hello again . today marks a week for me on this website and i'm already addicted   :bunnypokerface . it's crazy how nostalgic this all feels, being on a message board. back in 2004-2007, i frequented and was a mod of - for a short time (school) - a forum called sweet!! and there's one thing i remember clearly about that place: the organization.

more specifically, the organization of the Multimedia board. i've taken the liberty of photoshopping a 'prototype', if you will: 



merely an example of what the thread looked like using the first page of the thread here! pretty sweet, eh?   i'm pretty proud of this. i have the tendency of putting too much effort into things, but one thing's for certain, i'm almost always pleased with my outcome.  and this is by no means me trying to encroach on anybody's territory or nit pick. i simply had the fortune of coming across my old forum and thought i'd suggest this format of organization to you guys.

to explain the format in depth:

1. all major topics are pinned.

• instead of having multiple threads where people share their collective art in separate threads, there are the major categories: avatars & bumpers (could also include buttons and pixel art in this category), banners, wallpapers, gifs (separated for the convenience of persons sensitive to seizures), fanart (original fan drawn and colored art), sailor moon requests, and all non-sm art and requests.
  

2. all non-pinned topics are ongoing same-media works or tutorials*.

• in this example we have three major categories: source manga/anime re-draws & colorings, original on-going single-media works (doujinshis/comics), and crafts/cosplay.
  

3. *with the exception of forum gifts (postcards) and locked previously pinned topics that have reached page limit (in the case of threads on sweet: 11 pages.)

It's an interesting idea for organization, but i think the Artist Section was intended to be a place for a GC member to post their Gallery of art/media, regardless of what TYPE of art it is. So for example, I could have a thread that has my drawings, graphics, buttons, gifs, etc. in one spot. I think doing it that way defeats the purpose of the set up a bit.

And since we have the Avatar/Signature section separated people can already find things like that easily.

However, we could pull from this idea. I like having some pinned threads for people to have Requests for a manga coloring or something. We (as in mods and I) are in process of doing some reorganization ourselves (which this might not happen for a bit, imagine like a spring cleaning sort of deal) and in discussion of ideas. So I'll def try to bring this up whenever we start making changes. ^^

aaah, i see. and i'd like to elaborate further on my reasons for the suggested format, too. see, when i'm viewing the full artists section, or any other section that might not look like it has formatting at first glance, my eyes just go everywhere, and i get a little bit overwhelmed with the all the different ways topics are titled and i feel intimidated by the vast majority of just loads of stuff, you know? it's just very soothing and pleasing to me when things are labeled/titled in a uniform fashion. :bunnynosebleed  i'm maybe a little OCD, lmao *sweats*

i'm thankful this will at least be of some inspiration and help, though, big time . maybe there might be another section that could benefit from this format. in any case, i'm glad to be acknowledged and considered!!     

While I love being able to have everything super streamlined and organized and titled in certain ways, its really impossible to do that for everyone and to ask everyone to do it (people just don't read rules even if its simple things sometimes and this would just add more workload to the mods). Not everyone is super OCD about these types of things and want to have freedom with their thread titles. I'm one of those inbetweens where I love organization like this but I don't feel a need to be crazy about it either. (its probably why i can be super organized with planning things and all that and stuff but my house is a wreck. >.>)

But its def a good idea (and something new to me in ways of forum organization) so like i said i'll def keep it in mind. and plus i love your enthusiasm so even if we don't use all your ideas keep them coming!
