| I had joined GC closer to its start, but have been incredibly and ridiculously inactive since the beginning. I'll post my intro that I had posted the first time. I promise to attempt to be more active this time around and I hope to get to know you guys!
------------------
Hello everyone! I'm Grace, but feel free to call me by my username as well. I'm 21 and from Indiana. I'm half-Japanese but was born in the States and don't speak the language (but I can pick up some from context clues) but have been trying to learn on and off for the past few years. I'm a currently working towards a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education.
I first got into Sailor Moon when I was 4 or 5. My grandmother would send over TV-recorded VHS tapes of Sailor Moon episodes/movies from Japan. Though I had no idea what any of the characters were saying, I fell in love with the show immediately. She also sent me various Sailor Moon costumes, toys, etc. Unfortunately, I gave them away years ago and no longer have them. Years later, I read the manga from English-language volumes I borrowed from a friend. Although I haven't kept up with the franchise in recent years, I'm very excited for the re-release of the manga in North America and will definitely be purchasing every volume.
I watch other various anime as well, though I seem to have fallen out of the loop recent. Video games are also another hobby (though I'm bad at them) as well as playing the piano.
I'm not quite sure what else to put on here... so I guess that's it! |

That's cool you play the piano! It is one of if not my favorite instrument. My roommate is a music teacher and plays..I've been trying to get him to teach me when he's not busy. Do you have a favorite composer? |

| Oh my, so many responses! I'm finally popular (haha)! I apologize in advance for the post being long since I'm going to try and respond to everyone.
@Anjyu: Elementary sounds fun. I wish now I would've majored in elementary instead of secondary. @ -@ As for my favorite senshi... That's such a tough question! I really like Sailor Jupiter (hence my avatar), but I also really like Sailor Mars and Venus, preferably together.
@Sailor Saturn: That sounds fun! However, I don't really have a way of learning hiragana/katakana/kanji. I have a friend's old textbooks, but I haven't really looked at them yet since I've been busy working this summer. But I would definitely like to try!
@Claudia: I follow you on tumblr and I love your stuff (fangirl moment, sorry)! Last semester was so busy for me and this year isn't going to be any better either (student teaching/graduation, yay?). BUT! I'm going to try and be more active because I'd love to actually be a part of the Sailor Moon fandom instead of lurking in the shadows. xP
@bunbun: Thank you! It's good to be back. ^ -^
@Sailor Uranus: So many teachers! I'm terrible at Physics. Or science-anything for that matter, so that's why I'm sticking to Social Studies, haha. Activities are always fun and I look forward to them! As for video games, I'm pretty bad at them so I don't play many. My favorite game of all time is probably Okami. Most recently, I finished Saints Row the Third. I played Vindictus pretty obsessively for a while. Oh! And I'm very much looking forward to the new Animal Crossing for the 3DS. Yeah, I'm pretty lame. T 3T What games do you like?
@Enigma: Out of any instrument, I would definitely recommend playing the piano. I think of it as the basis of all music and playing for so long really helped me ease into the violin when I started in high school. I have particularly songs I like, but I'm not really fixated on any certain composer... I do enjoy Chopin, if we're going with classical composers. For more modern, I like Yoko Kanno, Taku Iwasaki, Joe Hisaishi, and Yuki Kaijiura. What about you?
@Neo Queen Serenity: Thank you! I'm glad to be back and look forward to all the upcoming activities! *return huggles!*
@Sailor Jupiter: Haha, thanks! My username is actually what my dad calls me because it's a combination of my first and middle name. Also, go Sailor Jupiter! I'm sure I'll have some questions in the near future. There's so much stuff to do on this forum that I'll probably end up getting confused sooner or later, haha.
@Tsuki-no-Kagayaki: I hope so too! Now, about having free time, I'm not sure how much I'll actually have, but I'll have to stop in whenever I get the chance!
@JoJiaMystie: Thanks! I'm glad to be back and I hope to be back for good this time around! |

| Welcome back to GC, Greykei! Don't worry about your absence, life does happen, after all. We're just glad to have you with us. ^^
I am curious, though, how hard is it for someone to learn to read notes (and possibly longer if they have hearing issues)? I've thought about taking piano lessons from time to time, but reading music is like Greek to me. *Sweatdrop* |

| @Sailor Jupiter: You are too kind! ^ -^
@Sailor Pluto: I'm not quite sure about learning music with a hearing impairment... I have a slight hearing impairment, but it's only in sounds in lower registers. It developed during high school, so I was already able to read music by then. I started taking lessons when I was six, so reading treble and bass clefs are almost second nature to me now (I say "almost" because I haven't really played since I started college). It's actually not too bad learning the different clefs. There are tons of clever sayings to remember the different notes and it makes learning fun (or at least for a six year old it did, haha). However, it's something that you should probably work at for at least a little bit everyday. That way, you can really get it to stick in your head. |

| Well, I've always loved listening to piano music, so being able to actually replicate it would be amazing. My impairment is only having 10% on my right side, so I'd imagine that compared to someone with full hearing, it makes quite a bit of a difference (I've never had full hearing, so I can't really tell). |

| Hm. I'm not sure if it'd make a difference. I'm sure there would be some difficulty especially when playing notes that are in the higher range (on your right side), but I wouldn't let it discourage you from playing. Piano is a great stress reliever for me and I'd highly recommend you picking it up! It's so much fun. |

I'm also curious if you like written forms of entertainment as well, though. We're still trying to kickstart our RP boards, so another person is always welcome. |

| I used to RP a long, long, LONG time ago, back when Avidgamers was still around (do you know what Avidgamers is or is this a "showing my age" moment?). I've tried to get back into it several times, but could never really find the drive. Would it be okay if I lurked for a bit? I find my writing quite embarassing, actually. xP |

| I've heard of it, but not many people I've talked to mention it a lot. And why would you think you're old? You still have quite a ways left to go, XD.
And, yeah, there isn't an issue with lurking. (Though I doubt that your writing is that bad, since you're four years older than me. ^_^") But, if you want to just give RPing a shot again, feel free to start or join something in the Practice board. No need to have characters or storylines approved for that one. |

| Haha, I know I'm not that old, but I just feel old sometimes, especially with my turning 22 in a few weeks. T -T
Writing does not necessarily get better with age! Trust me, I've graded some essays that will make you cry tears of loss of faith in humanity. I'll think about it and check it out. I've never Sailor Moon RP'd though, so I don't even have a character, haha. Maybe I should start thinking about one... |

| XD. *Patpat*
Well, I've unforunately seen that in stories I've critiqued for people also older than myself. But as a teacher, you're bound to at least apply some of the basic rules (even if they're bent in favor of personal style; which is what I do. Critiques label my own grammar as "sparodic", XD).
And don't feel bad about that. I've only just now gotten to be an active member in the fandom in the past year or so, maybe a bit before that, so I haven't had OCs before recently. (Unless you count the ones I'd rather not claim when I first started watching the show at the age of six, XD. I personally don't count them.) |

| @Sailor Pluto: I was talking about academic (or really "academic" because I don't know how you can consider turning what I read in for a grade) writing. I try to look at academic and creative writing separately. I would definitely not turn in anything that I've written for fun. When I RP'd, I think my writing was more flowing with my train of thought, rather than following any actual syntax.
Oh man, you should've seen my OCs back in the day. I had some Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho ones (if you're familiar with either of the series) that were horrendous.
@Anjyu: Sailor Jupiter is incredibly badass and I wish I could be her. I'd love to be able to cook and be super strong! But no... /sadface |

| Well, I do separate the purpose of them. When it comes to paper type things, I follow the typical writing rules. When it comes to my novels or fanfiction, I bend them to suit my personal style. The rules may be tweaked, but they're still recognizable while also giving my stories a noticeable "voice".
I unfortunately don't know those series, but I've heard of them. |

Beethoven. A generic response, aint it? ^^. I listen to more classical, but for modern I like Ludovico Einaudi, Yiruma..Daniel Powter, there's a lot great modern artists. Yeah, my roomate also has said of it being the basis of all music. I'm enjoying it thus far, even though I don't get much time for it with my busy schedule! |

| @Sailor Pluto: Oh no, showing my age again. I guess those anime are quite dated. I can still love them even though they're kinda bad!
@Sailor Selene, Small Lady, Hishou no Senshi: Thank you! ^ -^
@Enigma: I love Yiruma! I forgot about him... Haven't listened to his stuff in awhile. Yeah, busy schedules definitely kill my practice time. Also the fact that I don't have easy access to a piano/keyboard while I'm at school. I don't have the balls to go and practice in the lounge in front of people. xP |
