On a personal note I am super biased toward JST. It would be super cute as an SM themed website to put things in the timezone the SM universe takes place in.

XD I am biased towards CST because I live in that time zone and, at least once upon a time, most of the rp section staff and a good number of main site staff lived within that zone or easily converted to that zone (like exactly-12-hours-off Sailor Mercury XD); while I think JST is cute for the source factor, I don't think it would make things easier for people to remember as far as event times go because there'd be a constant conversion to do (or include, for people setting up the event), including changing the day due to JST being past the date line, and halfway through the year that conversion would switch due to Daylight Savings Time being observed in the US and nowhere else @.@ 

I'm more for people putting in their actual timezone and choosing the most populated of those to be GC's standard time, as that'd be easier to swap to and from and would keep the same day.

I'm basically with Kyra on this one. Since a majority of our users are either in the US, Canada, S. America or Europe it would be easier to do a time zone based closer to those so this vote would help with that.

I'm also fine with UTC/GMT (btw random fact GMT stands for Greenwhich Mean Time cause Greenwhich is onthe UTC line or whatever xD) cause I know how to convert that pretty easily even with the confusing daylight savings. xD Theres also time converter sites and you can add time zones onto your smart phones clock to see what time it is in other countries. I have personally added Bubble's time zone so i can spy on her see what time it is in her country xD (also its fun cause my phones widget also shows me the weather so i can see what the weather is like for Bubbles at any given time xD)

Though I live in the EST, I voted for the CST, because it's only one hour off for me, and seems easiest for most people.

I live in EST, but I voted for GMT. To me, it makes more sense because it's a set standard, it's more inclusive to everybody on the forums, and it uses the 24-hour clock like 99.9% of the world. XD

CST is actually pretty hard for me, since this is like 7 hours behind of me, dang.

But anyways, CST is probably going to be taken for the GC's Official Time Zone, so it has to be fine with me lol

First vote for PST (CA and the west coast), due to partly NeoQueenSerenity (site founder) is in NorCal and I'm in SoCal. I see the EST leads the voting poll, because a large portion of forum members are in the east coast or northeast corridor (NYC area has more people than the LA metro and SF bay areas). And the Greenwich time vote, since the meridian (0 longitude) crosses London, once capital of a world empire (Great Britain in 24 time zones). If the site staff chooses an "official" time zone, I'm fine with that and can convert GC event times to my time zone.

Anyways, does the GC have an "official" language (being English?) since the majority of members uses English in posts? There are translators online to make the site into the person's native language.

Yes, a.k.a. official, astronomy and military time, like the time now is 1406 hours Pacific time for me, 8 hours behind Greenwich meridian time. Most of continental Europe is a hour ahead of Great Britain's time. And the Atlantic time zone in eastern Canada (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) is a hour ahead of eastern, plus Newfoundland (the island) is a hour and a half ahead.

UTC can be written in 24 hour format, but if we adopt it we will likely use 12 hour format since most users are familiar with that format. 

I changed my vote to this considering what Andi and Kyra said. Japanese time changing the day may confuse members as to which day events are occuring, despite the cuteness lol! After that one, UTC seems the fairest to me.

Also, while we've never announced an "official" language for GC, it is and will remain English as many countries around the world understand and use the language, and the admin team and staff are familiar with it.

i went for PST shocking i know as im a est zoner and all that sparkles but hey i can add/sub 3 hrs its not that hard, PLUS i can always convert XD

I voted EST because I live in it, but I've been using CST for Rp stuff and forum stuff since forever so I'm use to it!

I dunno I'm tempted to choose the time zone I'm in but I also like how GMT is more universal. I'll choose GMT since it's a little easier for everyone, including myself, to navigate with.

Was just at Greenwich last month (almost two months ago?! ) and I made that [super] steep hike up to the observatory at the park to see the Greenwich Mean Time thingy - the laser that indicates the time zone thing. Fun fact: apparently, Greenwich is not right on the 0 degree thingy.

Anyway! EST for meh. It's easiest to work out IMO why is JST an option?

My second choice is UTC because it:bunnypervert: might be a good choice though to make it easy for international peeps as well.

I voted EST as well, since It's my timezone. I wouldn't mind UTC though!

I voted for Eastern time because it's easier for me to figure out how many hours different it is from my time zone (Pacific time) than to figure out how many hours different GMT is from my time zone (I know the latter is usually 8 hours, but the note from Sailor Uranus/Kyra here leaves me unsure whether or not it's sometimes different).
