I, Hilary, aka Kyralih, aka Sailor Uranus, have returned from my native homeland, Canada, and I have an important announcement to make about an activity I partook in whilst there, in the wilderness.

Moose Burger, actually, which smells way different from regular cow-burger meat when you're squishing it up into patties (that's right, I played with raw moose) and that can make it a little disconcerting. o.o it doesn't taste that different though. Just less juicy (due to lower fat content). 

Also whilst there, I learned that my Aunt ((who gave me the moose meat)) recently had to shoot two bears for coming onto her property (thus threatening her pack of hunting dogs, her hens, and, oh yeah, her family). The second one was shot the day before I picked up the moose meat. o.o it was chasing my uncle and she got it right between the eyes. (she was a marksman with the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police; she's retired now)) She said she'd offer some of the meat from the bear, but a.)Woah, woah, I was already trying Moose and I only had one full day left in Canada; one new wild animal eating experience per day, thanks, and b.)she only had the shoulder ready to go and it was a pretty hefty shoulder.  ((You might be thinking, "Hey! Just get inside! Leave the bear alone!" and, believe me, my Aunt was not thrilled with having to shoot a bear (she loves animals), but the bear somehow got inside her fence and who knew if it could ever find its way out again. And then there was that chasing her husband thing. *shrugs*))
