I thought it might be neat to give members a special side bumper who reach a 1000 posts or more. It would give some recognition to very active members. This may sound like a silly idea but it just popped in my head. You could also offer points for OSA-P as well.

I believe that one of the many charms of GC is that it doesn't matter how many you've posted in ranks, so I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on this suggestion.

It hasn't gotten off the ground yet, but the staff had an idea for a badge system that would reward for reaching beyond a certain tier of posts.

I agree with Boromonokli I never understood why people cared about how much someone posted. I think the topics, tje games and meeting and communicating with people and learning new things are what Forums about. Worrying about post counts make it seem like it's some kind of competition and is very off putting to new members

I just think it shows how active people are... I didn't expect for everyone to feel so negative about it. I just thought it would be fun to say " I have 1000 posts!" and I get a little something for that.

I think it's a good idea, I just think it would encourage spam. But I like the idea and I love all the ideas you always contribute

I don't see how it would encourage spam. It might just give members an initiative to be more active, in my opinion.

Yup that is true! but all in all it might not be a bad idea. I mean there are a lot of us here and it might be nice to see something for it, but it would encourage spam..

Well, if someone is spamming just to get to a 1000 posts, couldn't we just punish them?

Yeah, spam is not allowed as per the rules of the forum (with exception of the Spam/Arcade games areas). I think its fun to commemorate when people reach certain post counts. I dont think it should be like a club or anything, but if we do get a badge type system in place, I believe we could make a couple of badges for post count.

High post count also can = GC Addict.
