That would be cool, but I feel like the time right around Christmas is usually when blockbusters come out, so I'd imagine getting a film into theaters around that time would cost a lot of money for Viz, even if it's for a limited time. I didn't see the theater rerelease of the R movie but I feel like they were probably mostly at smaller indie theaters? That or large franchise theaters with a showing on a weekday.

Yeah, all of the theaters showing the R movie near me were at least an hour away, and most were only showing it for one day on like. Thursday afternoon. (Which is why I didn't go see it.) A few showed it twice to have the sub and new dub. In some more urban areas, I think they actually had it for multiple days and times.

I think a Christmas-day showing is really unlikely because most theaters only show it for one day and most people who might otherwise see the movie probably wouldn't because they're either spending the day with their usual Christmas plans or watching one of the bigger movies.

However, a seasonal showing would still be nice! Either the first day of Winter (still questionable, because it's December 21st) or just in winter in general with a wintry theme. I personally would love if there was a showing over my winter break, because me and my irl Sailor Moon friends all go to different schools in far off places, but if it was over break, we'd be home and could all take a roadtrip to go see it together.
