me so mad how they get all mad at him when he had no control over it. Meanwhile Gepetto is looking for Pinocchio everywhere and it's basically super sad because he can't find him.
SO THIS IS THE SCARIEST PART. It shows Pleasure Island and the kids are all gone and then it cuts to this place on the island where the con-man is chillin with all these donkeys and it turns out HE TURNED ALL OF THE LITTLE BOYS INTO DONKEYS. And the donkeys are all crying and screaming while he torments them and puts them in tiny boxes and he just happened to forget Pinocchio and his little friend who are playing pool. Then Pinocchio and his friend start turning into donkeys and then the blue fairy is like "Geppetto is stuck inside of a whale". Okay, what the hell was Gepetto doing looking for Pinocchio IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN?! But whatever. Then it gets even more sad when Gepetto is all "man I guess I'm going to die in this whale because I ran out of fish" and then Pinocchio and Jiminy like go inside the whale and make it sneeze and get out and whatever and everyone almost dies but Pinocchio saves the day and since he was good and all he becomes a real boy.
So yeah it was terrifying. And the whole thing is supposed to be like a lesson about what happens when you're a bad kid but poor Pinocchio wasn't even bad!! Gahhhhleeeee it makes me so mad like he was completely tricked and kidnapped and then they tell him he's a bad kid. Poor little puppet. |
