Since I don't have a profile done for Sailor Nemesis, it's probably a good idea to give someone an idea of her character.

She was originally discovered by Wiseman to have a senshi crystal at the age of 13, but while it wasn't they one he actually needed, he 'changed' it himself. Through sufficient and channeled use of the Nemesis essence, she awakened as the warrior of their planet rather than what she was supposed to. For two years she trained directly underneath him, while her family was elevated from the slums for having the sheer fortune of having the only senshi in centuries in their bloodline. Wiseman gave her the name Obsidian, to replace her civilian identity.

Her development as a senshi was remarkably quick, if only because necessity brought it on. In a year, she was considerably dangerous. In eighteen months, she was a shock soldier - even if one that was never 'good enough'. Wiseman's theory was simple enough - No matter how effective she truly was, she would never rebel or refuse orders if she believed that she was at fault. A dog was expected to obey, after all. So while she was quickly put to quashing rebellions over rations and related power on their starving planet, raids were soon put into addition of the patriotic duty.

It was only when she was 15 that she was brought before the Royal Family, and then because she was bleeding out from a nearly mortal wound. The younger prince's gentleness was what surprised her, Sapphire's apparent lack of direct action in combat coming as a welcome change. Lesser though he was in the eyes of the others, it was an almost immediate attachment for her to anchor to.

But that attachment and background admiration proved to her ultimate undoing. Now underneath both the General Rubeus and the noblewoman Emerald, whom both believed that Wiseman favored one more than the other in separate company, a more complicated version of his old ploy was put into play. While Obsidian proved to be 'adequate', it was not satisfactory. She must always somehow become better, for she was not worthy of her station. Or to even ask for a second look from the lesser prince.

Those words were only compounded when complications soon arose with her very nature as a senshi. Despite that cancer had been cured centuries ago on Earth, how her energies failed to disperse was startlingly like the disease. Although metaphysical, they tended to clump together and form 'tumors' - ones that grew more and more frequent as well as sizable. Sapphire was then given leave to study more medicinal traits of alchemy, if only to keep their main strike force from subjectively imploding; the lack of such treatments likely leading to death.

While the sessions continued to grow more and more frequent, so did the battles that she participated in. Currently at the age of 19, it would be sufficient to say that she is a deadly force. But not one without weaknesses.

(Obsidian may have quite a bit of baggage, but in her defense ... if you hear something long enough, you start to believe it. So, while they have warped her original crush into something of an obsession [not to the extreme of Emerald to Diamond, or Diamond to Serenity; but close] alongside a need to earn the right to simply be treated as human, most of her psychological weaknesses have been being cultivated intentionally. Sapphire is completely out of the loop, however; while Diamond is simply aware of it, but leaves the implementation to Wiseman and his lessers. Of course, the fact that Sapphire is also oblivious of even the slightest suggestion Obsidian may be uneasily-comfortable doing doesn't help matters; since Emerald is at the center of his romantic focus.
