| Note: Please be respectful if someone didn't like a game that you like.
I know video games can be quite expensive. Were there any games that you regretted buying, or just did not like at all?
There are quite a few games that I didn't like and regretted getting. Mega Man X7, I didn't like for radically altering the gameplay big time. I got this game over...the first American Fire Emblem game for the Game Boy Advance. Another that I didn't like was an NES game called Home Alone 2. Thankfully, I never played it until 2000. Apparently, they didn't care about the game. It's way too difficult. There's a nasty glitch in the third level that freezes your game.
"Honourable" mention goes to the Game Boy Gremlins 2 game. Same reason as Home Alone 2: It's too artificially challenging and abstract on what you're supposed to do next.
What's your games that you didn't like? |

| Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. That stupid main dungeon you had to go to to progress the rest of the game. Made me and the fiance both equally angry. xD |

| Yep. I posted there so people don't get upset if they like a game someone else doesn't and vice versa.
Going back to Home Alone 2: It's only five levels long. Most of the difficulty is from uneven collision detection and loose controls. The enemy choice is even more puzzling. Remember the scene from the movie where Kevin's assaulted by possessed suitcases, deranged shopkeepers, bats, mice and falling plaster? No? I don't either.
Here's another game that I somehow forgot: Dragon's Lair for the NES. Too absurdly difficult, unresponsive controls and more frustrating than fun. In the first scene of the game, the dragon takes ten-fifteen hits to kill. There's also the delayed jumping controls. If you're standing on the broken bridge, the game doesn't credit you for the jump. Then you'll fall in the moat and die.
Keep them coming. |

| Heavenly sword. I didn't like it at all. Nor did I like Dragon Age. I just didn't care for them, it might have been the game play that killed it for me. |

| Fighter Maker. Did a review on it once. Basically the blandest fighting game you can think of that focus all of its energy on making a character and then being able to do jack all with it. |

| Dragon Age was a game I didn't like very much. WRPGs in general seem really bad at presenting their story in exchange for pseudo-open worldness. Plus the combat didn't do many favors.
The Final Fantasy VII "compilation". I know this is one of those games that's cool to hate now, but even as a child I wasn't all that impressed by it and every new addition just seemed blander and blander.
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. I really liked most of the KH series but the gameplay of this was really...meh. |

| Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Ocarina Of Time 1.5 but didn't really add on to the N64 Classic even though the two are constantly compared. Wolf Link couldn't come even close to Deku/Goron/Zora Link in Majora's Mask in terms of innovation and dungeon design. Graphics didn't really fit for a Wii game but a Gamecube title. Ganondorf was just put at the end for nostalgia even though he didn't add much to the game. |

Because it came out when the Wii came out and they wanted to add in the gimmicky motion controls. |

| For me it was Final Fantasy 13. It seemed too linear in the beginning since you couldn't explore very much until you got to Gran Pulse and it got a lot worse. The whole storyline, the terms for certain species or places, etc. and the mythology of the game were too confusing to follow. Basically the game as a whole turned me off because it was too much to take in all at once. I never bothered with the sequel either, and will most likely not get the new game that's coming out (Lightning Returns). |

^^^ THIS! Also I hated the controls. I didn't like how you had to use the touch pad to move and fight. I know they wanted to show that off, but honestly I wish I could use the a button to use my sword. I never finished it. The kingdom hearts games in general. I have tried to play this series so many times. I have played the first game, but didn't get far because I dont own it. I have the chain memories and the DS game with the 236/whatever number Days. The DS title was boring and I liked the chain of memories, but Hedis was too hard to beat so I gave up. In general I had hard time getting into the story and there are just too many titles and I wish they came out on other systems. It makes me angry that the handhelds titles come out on the Nintendo platforms, but the main game comes out on the PlayStation platforms. I cant keep up! Pretty much every turn base RPG games. I find them boring and the only exception to this is the Paper Mario series. I have no idea why, but that series captures my attention expect for the Wii title where they took out the RPG element. I find the story interesting, but I wanted the RPG elements! D: |

| Epic Mickey and Harvest Moon Animal Parade. I turned on Epic Mickey and was basically bored and didn't even advance in the game. I wanted to like it. Harvest Moon Animal Parade is just...the dialogue is too boring and so are the characters :p |

| I love HM: AP. Yeah the characters are boring, but it has so many features to customize your house and all those clothes! *.* The best bachelor is the Wizard. XD I hated the mining though it's too hard to find the right ores to upgrade your tools. D:
Let's see the first two zelda games I didnt care for. The SNES Zelda game is great though! Much better than the first two games by far. I didn't like the first two Zelda games mostly because you start the game and you find yourself in the middle of the no where. I'm glad the SNES game (probably the game boy games. Never played them not sure if they came out before the SNES game). had you start out in a house and something is happening and you have to investigate. |

I agree with the original NES Zelda games, I think they were great for their time...I'm going to blame their lack of story on hardware limitations. |

| Im pretty sure that the NES could handle text boxes to tell the story of those two games. I believe there arre NES games that have it. Like the mario games where they had toad say the princess is another castle. |

True, the zelda games did have a little bit of dialogue in the Zelda games, but nothing compared to the newer games. It's just harder to appreciate the older games when we grew up with bigger and better games. But I still think those two games were a good start and I'm thankful for all the Zelda games we have now ^.^ |

| Oh, I am too and I am grateful for the first two and I am sure they are great games! I just feel like I would get into them if there was dialogue or something? Reading the plot out of the game manual doesn't really excite me. XD |

| I really did not enjoy halo2. The gameplay graphics were choppy and fragmented, and looked like they tried to upgrade it too much on too outdated of a code platform. And the cutscene graphics were so badly done that it made the whole storyline impossible to enjoy. I got fed up and put it down about 2 hours into it. Never picked it back up. |

| Call of Duty is the perfect example of what a MMO would be like if it was only allowed to be on consoles. Instead of just getting some down time for updates you'd have to buy a new title every year. |

| Dark Angel: Vampire Apocalypse for ps2. When you select a new game, you're just dropped into a fight with no idea what's going on except that monsters are attacking people, and you're somehow the only one competent enough to save them. Unless you've happened to have read the manual you wouldn't even know the name of the character you're playing as. The gameplay is also incredibly repetitive, and you'll have to get used to the ridiculously long loading time to open up the inventory to use a healing item. |

Me too. Haven't played TF2 in a while but I probably will once summer is over so I can remove the probability of my computer overheating. Either that or around Halloween. |

| Prince of Persia for PS3/360. The only thing it has going for it is the art/graphics. You go around, collecting balls of light, climbing things, healing the land and there's barely any combat. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I'm a huge Zelda fan. Like seriously, if I could marry a video game, it would be Zelda. I've played them all except Four Swords Adventures and Minish Cap. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was for this game. When I saw it in Nintendo Power and on ads, I freaked out. Then I played it. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game but... I don't like Midna, I don't like the concept of the Twilight Realm, I didn't like those tears of light quests, the overworld was empty and the first half of the game is slow. It hasn't aged well for me personally. I go back every now and again and give it another shot, but the game graphics just look dark/brown. Does that makes sense? The one thing it has going for it, it has my favourite Princess Zelda design... but, she had no screen time. Another let down.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I can't even get through the first quarter of the game. I've tried many times. Oblivion gates are just annoying. I just can't get into the game. My friend wants me to try Skyrim, but I'm not sure. |

| I have love/hate thing with Zela: TP. I enjoy the story (it could have flow better) and I really like playing as wolf Link (I know most fans hated that part of TP). But you get to rip a poe's soul out of its chest. How cool is that? I hated Minda at first, but I grew to love her. My problems like you said the over world is empty and dark. They should put things in them! I understand the dark thing because they were trying to do a darker story, but hey since Hyrule is in the light world make it brighter!! Have the Twilight Realm be all dark and gloomy. I wish you could play the gamecube controller on the wii. I have the wii version and I got the wii version because I wanted the wii controls. But I guess I should have just gone with the GC version instead.
Despite hating the over world. I enjoyed the updated graphics for Hyrule. It looked like Hyrule! It's vast and big that's how Hryule should be! They just should have put things in it. XD Oh and I love Castle Town. It was awesome. Plus Link is hot in TP. *.* |

| TP Link is hot. I also liked how expansive the land was, and I think they were on the right track with that. When they made TP, they were trying to do something they couldn't really do on the N64 with OOT/MM, and that was make an expansive world. And they did that, but they failed to fill it with interesting things to see and do. I just picked up the Wii version (for collector purposes). I've done all my playthroughs on Gamecube, and I can say with great confidence that the game is far superior on the Gamecube.
Dragon Ball Origins is another game I don't like all that much. It's okay, but it could be so much better. |

| I hate fishing in TP. >.< When I first played the game it literally took me like 2 hours to catch that stupid fish for that stupid cat. I couldn't figure out the right method to catch fish.
I'm not crazy about Super Smash Bros Brawl. I didn't hate it, but out of the three it's my least favorite. Some of the characters were slowed down like Link for an example. I loved playing him as in Melee and he's one my best characters. But they slowed him down in Brawl! Why? Some of the new characters are slow too. I love being Ike, but why did they have to make him slow? He's not a big character like Browser. He's about the same size as Marth. He's just a bit muscular, but over muscular! He has one of the best final smash moves, but he's too slow to get it time before the players do. The only things I liked about Brawl were the graphics and the story mode. I hope the Smash for the U and 3DS are way better than Brawl. |
