Advanced Character Profile

Character Name: Heylel, The Devourer
Gender: Male
Age: Around 1000 years old.

Used Canons: General Sailor Moon Knowledge

Appearance: "The Devil wears white and has the wings of an angel".

If Heylel used to be as much in shape as you would expect from an army's captain, he is now very far from that, showing a rather thin form. Though he still is healthy (and also cheating a bit on how he wants his naked body to look), the lack of too much fat is also accompanied by a lack of muscle - let's not forget that 100% of his skin is burned under the illusion he offers others' eyes.

He has long fingers, what were once long and strong legs as well as arms that have seen better days. It is a hint to his physical strength that has depleted a lot since his prime (before Lillake's attack). His jaw was never really squared, which is probably the only thing that didn't change from then to now. He has long black hair he prefers to sport tied into a pony tail, even if some rebel hair do fall against his forehead.

His eyes are blue, but always hidden behind the yellow glasses he wears. He also has the mask and collar blocking half of his face from view.

His wardrobe is usually white, though sometimes he will allow himself to wear something of a pale color above all the white, just to add a more distinguished touch. His usual outfit is close to a kimono, often closed with a pale grey belt. He will sometimes carry with him a pale gray (or pale purple) blanket to put over himself. Since his body is not very resilient, he wears light fabric, never any armor and usually doesn't carry any bag or heavier belt than the one he actually has to keep his clothes together. With the kimono-like robes he wears he usually stays only in socks, unless it's a business meeting, then he wears very light and white shoes. When he wears a suit, all is white except for his shirt who is then pale purple, pale blue or pale gray. His shoes, when he wears any, are white and black. If he wears gloves, they will usually be black, but he prefers when he doesn't have to wear them.

Despite glamouring himself, he always wears long sleeves, long pants, etc, because though nobody can see his body, he knows and he can, so he prefers when it's hidden from view.
Visual Help:
Personality: Heylel comes off as usually charming and charmer. He likes making good first impressions and his upbringing allowed him to transform the military respect in fake politeness that's so polished it's sometimes hard to know he actually doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself. He is polite, soft, kind, generous and will usually make others believe he is here to help them. Or he will gain someone's trust when he generally has something in mind for them (or against them). He shows a great deal of chivalry attitude which comes really from how people expected you to be when he lived still on planet Oblivion. Since then, he learned how to use it to his advantage, even if he doesn't feel its truth anymore.

When his mask is dug through, however, what's left of his real personality is very scarce. The softness is then dipped in layers of poison, hatred seems to be what he feels most of the time, anger fuels him every day and he has a very profound disgust of senshi. The common peasant on a planet, with no powers or the proud noble who never had any clue that powers existed get his gentler side without never discovering the truth. He likes them, he likes their powerlessness. They aren't a danger, they're actually those who must be protected from the most powerful ones and he knows it.

Considering how he hates what his body looks like without the glamour, he has become incredibly vain. He likes when the glamour shows the perfect side of him, without any of the flaws his skin could have had before. He's also shallow sometimes when it comes to other people. He chooses souls only if he finds the senshi pretty to begin with and he doesn't really like to hang out with some he would consider not to have the physical appeal he appreciates.

He is extremely ambitious, as seen by his earlier years where he chose work over his family, no matter how much he really loved them. Becoming King was his end goal, and after having this thwarted by Lillake, Chaos' offer allowed him to keep a certain amount of power over his own life (but also kept him from falling through the ranks and become a simple peasant). He's stubborn to the point of mistakes or to the point of not seeing when he should stop before losing everything.

Goal: Heylel's goal used to be about finding a healer that would help him repair the damage done to his body, but as time went on, the powers he now possessed because of Chaos became more important. Now he wants to kill every existing senshi he comes across (quite an impossible goal, but he lost sight of the possible and impossible a long time ago), to keep those powers he has now become dependent of and to harness even more powers for him to use. He lost sight of a lot of things, including how to live, how to dream and what is important beside the "Holy Mission" he was given.
Weakness: Heylel cannot hurt a child and even Chaos won't make him start. It's something he kept from who he used to be, but children are everything to him. They're the future, but they're also to be protected from the world. Children remind him of the daughter he left safely on his planet. Even if he might be able to overcome that if angered, even children senshi are usually safe from him. He is also very sensitive about his past and what happened to both him and his planet. (For physical weaknesses, please see disabilities).

Any Unique Abilities/Skills:
Telepathy: He is born a telepath, mental powers are the only powers he had naturally, the rest is Chaos given. He can communicate mentally with others, but he can also invade somebody's mind. It includes motricity control, mental control, and strong suggestion. He cannot force someone to kill themselves, though he can strongly suggest it, because the brain's survival instincts are generally too strong. See psychic limitation in disabilities for more info.
Charm: His voice generally serves as an emitter to seduce people in doing his bidding. He cannot use this anymore unless while Soul Switching and even then, he cannot control them anymore, he can only put them at ease and make others trust him instantly (unless he can get rid of the mask and collar, he won't ever be able to use this to its full potential ever again).
Soul Eating: This is how he fights. He eats the soul and star seed of someone to gain their identity and powers (they are still kept alive inside him in the meanwhile). He has a preference for magical souls of any planet (which includes Sailor Senshi) as they give him more power and he feels there's something poetic in annihilating a senshi with another senshi's powers.
Soul Switching: He chooses which of the star seed he ate he wants to use. If he fights, it's the senshi he's using that receives the damage (if wounded beyond repair, he will abandon her on a planet and continue on his way, replacing her later).
Glamour: He can psychically alter the perception of others, meaning that instead of seeing his damaged body, people will generally see him as he was before Lillake's attack on his planet. To help with that, he uses glasses he stole from Oblivion's priests that helps him keep the glamour up even when he is distracted or has to concentrate on something else (he wears them even in his sleep).
Any Unique Disabilities:
Voice Control: He wears a mask and collar that keeps him from speaking out loud. The mask and collar aren't there when he Soul Switch, so his voice makes that people strangely trust him right away, but it doesn't hold as much power as when he's in his own body.
Physical Disadvantage: If Heylel was once good with a sword and a particularly ruthless fighter, he cannot fight anymore. Lillake damaged his body, entirely marking it in her attack. The toll it took on it makes that he lacks strength, speed and endurance. He now fights using the souls he ate.
Vision Limitation: Because of his glasses - that he never takes off - he only sees in shades of yellow. He doesn't quite remember how all the colors look like.
Psychic Limitation: When he uses any senshi star seed he has, he can use his telepathy to a limit. He can read people's mind, he can speak in their mind, but he cannot control them unless he uses his own body. (Which considering how easy it is to fight, he generally doesn't use it a lot).
Soul Limitation: He cannot have more than five souls inside him at a time or the sheer amount of powers could destroy him. He cannot use them at the same time, he only has the power of the senshi he chooses to transform into. If he changes into another senshi, he cannot access the powers of the previous one, unless he changes back into her (which he never does because the point is to deceive people not to say: Hey, I'm the Devourer, hi~).
Soul Switching: When he has to replace a senshi because another one interests him (or because one of his captive is too wounded to use anymore), but he has already too much in him, he releases the soul and star seed of the one he doesn't want anymore. Which means that the senshi is alive and returned to her planet (if it's still there), but sometimes, many of them aren't welcomed back, unless their people know they were being impersonated by someone else.

History: Heylel is born on planet Oblivion, where magic was commonplace. For Heylel – and all the boys his age – there was two big choices of what you would do in life : follow the magical path (which could lead to high posts such as High Priest or King's Advisor) or follow the military path (which could lead to candidacy to be King – this election, though serious, was sometimes seen as a game for the candidates and there was usually little to no competition, being a bad player not seen very well among the people, though it did happen that a rejected candidate tried to kill another one whether by jealousy or hatred, which disqualified them right away.). Heylel, despite a strong telepathy, chose the latter, entering the army in his teens and training to serve and defend his planet. He was ambitious – sometimes too much said his superiors – and his determination – read stubborness – payed off when he was finally promoted as captain of one of the ten armies (making him a candidate for the election to the throne).

He married before his promotion and with his wife, they had a daughter. Even though he did love them very much, his ambition once again came first and he stayed often late at work, training his subordinates, making sure everything was in order, taking extra shift at the spatial observation tower (which was used to prevent alien invasion). When he was promoted, he worked even harder, doing his very best to have as much chance as the other candidates to be elected King by their people. If he sometimes forgot about the smaller things helping the greater things to happen, he knew that with the right advisors he could make a good King.

While Sailor Galaxia attacked the Milky Way, another Sailor Soldier, Sailor Lillake, was inspired and attempted to follow her example, invading planets after planets, until she finally landed on theirs. But their planet never had a senshi and when she saw there was no one to clash swords with, she attacked what she thought to be common civilians (who were the captains at the time) and a fight broke off. Captains and priests fought against her to chase her out of Oblivion, but they weren't strong enough. Heylel was wounded by one of her attacks, the dark electricity she wielded burning him entirely. She left behind her desolation as entire towns were destroyed despite their efforts. Half of the candidates perished and among the civilian's losses, Heylel lost his wife. Humiliated, angry and mourning, he never questioned it when one night he came across quite a strange man.

He never gave a name, but he offered him a choice, one that would allow him to find who was responsible for Oblivion's destruction and also to repair what had been done to him. Blinded by his emotions, Heylel accepted without thinking, receiving the powers that would made him The Devourer in a not so far away future. Sailor Lillake needed to be stopped and Chaos told him he was the only one now with the abilities to do so. With Chaos' powers now making him powerful enough to face her, Heylel took off and sought the Sailor who had laid waste on the planet that was his home. When he finally found her, he didn't give her any time to defend her actions, stealing her soul and star seed, swallowing her powers.

Chaos had been clear, Sailor Lillake wasn't the only warrior laying waste to the universe. They were many, but with his powers he could certainly cleanse the world, or even the universe, from their influence. Heylel had never seen a senshi before, had never known of their existence and thus never wondered whether there were good senshi or not. For him every and each one of them was an enemy.

At first, he used Chaos to try and find a healer who would be able to restore his body to what it was before, but the more he chased after those divine warriors, the more he loved the power and the less he actually sought for a healer. He didn't want to stop. He used Sailors names and powers to wage a war in the universe. It went on for many years. He would possess some great warrior and wreck havoc in the galaxy, destroying the reputation of the protector he had stolen both soul and star seed. He created wars among people, among planets and even among solar systems until one day, he was stopped by a Sailor Senshi on a elusive and hidden planet.

Despite that his crimes were crimes of war, the planet that caught him wasn't as strict on war and murder than others he'd visited and thus wasn't put to death. He was instead imprisoned in solitary confinement.

Heylel was many years in jail before escaping, aggravating the way he saw the world and what he thought should be done. During those years, the planet he was imprisoned on designed a mask and a collar that would protect them from his voice and his powers of suggestion (those people didn't know that he was actually telepath, so though it did annoy him, it didn't render him powerless). They made so there was something feeding him while making sure his mouth wouldn't be able to emit a sound (mostly through a tube), allowing him to live (even to this day, Heylel still hasn't found the way to open it and Cosmos knows he tried). After years of regaining his strengths, he finally was able to control the guards into letting him out, and then went after the senshi's star seed. He swallowed her and flew away, returning the same senshi to one of her planet's moons 20 years later after a fight damaged her permanently.

And now, he's still moving forwards, battling what he thinks are the forces of evil, unknowing that on his planet, his daughter awakened as its Sailor protector the very same moment he killed for the first time in the guise of Sailor Lillake.

Other Noteworthy Facts: Heylel comes from a far away galaxy so when he came to the Milky Way and noticed how young many of the warriors he met were and how different their uniforms, he used his psychic powers to revert his borrowed forms into their teenage years and upgraded the uniforms to look more similar to the overall senshi of this galaxy.

Powers:
"Darkness Release!": A dome of dark energy appears around one or more people. It can either serve as a prison or a torture mechanism (it can send black electricity to anything inside the dome).
Heart Usurpation: Sailor Lillake charms an enemy and can order it to attack their friends or another enemy.
"Ecliptic Thunder!": Grey clouds form above the battlefield. Black thunder gathers in one ball of electricity before falling to the ground - and towards the enemy - before the ball bursts into many small thunderbolts. Can hurt one or more people depending of the distance between them all.
Shadows Protection: Lillake seems to disappear, the only thing left of her being a shadowy tracing of her figure. She cannot attack or be attacked in this form (unless her enemy can control or touch shadows).
Energy Corruption: She subtly sends dark energy in the air. The more people get sensitive from it and angry or violent, the more her energy increase. Though this energy is not a visible one, a powerful mind can notice it and Lillake needs to concentrate.
Weapons or Magical Items: She wears a golden bracelet with a white jewel. The jewel is actually the soul and star seed of Lillake in solid form. If the gem was broken, it would free the captive senshi.
Guardian: None
