PostSubject: Problems with Coding    Problems with Coding I_icon_minitime16th March 2014, 8:31 am

Okay, I don't if anyone else has been having these issues. Sometimes when I either copy and past words for making a new a topic or replying to a topic the codes around the words will appear instead of showing what they should show.Or!! Sometimes when I'm not copying and pasting things aka writing the text myself the code will appear too.

An example for pasting text if the text has been color than all I get is the code for the color instead of it coloring the text.
An example for me writing the text myself if I go to make the text bigger the code will show instead.

I don't get why this happening. I see for pasting text. In the past it would mess up the paragraphing so I would have to paste the text on to a sticky note or word then paste it on the forum. So I guess now the coding gets messed up.

As for making the text myself and going to change the text size or color than it should do it! I used the little icons for the coding so it's not like I'm typing in the codes.

Does this all make sense? I have no idea how to explain this.  Problems with Coding 3978041997

Are you on 'Editor Mode' by accident? You know, the last button on the bar, three along from the emoticon button?

Sometimes when you aren't in editor mode, it still shows the code (example is for font size, like you describe, as far as I know its always been like that) so that could be it. It also could be from copy and pasting, especially if you are copying and pasting from MS Word or something. If you are copying and pasting for a word editor, best thing is to copy to notepad first then copy to the forums.

I personally rarely make posts with Editor mode off because I find sometimes random code gets thrown in that isn't necessary or something. Also if you do prefer not having it on, as a suggestion, you may just want to turn it on before you make a post to double check your code. BBCode isn't too hard to learn cause everything if fairly self explanatory. ^_^

Okay so I'm not going crazy. I guess this something I have to learn to live with?

Pretty much. I've never found it a problem, but then again I've always posted on forums where you saw the code and there was no turning it off. ^^;

I understood what you're saying and I have the same problem. However, I always keep a Notepad open, so I paste the text there and then I copy again.

Well you can always click the preview button when making a post since that is what its there for to check to make sure your code is working fine. ^^ I just find doing it that way makes it better, but thats just me.

I'm the same as Brit, I always have editor mode open, I find it easier. But yeah, the size code always comes up regardless.
