| From 1988-2011, the FOX network hosted the weekly crime show America's Most Wanted, which would feature a variety of fugitives wanted on warrants ranging from murder, sex crimes, robbery, drug trafficking, escape and white-collar crimes. FOX cancelled it and Lifetime picked it up from 2011-2012. Lifetime was forced to cancel it because FOX was forcing them to pay them too much money because they still owed the licensing rights to the show. Lifetime is working on another show with the host John Walsh which should be airing this Wednesday (although they are doing a terrible job with advertising).
Even after that, the show is still apprehending fugitives from it's website. The most recent was Marcus Tillman who was facing 40 years in a Georgia prison after being convicted in absentia for molesting his two young sons aged three and six. He was arrested in a San Francisco coffee shop. His apprehension makes the show's #1204th capture. Since 1988 some of the most well-known captures include John List (killed five members of his family and was on the run for 17 years until he was found in 1989), serial killer Kenneth McDuff (killed eight people and was caught in 1992), and Brian David Mitchell (the abductor of Elizabeth Smart, both were located in 2003).
I started watching in January 2007 when I was told they were doing an episode on Teenage Dating violence (which was a topic that interested me). Since then I watched pretty much all the FOX episodes and most of the earlier Lifetime episodes (When Lifetime Canada aired they luckily re-aired the episodes that were first featured in the US). I was just curious if anyone had ever watched the show, had any highlights they wanted to share or wanted to know if certain cases were still unresolved.

| So that's what happened to the show, I used to wonder about that. My dad always watched Cops and America's Most Wanted when they aired back to back on Saturday evenings and he still tunes in for Cops to this day. I would usually watch it with him every now and again. I always liked the message that came across during their segment honoring servicemen that passed away saying, "It's not how they died that made them heroes. It's how they lived." I'm glad to hear it's still helping to bring fugitives to justice |

| I wanted to update this thread partly because the America's Most Wanted host John Walsh, said that he's starting a new fugitive-hunting TV show on CNN, probably in May! So I wanted to know if anyone was interested in watching it aside from another member who watched AMW over the years and may be interested in the new show. Of course I will watch it! ^^
I also put (TV-14) in the topic title due to the subject matter (this is real life true crime). |

| I remember this show, Also a time for a fact, - Quote :
- Code Adam is a "missing child" safety program in the United States and Canada, originally created by Wal-Mart retail stores in 1994. It is named in memory of Adam Walsh, the 6-year-old son of John Walsh.
now it is used in all stores, when i was working at Toys R us, i had to radio one in (had was working the floor and had a walk-talky with me) lucky the kid just had wondered off to look at toys |

| Yeah, I watched AMW. It was great help to locate fugitives on the run from the law. John Walsh was a tough man when it came to grief for his murdered son and his volunteerism to fight all sorts of crime. He made the public more aware of the issue of missing children, often through child abduction.
For my generation born and raised in the 1980's, we're taught to be extremely cautious around adult strangers whom may abduct us. John Walsh and his wife pioneered the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to provide a public service to assist in finding missing children and to prevent any more from getting abducted. Good to know John Walsh hasn't retired from his post. |

I know pretty much all of the still unresolved cases, lol. Also are you going to see the new CNN show? So excited there are AMW/JW fans aside from me here! |

| My mom really loves crime shows so I remember watching AMW a lot as a kid. I'm really glad he got a new show too. What happened to his son was a tragedy but he managed to turn hurt and pain into something positive and dedicated his life to making sure such a thing didn't happen to anyone else. I know he'll keep up the good work! |

| Would anyone be interested in me posting which cases that were aired on AMW and/or The Hunt get resolved from now on (fugitive arrested, suspect charged in unsolved crime, etc)? |
