In the third volume of the first arc, Mamoru is brainwashed by Queen Beryl and told to kill Sailor Moon and steal the Silver Crystal.

Later, we see Motoki to a guy named Endo--a blond guy with glasses. After they part, Mamoru walks over to him and fires some eye beam or something at him, and he disappears. Then he brainwashes Motoki into thinking that Mamoru is Endo. Reika thinks this is strange and mentions it to Usagi and the other girls...and that's the last we ever hear of him.

What happened to him? Did he just...die? Was he sent somewhere else? Brainwashed so that he didn't know who Motoki was? And was he revived when Sailor Moon healed the planet?

I feel kind of sad that his role was so minimal, and that he was never mentioned again.

Any ideas?

I really feel like he was killed, initially. It's possible (probable?) he was revived when Sailor Moon essentially reset the planet.

Honestly, it seems like his role was to be killed so possessed!Mamoru could be written in to a part like that. Sadly. Haha.

Yeah, I think when Usagi kills him, Endo dies but Mamoru is saved through the ~magical powers~ of the Silver Crystal. Not sure though, they never do make this clear and it is interesting.

Does this mean that Usagi has actually killed someone? O___O

I don't think Mamoru actually takes over Endo's body, so no, Sailor Moon doesn't kill him.

But this would mean that Mamoru killed someone. Even if he was possessed at the time, it would make him sad to know that. :p

I wonder if Motoki remembers Endo?

Endo is an unfortunate individual. Since Mamoru kills him while he is possessed by Beryl, making Endo technically a victim of Beryl, I assume that he is brought back to life when Usagi resurrects everyone who was killed during that time. Since Mamoru brainwashes Motoki into believing that he (Mamoru) is Endo, I also feel that once everything returns to normal, Motoki will not remember Mamoru's evil actions, just like everyone in Tokyo always forgets that their entire city was destroyed and that half the population is annihilated as well. He and Endo probably continue their friendship without ever remembering.

I'm reviving this thread. I feel like Endo was an alter ego he used for Endymion when he was under Beryl's control. But because mamoru is fighting it, Endo is drawn to Usagi, but she knows something isnt quite right, even though she doesnt want to believe it.

Personally, I think Endo was probably revived with the rest of the city at the end of the first arc.

Either that or Mamoru killed a dude and may/may not remember it.

I think he was evaporated?  In the manga, Endymion kind of basically looked in his eyes and he disappeared.

I definitely think Endou 1.0 died, at least initially. Whether or not he was brought back to life is interesting... how recent and how relevant to the big enemy does a person's death have to be in order for them to be revived... Since Endou 2.0 (aka Mamoru) killed him with powers supposedly bestowed by Metalia, I would say he probably was revived? But if Mamoru had just clobbered him, I'm not so sure that would apply...

Yeah, I do think Endou died and was revived later. Though I didn't think he was revived until we discussed it.

Sadly, when she heals the world, the only innocent bystander perspective comes from a few random people. If only it were Endo, we would know for sure!!! Does anyone know if they addressed his fate in Crystal?

In Crystal, instead of fading, Endo's hypnotized as well, and just walks away.

I guess considering the minor hole the producers for Crystal actually handled that well.
