Rei and Minako have been set up on a blind date! The nerve! Will they go through with it, or will they end the date before it begins?

Set the stage and begin!

The pretty guardian Sailor Venus, the senshi of love and beauty, had neglected her personal love life. Every so often, her agent had arranged for her to spend the evening with a young man for the benefit of the paparazzi and her fans. It was something Minako could put up with occasionally, but her heart was never in it. That had already been reserved by her duty as a sailor senshi and her princess. She could not afford to be distracted and, truth be told, Minako did not have much time left and she could think of better ways to spend it.

And yet, here the young woman waited in front of a restaurant for her blind date, be it a man or a woman. Minako had been told to wear a specific outfit, so she would be recognizable. The black dress with an ornate red belt was not too distinguishable and the sunglasses partially hid her face, but the red bow in her hair did make her stand out in a crowd. Clutching a red handbag, Minako alternated between searching the crowd for her date and checking her phone for any urgent news from either Artemis or the media. Even during a date, she needed to be at least partially aware of what was going on around her.

Rei sighed and eyed the restaurant in front of her. How could she let Usagi talk her into this? She had no time for dating nonsense, especially with men.

She looked down at the pavement. She did feel a tad lonely... And maybe it would be nice to...

She shook her head and gritted her teeth. No. This is stupid. She should just walk away right now and go home. She didn't know the guy so it wouldn't matter if she didn't show up.

But ugh. That would be incredibly rude.

"Dammit Usagi..." Rei muttered through gritted teeth. She sighed again and marched into the restaurant. Black attire with a red belt and a red bow. Sunglasses.

And then, Rei spotted her. Black dress. Red belt. Red bow in her hair. Sunglasses. Red handbag. And her mouth fell open. How could she be so stupid?

After a few minutes, Minako wondered how long an appropriate amount of time would be to wait for her date to arrive. That thought escaped her mind when she saw who was approaching.

Was that Rei?

Yes, it was Rei. If her date did not arrive, then perhaps she could offer Rei a meal. Usagi had mentioned she had reserved a table for two at this restaurant.

With a small smile gracing her lips, Minako walked forward to greet her friend. Rei looked surprised to see her. And, Rei looked as if she had dressed for a date, too. That was a funny coincidence. Maybe they were both meeting their dates at the same restaurant.

Then, a thought at the back of her mind nagged her and she made a quick connection. Oh, Usagi... Really? Minako repressed an exasperated sigh and continued walking toward Rei.

Stopping in front of Rei, she smiled gently and knowingly. But, rather than introduce the subject immediately, she offered a greeting.

"Hello, Rei. I was not expecting to see you here." Really, she was not.
