Universe Specific Information:
In the world of Pokémon, humans live, work, learn, and fight alongside very special wild creatures known as Pokémon. These living things possess innate magical abilities that allow them to attack, defend, use innate abilities, and more. They naturally bond with humans and can use their powers with direction from the human they bond with, referred to as their "Trainer". Humans have developed technology that allows them to collect and store Pokémon in devices called Pokéballs, with information recorded in Pokédexes.

Fighting Pokémon against one another is more than mere sport in this world—it allows survival, when traveling in areas with wild Pokémon, and it fosters camaraderie between other Trainers and their Pokémon. Buildings called Gyms house a particularly strong Trainer known as a Gym Leader and are generally thematic. Defeating a Gym Leader earns a Badge. Collecting the requisite Badges allows one to face the Pokémon League. Defeating the Pokémon League establishes a Pokémon Champion.

When a child turns a particular age they qualify to become a Pokémon Trainer. By visiting their local Pokémon research facility and meeting the Professor of their area, they can receive a starter Pokémon and some basic equipment that they take on their journey to explore the world—possibly to try to become the next Pokémon Champion.

Storyline Specific Information:
(RTRP) PokéBeginnings: Black and a group of new trainers gathered together at Professor Maple's laboratory to be given their very first Pokemon, and also recive a Pokemon Egg which they would have to hatch on their own.

Pokemon Prism- Black is a trainer from the small town of Nuvema, and is a part of a group of other new trainers who traveled to Professor Maple's lab to receive a Pokemon. She also gains possession of a mysterious egg just waiting to hatch. They're now off to explore the mysterious Raitoh region, a new area between Kanto and Sinnoh.

Additional Information:
Black was born in Nuvema Town, Unova, and grew up in a very small community that just happened to have a Pokemon Professor. She lived with her mother and older brother, Hilbert, until he left on his own journey around Unova two years ago. Black never met her father, though the Dark Stone hanging on a chain around her neck used to belong to him. She made friends with two children around her age, a studious boy named Cheren and a clumsier girl named Bianca. They all occasionally helped out in Professor Juniper's lab, and though she didn't consider herself cut out for academic work, Black wanted to be a trainer. As soon as she was legally old enough to get a licence, she left the region to get a Pokemon of her own, promising her friends that she'd come back and battle with them. She loves Pokemon battling the most, but she's willing to try just about anything involving Pokemon. Her dream is to challenge and master Unova's Battle Subway challenge in Nimbasa City.

Pokemon-
Tepig (Fire Type): A Gentle natured male with an iron-strong will hidden underneath. He isn't battle hungry, but he won't give up in a fight either. He seems to be much less fiery than his actual trainer.

RP Sample: Today was the day! After years of waiting to fill out the trainer applications, Black was finally ready to become one. Last night had been spent shoving as many supplies as she could into a backpack before the zipper burst, and then agonizing over what clothes she should wear. After ripping through her already messy room, she came up with a set of hiking boots, a pair of jean shorts, and a t-shirt and vest. And no decent trainer could go on an adventure without a hat.

Black had gotten the pink and white cap in the mail as a birthday present the week before, and it was the perfect thing to take with her. She adjusted her outfit one more time, and looked over her room one more time. It was plastered with old posters for Pokemon tournaments, her shelves filled with video games (and a few academic books) about Pokemon as well. She wasn't as much of a reader as her brother or Cheren, but she'd watched so many battles that were broadcast on television that she felt pretty prepared. Well, about as prepared as someone from a small town like this could be.

"Hilda!" Black winced as her mother called from downstairs. "Are you up yet? The taxi gets here in an hour!" She didn't particularly care about being called Hilda at home, but it was always a little embarrassing when other people did it. She picked up her bag and then grabbed the black stone charm that sat on her desk and hung it around her neck. It was an old family heirloom, and it felt right to take it with her for good luck.

"Coming!" Black thundered down the steps, already picking up the smell of breakfast.
