Appearance: 
The thought that enters the mind of those who gaze upon Temperence is “fighter.”  Temperence stands tall at an above average 5 foot 9 inches and her stiff back makes her appear all the more so.  Her years of martial arts training and then gang fighting left Temperance with a body that was muscular, not too thin, but not so bulky that she lost any of her agile reflexes.  In a fight she hit hard and she hit quick.  Although she wore her hair longer when she was younger as she got older she found to be more of a nuisance so she now keeps her blonde hair short.  Although she is of mixed blood, Temperence looks more like her American father than her Japanese mother.  Although her skin does have a slight tint to it she is still pale and her eyes are a piercing shade of dark blue.  Her hair is naturally blonde with brown and red undertones.  You can typically find Temperence in outfits that permit a lot of movement and are unrestricted which usually consists of a t-shirt, jeans, flat combat boots and her leather motorcycle jacket.

Personality: 
Ren wasn’t the head of a gang for no reason; she is a fighter that just isn’t brawns but brains as well. Being in a gang she has a leader’s personality and is very patient with her underlings. She is very calm and thinks things through before acting which can also lead to a hesitance to act if she thinks too much. She can be very stubborn when she sets her mind on something even if she’s wrong. On the outside she can seem very cold to those who don’t know her because she has a distrust of people and does not let anyone see what she is really feeling. However when a person does prove their trust to her she becomes very loyal and protective of them. When Ren is happy she tends to sit back with a contented smile on her face and naps a lot more. When she is upset or anxious she becomes restless and constantly needs to be doing something. When she gets angry her blue eyes turn a cloudy grey and all a person gets as a warning is the crack of her biting on her lollipop before she punches them in the face. When Ren is sad she tends to stare at something with a non-expressive look on her face.

History: 
Ren’s father was a doctor in the U.S. military stationed in Japan when he met Ren’s mother and decided to stay there as doctor working in a clinic. Ren’s parents put her into martial arts classes at a very young age to teach her discipline for their future aspirations of her to be in the military.  Ren immediately began to excel and became the top in her class. She thrived in the environment of having a constant challenge. However as her talents grew so did the distance between her and her peers.  The other kids felt threatened and took their frustrations out on her.  As a result her social skills developed awkwardly and she came to dislike other people.  Later when her family moved to Tokyo when she was in the seventh grade Ren became an outcast due to her mixed blood, her now nonexistent social skills, and of course being the new kids in the area . One day while at school Ren got into a fight with some other students. The current head of that area’s gang saw her potential and offered her a place to belong. Ren eagerly joined the gang when the other members accepted her and she was able to use her skills to challenge other people. Working her way up from the bottom she eventually became head of the gang her ninth grade year where she stayed as such until her twelfth grade year. At that point her parents were ashamed of her rebellious activities as a gang member and sent her to live in Star City, California with her father’s sister.

Storyline Specific Information: 
Rebel Recon (Revelations AU): On the day that the aliens attacked Ren had gotten into yet another fight with her aunt and had driven her motorcycle to the coast. She spent the day to herself watching the ocean. When dusk started to fall she began the long drive back to town when she saw a huge plume of smoke above where the city used to be. Upon her return she discovered her aunt’s house destroyed. Using the information networks she had built up she found out about the resistance and headed their headquarters.

She listened to the gentle thuds of the rain as they fell onto her helmet.  She kept her bike balanced with both feet flat on the ground as she waited for the light to turn green.  Looking across the intersection she saw a small antique shop with a statue, a painting, and some jewelry on display.  Her eyes glanced over the painting and had moved onto the next store before she set attention back to it.  It showed a flowing river with cherry blossom trees blooming along it. 

The sound of raindrops filtered into the background as her thoughts ventured to the other side of the planet.  One particular memory of the last lunch she and a few of her close friends experienced under a cherry blossom tree as its petals dusted the ground.  She had yet to tell them that she would be leaving but she knew the time had come.  

A blaring car horn pulled back to the intersection of rain and cars and people bustling about. She looked up and found the light had turned green.  She gripped the handle as she hit the gas and shot off down the road.
