Jadeite stood inside the teachers' office listening to his math teacher lecturing him. Apparently one of his classmates claim that he was cheating during the last test. Of course their teacher didn't take Jadeite's side. Was it because he looked like a thug? Was it hard to believe that he was actually smart? Jadeite didn't bother to argue with this man. He just nodded his head, when the teacher told him that he would have detention this Saturday. Jadeite then left the office and hurried down the stairwell. He had to go meet Rei at her school. They been dating for a few months now and it was their ritual to walk home from school together. 

Once outside, he ran down the sidewalk hoping Rei wasn't waiting for him. If she was then he would never hear the end of it. Jadeite turned the corner and saw her school's entrance. He was relieved that she wasn't outside waiting for him. He approached the school and stopped at the gate.

School was just as boring and annoying as usual. It was after school that Rei always looked forward to.

Not sparing a single second, Rei booked it out of her classroom and to her and Jadeite's normal meeting place. Just the thought of seeing him made her heart jump, causing her feet to move even faster. Rei's pride prevented her from letting Jadeite know just how much she looked forward to seeing him, but she anticipated it all the same.

By the time she got outside, Jadeite was already waiting for her outside of her school gates. She noticed a couple girls giggling as they approached him, and Rei felt her anger bubbling. Tossing her hair behind her shoulder, Rei stuck her nose into the air and marched up to Jadeite, taking his arm and kissing him on the cheek. "Hey!" she said, looking pointedly at the frozen group of girls. If looks could kill, they would be lying in a pile of ashes. 

"How was your day?"

"He's soo cute!" spoke a hush voice.

"You should go talk to him!" spoke another hush voice.

Jadeite glanced toward the voices and saw a group of giggling girls heading toward him. He rolled his eyes at them. He was getting annoyed with all of the girls at this school. They should know by now that him and Rei were together. Didn't girls have some secret communication network for these kind of things?

Suddenly he felt his arm being grabbed and he then felt a pair of warm lips kissing his cheek. He looked down saw Rei standing there. She was staring down those girls as she greeted him. Jadeite just gave Rei a playful smile and kissed her on the forehead. The heartbroken group of girls finally ran off.

"You know the typical talks I have with my teachers," he replied to her question. "I have detention Saturday. I hope your day was better than mine."

Rei sighed. When would he ever learn that if he wanted to get by in school, he would have to keep his mouth shut?! Oh well, some people never learn, she thought.

"It was fine I guess. I've got to start organizing for the talent show that's coming up, so I may not be able to meet you after school for the next few days." Rei looked behind her as she said this, making sure those girls weren't sticking around. "So that means you're going to have to fend them off on your own," she added, an agitated tone to her voice.

Taking his hand in hers, Rei lead the way towards Crown. "You know what sounds really good right now? A chocolate milkshake," she said, batting her eyelashes dramatically.

Jadeite let out a laugh. "I'm sure I can handle them." It was cute how Rei got so protected over him. Suddenly he felt her hand in his. He secure his grip and allowed her to lead them toward the Crown. He couldn't help, but laugh at her demand for a chocolate milkshake. She loved being spoiled.

When they arrived at the Crown, they sat down at a booth. A waitress greeted them and Jadeite order himself a vanilla milkshake and Rei's chocolate milkshake. As he waited he glanced out a window noticed a blond headed girl with a odango hairstyle. It looked like she was yelling at a younger man with jet black short hair. The man turned around and Jadeite got a good glimpsed of him. He then suddenly had a vision of a palace? And it was on fire? He shook his head and suddenly it started to hurt. He began to rub his forehead with his fingers.

Rei was combing her fingers through her hair when she felt Jadeite tense. She looked at him with concern, leaning closer to him. He had a pained look on his face, as if he had just gotten the worst brain freeze in the world. "Jadeite...are you okay?" she asked softly, her eyes filled with worry. What had caused this sudden change?

"Yes," Jadeite lied. "It's just headache." He felt terrible for lying, but he didn't want to tell her about his vision. He knew if he told her she would try figure it out what it meant. She would stay up late in front of her fire. Plus she had the school talent show to deal with. Knowing Rei she would push herself to do both and make herself sick. 

The waitress finally came with their milkshakes. Jadeite grabbed his spoon and scooped the cherry off of it. He didn't really like cherries so he placed it on Rei's milkshake. He then took a zip out of the straw and the coldness from the drink made his headache feel better. "So how do you organized a talent show?" Jadeite was trying to move the conversation away from him. He was worried she would ask him questions about his headache.

Rei stared at Jadeite for a moment, her sixth sense telling her there was something beneath the surface that Jadeite wasn't telling her. But if he didn't want to share, he must have a good reason, so Rei decided not to push the subject. She grinned when Jadeite gave her his cherry before popping it into her mouth. He knew her so well.

After swallowing the delicious fruit, Rei's eyes brightened at the mention of the talent show. "Well," she said, "I basically get to boss everyone around and make sure everything gets done on time. Decorations, food, lights, programs, performances, prizes, all of that stuff. The most important thing is getting all of the talents organized and put in an order so that the audience doesn't get bored. I'm glad I go to a high school where not just anyone can perform, though. I would hate to sit and listen to some tone-deaf wannabes trying to sing some awkward anime theme song."

Jadeite admire Rei's spunk. She was always ready to take charge. He wished he was confident as her. The vision slowly moved to back of his thoughts as they're date went on. Jadeite always felt at ease when he was with her.

That Saturday Jadeite got up early for his detention. He was amazed that he was able to arrived on time. He was not a morning person. He and his follow classmates gather in the gym. The gym teacher was their supervisor for today and told them they would be cleaning the classrooms. Jadeite grumbled to himself as the rest of classmate let out a groan. The teacher quickly scolded them and assign their duties. Jadeite was in charge of mopping the floors.

The gym teacher had them clean for four hours before sending them home. Jadeite left the school in pain. He has never mopped so many floors in all his life. His hands were hurting from holding the mop. As he walked home his stomach began to grumbled. He just realized that he skipped breakfast. Instead of going home he decided to grab something to eat. He turned to corner and headed to the Juuban Shopping District. Once there, he entered a place called Wacky Burger. 

Jadeite walked up to the counter and placed his order. He ordered a double cheese burger with fries. The girl behind the counter rung with up and handed him his food. Jadeite grabbed the tray and found a booth to sit in. As he ate his lunch Jadeite could over hear two girls talking.

"Oh, come on, Naru!!" one of the girls nearly shouted. "Tell me who you are crushing on!"

"It's a secret," the other girl said in a teasing voice.

"You're so cruel.."

Jadeite just rolled his eyes. Girls could be so annoying. 

"Ah!!" The same girl shouted. "Ami over here!!"

This time Jadeite turned and saw a blue hair girl approaching them. She looked a bit embarrassed by her friend's behavior. As he stared at her face he felt a headache. He looked at the other two girls. One had blond hair in a bun style while the other had short brown hair. His headache grew worse, when he saw the blond girl. He turned away and saw another vision. 

A girl with long sliver hair was looking at him from afar? No it wasn't him... it was someone else..?

Jadeite shook his head and quickly ate his food. He got up from his table and left the restaurant at once. As he walked home he felt his headache going away.

Rei spent her entire Saturday simultaneously worrying about Jadeite and the talent show. These idiots she called staff members couldn't tell the difference between a microphone and a stage light. After hours upon hours of yelling and bossing and making sure everything was perfect, Rei finally left her wretched private school and went towards home. She took her time, though, already exhausted from her long day and not looking forward to her chores. But at least she would get to see Jadeite.

He had been acting strangely over the last few days, but Rei just assumed it was his weird guy hormones or something. Rei continued her walk through town, humming one of her songs to herself as she went. She was about to cross the street when she spotted Jadeite coming out of a restaurant. A bright smile crossed her face and she jogged to meet him, latching onto his arm and hoping that she surprised him. 

"Hey! How was detention?" she teased. "I just left school and I am so tired of working with those brain-dead committee members."
