Come on in, take a seat! The Haiku contest is just about to begin! But what is a Haiku, you ask?
So for anyone who doesn't know, a Haiku is a Japanese poem written in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern, like the example above. A Haiku, like any other poem, will generally have a central theme, in this case my theme was about Japan and Haikus. But it can be anything, weather, seasons, art, even anime! Whatever piques your interest and sounds like it would make a good Haiku.
All Haiku entries will be PM'd to me. The entry period starts Monday September 24, and ends Monday, October 1. I will select my top three favorites, which will be displayed here, and voted on to choose the winner. From October 1 to October 6, whoever wishes to vote will PM me their choice. (Please note, if you are one of the contenders, do not vote for yourself, or your vote will be ignored). On the last day of the World Fair the winner will be announced, as well as second and third place. All other Haikus will be displayed, as well as who wrote them.
Good luck!
Ganbare, Minna-San! (Do your best everyone!)
EDIT
So instead of picking just a few, I'm going to share all of them here. Don't forget to vote for your favorite!
When you do not know
What to write a Haiku on,
Write about Haikus.

The radiation.
It can't be ignored but still
Life goes on in hope.
I wish to be there
Their cuisine so heavenly
Oh be still, my heart
The most perfect day.
Music, good books, hot tea, and
Through the window, rain.
Autumn is now here
Crunching leaves,the sound of breeze
Now I have to rake
