|  As the spotlight settles once again on the podium on the stage, star-shaped lights flicker and bounce against the inky blue curtain that hangs like a backdrop. After nary a moment's pause, the click of heeled boots sounds as the announcer approaches the stage. There's a brief murmur through the crowd—some of them remember her from awards ceremonies of previous years, but something's a bit different now.
Perhaps it's the sailor suit in shades of blue.
A smile softens Sailor Mercury's lips as she takes a moment to adjust the small stack of envelopes in her hands, tapping them lightly against the podium." Tonight we are here to honor the many wonderful people who make up our fine community! In particular, the place where anything that can be imagined can become a joint work of fiction—the Silver Millennium, our roleplay section!" White gloved hands carefully open one of the envelopes, removing a note card." We have so many wonderful roleplayers among us! and our eternal overlord, Sailor Uranus!" For those of you who were nominated for this award, please accept our accolades and this special stamp!" She pauses for a moment, keen eyes surveying the crowd, and her fingers touch the edge of the next envelope, ready to reveal its contents." " Thank you all so much for your participation in this year's Stars of the Cauldron awards!" With that, the announcer bows slightly as the spotlights dim, then quietly walks off the stage. |
