What's your favorite background music, either from the dub or the original?

Also, does anyone else find the original "This is what will happen this episode" music to be horribly inappropriate for some episodes? They would eventually change it up to a more dramatic tune for the big episodes, but the cheerful violins seemed... such a terrible choice for some episodes. I know it was probably to distract you from the fact that something horrible was about to happen, but the clips said it all, didn't it?

From the original, I absolutely adore Tuxedo Kamen's intro music. Whenever he came on, I would just swoon because of the music alone as a child!

The Narration track, what happens in the dub's exposition intro, and whenever "stuff happens".

Usagi's original transformation themes in the first season.

The locket melody, and it's variations on different instruments.

Both really. Theres some parts where I liked DiC's music over the original, or visa versa, and not just because of nostalgia reasons.

DiC did a pretty good job capturing the right "feel" to a scene, I even noticed theres some parts of their score that actually borrowed the same melodies and notes as the original Japanese version. Pretty neat. Its a real shame they never put out an actual soundtrack.

The Japanese score is also enjoyable, but it's kinda dull at times and can get pretty repetitive, however it serves its main purpose as "background noise". I know I like putting on the soundtracks during a quiet afternoon, and need some non-distracting music while I'm trying to do whatever it is I'm doing. (Meanwhile DiC's score had a little more pep.)
There are some real gems mixed in among the more redundant tracks that stand out and outshine DiC's music, though. The Outer Senshi's themes, and the creepy circus themes from SuperS, being some great examples why i'm glad I got to hear those during my youth instead of DiC's music, which would later help form my appreciation for soundtracks.

It's an instrumental Otome no Policy.  That's my absolute favorite, but there are many more I love to listen to!

I REMEMBER THIS! It was so weird >.>. Though since I knew what was coming it almost made the moment more tense somehow 'cause of the mismatch?? The first time I saw that opening I was going crazy wondering if I had loaded up the wrong episode XD.

I have different favorites from each season, but in the S and SuperS season I really loved any time there was an "oooo Sailor Moon" bit XD. I guess it was only during the transformations and the SuperS eyecatch but yeah... Still one of my guilty pleasures to sing along with them! They're just so wonderfully cheesy and like... Vanna White or something lol.

From the DiC dub, I did like the 'Negaverse' bgm.

Uranus and Neptune's transformation background music-for sure! Such a MAD violin solo!
The starlights transformation music as well because it's such a jam, and march of the sailor solders. There's a lot more-but these are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head-at least out of the OST.

I' not a fan of Moonlight Legend, but in the final battle of the first arc, it fit perfectly with the scene as BGM, WOW.

Say what you will about Crystal but I legit liked it's BGM over the original series.

This one, hands down. It's got that 80s-flavored blood-pumping determination. Pretty fitting considering the song's title.

From the DiC dub, I loved the transformation music a lot. There's just something about it. And I also loved how powerful "She's Got the Power" is during the Senshi vs Black Moon Clan fight.

From the anime, there's so much! The Starlights music, the Outer Senshi transformation music, Saturns theme, Nehelena's music "Treachery". Practically all the opening and ending themes...it's iconic imho.

From the original, I really enjoy listening to Eien no Melody, Route Venus and Tuxedo Mirage. As for BGM... I have no idea XD It's been a really long while since I last saw any ep so I don't really remember the background music.

Where do I even begin with the OST? One of my favorite things about the 90s anime is it's BGM. I very often just listen to the BGMS, especially at work.

I keep coming back to this page and playing them while I work on my computer that doesn't have my OST collection XD. Great selections~! I actually feel like the beginning of the 3rd video link is in my top 5. There's just something about it... Maybe it's where the violins come in and even though things are kind of messed up for [insert character] right now, it'll be alright, y'know? Looking forward to Part II :3.

The music is really nice isn't it?  
I've got to say that I like "Eien no Melody" and "Route Venus" because I can play them, and the Starlights' songs also. "Unmei wa Utsushiku" and the image songs in general were also pretty sweet. I haven't listened to all the soundtracks from the other series' media, but the Starlights+Kakyuu songs in the musicals and the Sailor Moon Crystal opening+ending songs I thought were pretty awesome, and so were the first anime's ending songs, on that subject.

Ah hah, same! How many sheet music books were released for the series; was it just one for Sailor Moon R and probably one for Stars? I could never seem to find much information about musical score books for Stars.

Okay so this isn't an actual BGM cause its from the Sailor Moon Music Fantasy but I REALLY love the beginning part of this song before the actual song begins (the Overture).  The song is nice too!
