So this weird little game has captured my attention for a couple days now. I've known about it for much longer than that but I never really played it because it's a PC game and I'm terribly uncoordinated with the ASDW and arrow keys but recently we got a SNES controller and it's perfect for playing this game ^^ 

Anyway for anyone that doesn't know what this game is it's a PC game about this little boy named Isaac that explores the basement of his house while he's trying to escape from his crazy mom. Turns out the basement has all these monsters in it and you (as the player) have to fight them to get to the deepest part of the basement and finally fight Mom. 

Oh, and did I mention that the way you fight the monsters is with your tears? And the items that you get throughout the game to make you stronger are amps to your tears or things that help you alongside them?

It's a really weird but fun game and definitely not for the light of heart xD Here's some photos from it:

Warning: The game is kinda bloody but not in a gore-y gross way. Everything looks like a child drew it up (cause it's from Isaac's point of view) so it's not bad xD:

Another thing about this game is that it's all based on chance and percentage. It's really nice because with so many items and ways to get them, every run you do is different. Wes has been playing this game since it came out and he's pretty sure he's never had the same combination of items ever. You can get items multiple times but you'll never get them paired up the same way. 

This is such a good game  I'm not even a gamer and I'm saying that xD

My girlfriend plays this game, and she's insanely good at it! It's a LOT of fun just watching her play.

The story about the guy who made this game is really interesting, too, from what she says.. there is a lot of symbolism, and he makes all his games as a way of coping with his traumatic past.

Yeah he's the one that made Super Meat Boy, which he references a lot to in this game, and he's got another game coming out soon (forgot the name), plus a redo of this game called The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. 

I've never played SMB but I've seen others play it and it looks like a fun (and really hard) game. Maybe when I get better at gaming ill give it a try xD

I haven't played the binding of isaac, but I have played our darker purpose which is similar in gameplay. Are there at least checkpoints/saves in the binding of isaac? Because there aren't any in our darker purpose and that is making things more or less a living hell to play.

My boyfriend just loves this game and I've seen him playing it a few times, specially the Rebirth. It's really strange and bizarre in many ways, but also makes a clever use of references, including some biblical ones.

Well, this game doesn't have any either. But there are dozens of items that can help you, and once you kill all the monsters in a room, they don't respawn unless you die and start over again. It's hard, but possible to reach the end XD
