I've got some character ideas bouncing around in my head, and it made me think about powers for sailor soldiers... and that leads me to consider characters' weapons.

There are a variety of interesting weapons in the original Sailor Moon series.

• Sailor Moon herself has a variety of wands and staves that she uses for her attacks, a kaleidoscope among them
  
• Sailor Mars has her talismanic scrolls and later her fiery bow and arrows
  
• Sailor Mercury a visor and computer initially and gains harp of water
  
• Sailor Jupiter uses the lightning rod on her tiara at first and gains an oak-leaf crown in her super form—and she has that ball of potpourri in the manga
  
• Sailor Venus with the chain and sometimes a sword, along with her mirror as Sailor V
  
• Sailor Saturn's glaive
  
• Sailor Uranus's sword
  
• Sailor Neptune's mirror and sometimes her violin
  
• Sailor Pluto's staff and orb along with the keys she carries
  
• Sailor Chibi Moon's wand and bell
  
• Tuxedo Mask has his cane, roses, and sword

That doesn't even touch on the live-action weapons: tambourines, swords, daggers, spears, etc.!

I feel like I frequently see fan-created characters with wands or swords. I can understand why—they popular because they are interesting.

I've really never thought of weapons for mine..except when we did that Steampunk RP with PoetofMercury

Hm, I'm not well versed inlooking at other Otaku asides from the ones created on GC. But I dont' think I've seen to many medieval/fantasy sorts of weapons beyond swords or staffs. Maybe a spiked ball and chain or a hammer or polearms

Sailor Desert Scorpion - Golden Scorpion Tails (very poisonous, and thrown like daggers)

Sailor Desert Cobra - Cobra Vectors - extremely poisonous and gold in color.

Sailor MyunWangSung - Two black onyx pendelums. Can be used for hypnotism or just general bloodshed.

Sailor Su Sung - Sapphires in between her fingers with retractable icicles. They are a permanent part of her body. And her being blind, it's amazing she can wield them so well

Sailor Reaper - Pretty much a needle syringe staff. The staff part itself is her victims blood, which energizes her attacks.

Sailor Hakushi - A strand of mini golden bells she can turn into a variety of things.

It's perfectly fine to have a sailor soldier without a weapon! ♥ Sometimes they're not necessary. But they can also be a fun addition!

Brit, I think you make a good point about medieval weapons. They're don't come up too frequently, but there were all kinds of interesting-looking things made and used in that time period.

Perhaps someone could take a weapon with a good concept but poor execution and use "magic" to justify it actually being functional. XD I'm think of some "trick weapons" that were invented over the years: lasers and items to emit them, weapons that required complicated assembly, certain guns meant to fire ammunition other than bullets, etc.

Wow, those are some great options, Starchild! ♥ I particularly like the use of sapphires as retractable blades and the syringe!

XD The Galilean Moon senshi ended up all using different weapons when I made them.

Sailor Io- Her headset/helmet and built in speakers control sound waves and radio frequencies.

Sailor Ganymede- She uses mainly an ax with a blade formed by lightning, changing its shape when needed.

Sailor Europa- A scythe made of ice that creates weather effects.

Sailor Callisto- A buckler shield that channels her barrier powers and can be thrown like Captain America's, and then she has claws built into her gloves

I actually have a team of senshi who wield medieval weapons. One Even wears the metal face mask thing I can't remember the name of. I won't post their pictures or anything here. Since it could be considered against condict. I was inspired by the Hellraoser Cenobytes. They basically just appear in front of sinners and destroy them.

You forgot to mention Sailor Moon's tiara and darts. XD

For Cronus she currently has a jeweled pearl for firing out a couple types of beams. Later she gets a kerykion, and after that a harpe. (The original Cronus was said to use an adamantine harpe along with the scythe.) She also has a jewel in her hair that senses danger.

In the past I have given her shurikens, a sword that was similar to a halberd, and a standard magic sceptor/ wand.

Other items I have given my characters-- whether in manga, fanfic, or role play-- include things like a chain whip, flash bomb earrings, metal fans, a mini computer built into the back of a glove, an assortment of candy with different effects, a sparkler/ fireworks launcher, goggles (?), some sort of polearm I can't remember right now, a microphone, a tiara chakram, some kind of dangly jewel on somebody's ribbon, I can't even remember what that did... I think it became some sort of magic wand...

I know I have more, but I can't recall. XD

Two of my otaku senshi have weapons or items that they use. First is Sailor Mi-Ke Mau, Senshi of Good Luck and Fortune, who uses a large hammer called Lucky Star. Second, there's Sailor Aeolus, Senshi of Winds and Breezes (and Stars, latently)—and Caretaker of the Four Winds—who uses a special cage to capture the Winds after they're corrupted by Chaos. Her story's like Sailor Moon mixed with Cardcaptor Sakura and Kingdom Hearts II. XD

My character uses a staff that's almost like Sailor Cosmos's. I'm so original. xD
