Okay, now with details.
Why Mamoru? I already like him in other versions, but I feel this proximity towards him, it's like I know him, I know how he thinks. I can relate to him. He is flawed, he makes mistakes, he isn't the knight in shining armor from all other versions. He does things no one would be proud of. But that doesn't mean he isn't a good guy, that ultimately he wants good and that he really likes Usagi. We can see how much his intentions weren't the noblest of them at first but then, once he gets to know the girl better, he can't help but fall in love with her. He is human. That is a hell of a portrayal Shibby-kun did and it is mainly why I fell in love with him.
Now, Makoto. Her loneliness and her traumas are there, and they're a huge part of her, but from the beginning we see she isn't only that, that she's a doll and so so lovable. It helps the fact she's the mother hen of the girls. Also, her trajectory towards learning to depend on others, that she doesn't need to be all so alone, it talks to me, personally.
These two are the characters not only in PGSM, due to personality and life story being very similar (I think I have mentioned this in some other topic), however in the live action they are just so perfect, their personalities are so well developed, it's impossible for me not to fall in love with them all again.
Now, my least favorite character is Minako. I didn't like the changes in her character, I feel it took a lot of her character, of her dilemmas and all.
And Verdi, i can't forgive you, we'll have to take this outside LOL-jk
You can not like Mamoru, it won't affect our friendship LOL
