Just something I've been pondering for a bit, and only recently found the proper words to examine.

She is rather on the curvy side, perhaps a bit as a result of no longer having school-mandated PE as part of her life. However, she does retain some degree of elegance to how she carries herself in her movements, despite not quite remembering exactly where she might have picked it up. When not on the job, she isn't too flashy and the like. As long as the weather lets her get away with wearing so much, she tends to prefer turtleneck sweaters and long skirts, with grudging concessions made to sleeves and hems when it comes to warmer weather. Her alternate duties do not allow her the luxury of such coverup, after all. Her only jewelry is the hairclip that keeps her braid intact, the silver clasp being closed by en equally silver infinity loop decorated with a single yellow diamond at the center. It is something she does not remember ever being without.
Personality:Jikyuu is a rather friendly sort, all told. Unlike her younger years, she is not prone to sudden, inexplicable outbursts of physical and verbal emotion of her younger years. However, she does have moments where she's lost in her thoughts, as though some memory has been dredged up out of nowhere- she looks with familiarity at people she has never met in her life, and seems to know some detail that she ought not to, from time to time. She does try to remain pleasant through all that, however, but her flights of fancy can make her presence not entirely comfortable for some.
History:
Jikyuu Kiokuno was born to a family that was traditional enough to still actually have a house in the Japanese countryside, but not so traditional that they were particularly opposed to a daughter actually having some ambition to be something other than a housewife. Her upbringing was not particularly exceptional, save for when she had what ended up being referred to as her "lapses", when polite company was about. It was not anything that was debilitating to her ability to actually live, but it was something that was, at the very least, concerning.
She didn't always look at people the same way that most did. Not that she considered herself above them, or didn't see people as people, but something was just a bit off. There were times when she would experience a vast rush of strong feeling when seeing others she had never met before, as though she had, in some weighty circumstance some time ago. Having no way to deal with it, she would do many things without provocation. She would embrace people as lost family, cry grievously, and in a couple of cases, even attack them. In time, she managed to learn to calm herself before it got too out of hand for her to participate in the outside world at large. The feelings themselves, however, never went away.
As she passed through the rites of school and into what could be termed the real world, she eventually found herself paying more attention than she thought she ought to when it came to rumors of the stranger goings-on. Conjured warnings. UFOs appearing in the sky. Sudden explosions near Tokyo Bay. Even beyond that there were whispered words of Youma, and androids from the future, creatures built to devour the living hearts of the innocent, and all manner of other Kaijin. And with each bit of news from this realm of imagination, she received a new feeling- not one of the more base or mundane one, but rather an upswell of outright
purpose.And eventually, this erupted into form.
The jewel in her hairclip had always remembered this purpose, and had always somehow found its way to those who could fulfill it. As Jikyuu herself pondered the meaning of her new feelings of direction, the jewel itself awakened, and took it upon itself to answer her thoughts. The jewel illuminated that dark night, and brought with it a transformation not just of clothing, but a dawning of the self. Jikyuu knew that she had both never and always had been one of the ones who wear the fuku. She was one of the Senshi, and her job was to be an unwavering, steadfast protector against the darkness, and to be a guiding star to lead it back to the light.
Now, to just balance that with her work schedule....

Transformation Phrase: Polaris Constant Power, Make Up!
Realm of Influence: Constant Guiding Starlight
Planet of Origin: Astrapolis (see below)
Fuku Description: A tiara with a white jewel in the center that is home to a decorative compass, long white gloves with golden cuffs, a blue bow in front and behind combined with a yellow skirt. tall, white boots.
Weapons: A hope for a bright future and an understanding that justice is the greatest duty of the strong.
Attacks: Fixed Lancer: She conjures a spear of yellow light which is then thrown into the enemy. As fearsome as it looks, it does no damage, but those who receive it in their body find themselves pinned in place, even if they are currently in midair.
Constant Starlight Ray: The heels of her boots grow spikes which dig into the ground, anchoring her as she fires a white beam of searing starlight. She can sustain this for quite some time, but she can't move all that effectively when using it- without digging in, she's liable to be knocked flat on her back and end up striking things that were well outside her immediate (and likely crucial) intention.
Guiding Star Burst: Sailor Polaris conjures a ball of white light, which then erupts in a bright flash, casting light on the truth behind illusions or other phantoms of bewilderment.
Senshi History: Jikyuu Kiokuno is not the first person to be Sailor Polaris. Nor is she even close to being the second, and if patterns continue, she is very far away from being the last.
She is actually the 157th incarnation of Sailor Polaris.
The original Sailor Polaris came from a world called Astrapolis, a planet which had been converted into a spacecraft by its people in order to escape the demise of their home star. Wandering through space, they eventually found a new star near which to anchor their home. A new celebration was created, the rituals of thanks were completed, and so the days of being without a star to call their own were over. The people asked for blessings of protection, and whatever forces lent their ear to such desires responded.
It was in this way that the first Sailor Polaris came to be, and not a moment too soon, as Astrapolis came under attack from the Warriors of the Black Sun, those who had doomed the original home of the wanderers. The people of Astrapolis rallied around their new champion, and the power of Sailor Polaris proved strong enough to allow the people of the vagabond world to overcome their bitter enemies. This victory made people believe that their choice of home was a heaven-sent revelation, but Sailor Polaris found herself occupied with other thoughts- what would come after herself?
Feeling that her people would be safe without her, and knowing, perhaps that there would be more like her to come after, she could not leave her successors in infinite posterity adrift. It was this that caused her to seek some way to aid inheritors. consulting with her inner circle, she and they created the jewel of memory, something that could pass down her experiences to those who would follow. It was the long work, finding some way to do this without overwhelming and destroying the mind if its recipient, but in time, the long work was finished. Only one task remained to ensure that her work would succeed.
In her very last act as Sailor Polaris, she bound the jewel to her own spirit, ensuring that it would find a way to follow wherever her spirit wandered. While this was at the price of her current life, she ensured that all those who would carry her title would not be so completely unprepared for the duty that followed- and that there would always be an incarnation of herself hold a light against the darkness.
Sailor Polaris would only incarnate three more times on the world she called home, but her role in all places was always the same, much as it was for any Senshi since time beyond memory. All of these persons lived as this champion, some for longer than others, as is the way of such things. It was recently that this spirit found its home in a place called Earth, and incarnated in the person of Jikyuu Kiokuno. This woman is bewildered by her new place in the order of the heavens, but is at least willing to take on that role which has been ascribed to the unmoving star of high heaven since the most ancient times on Earth- to be that guiding star that helps bring Sailors safely home.
