There was a ton of new music in PGSM from a new Intro, to several Character Songs done by each Senshi. What are some of your favorite songs? Who do you think they were about? And who sang it best? We heard a lot of differnt people sing Minako's C'est La Vie through out the series, as well as the special concert they had.

I hate to be disrespectful to Ayaka Komatsu but she couldn't really sing... the same with Keiko. I mean, Ayaka did an okay job but the songs are easy to sing so it's not really an accomplishment. I really wonder, did the actresses even know they were going to have to sing? I don't penalize Keiko at all because she's a grand actress and she did the best she could. Then again, I suppose Ayaka did too. Japanese pop usually sounds vibrant but the singing is never elaborate.
As annoying as the songs were initially, "C'est La Vie," "Romance," and "Kiss! Bang!" by Ayaka/Minako are fun. And I love the "Kirari Sailor Dream" because it's such a happy song. I smile like a giddy idiot every time I hear "Make uppuh shiyo yo. Kirameki wa mune ni."
-_- that one episode where Alisa Durbrow sang as Mio... gosh, I wanted to shoot myself. It was bad singing and a bad song!!

You know I think you are probably right, that the actress didn't consider/know they would have to sing. There was an interview that Usagi, Ami,(I don't know their actress' names I think Usagi's actress name is Miyuu... and Ami changed it... it was or is Chisaki?) and Keiko did when the first character songs came out. When Keiko was asked about her song all she said was that it was hard, and it was hard, she was having trouble with the rythms I think, so I don't think she was planning on doing any singing. Kinda surprised you didn't mention Usagi since she seemes to be the one that gets called out the most. Even though I think her obnoxious renditions of "C'est La Vie" are intentional haha I really liked the intro to Luna song though....

Ha, I think it's kind of cute Keiko isn't the best at music. Apparently she had a lot of trouble with the choreography in Kirari Super Live. But, what I like is that she's a trooper. There are certain singing methods she used in her songs that I know she had to implement to sing the best she could; it wasn't easy for her and I can tell she had to work on it.
Ami's actress' name is Rika Izumi but at the time it was Chisaki Hama.
And, yeah I figured Miyuu Sawai purposely sang out of tune and I found them hilarious. It's what my friends and I do when we sing karaoke despite the fact that we're all decent singers!!

Out of all the character singles from PGSM I love Chiaki's Yakusoku the most. There's just something about it that's very calm and nostalgic.
Romance is probably my second favorite, I learned the hand movement dance to it that was on the instruction video. It's a very poppy, bouncy, feel good song.

You know I get that same feeling when I listen to it. It's strange considereing they used that song for Rei and Ami's party.

I love them all, really. But I find myself singing Sayonara~Sweet Days alot more lately. I was extremely obsessed with Kiss! Bang! at first, but got worn out singing it so much. Hah. And I like Sweet Little Resistance. Go Luna! XP

let's get this topic out of the graveyard!
i simply adore the songs!
"c'est la vie" is super cute and the same goes for "romance".
another one i really like is "change of pace". and the opening one, "kirari sailor dream".
i don't really think sawai miyuu can sing. in my opinion, she is the worst of them. just listen to "over rainbow tour". now chisaki hama(or whatever her name is now, rika something i guess) is the best one. no wonder she is a singer nowadays.
but in all together, i can just sit and listen to the songs all day long. i just wish tuxedo kamen had his own song
komatsu ayaka isn't that brilliant as well, but gets the job done.

My all-time favorite is Yakusoku, I can just listen to it and feel melancholic/nostalgic/peaceful at the same time. It's an excellent song.
C'est La Vie took forever to grow on me, mostly because it was played like every other episode that it got annoying (also let's be honest, it doesn't have the greatest melody or anything and often reminds me of a kid's song). But after I finished the series, it started to grow on me and now I quite like it.
I also love Sakura Fubuki, I think it's a classy song and the one that sounds most mature out of all of them.
Romance and Here We Go were fun too, but I'd kind of grown out of them now.
Ooh wait I lied. My absolute favorite is 'Friends'. It's so uplifting and nice and it just makes me think of the girls every time. It brings tears to my eyes for various reasons; it being the ending song just reminds me of the time I first finished PGSM and how sad it was to say goodbye to these girls, and also envy because I could never have friends as awesome as they are.
I do think Miyuu's voice is the weakest out of all of them, though.
