She turned to make the milkshake, eyeing the sudden appearance of an ice cream freezer grumpily and muttered something quietly about soda fountains and coffee shops not being the same thing as she started scooping out vanilla into a blender jar. She half turned back to him when he asked his question, her eyes travelling to the cheerful blonde manager once he finished, and stayed there until that blonde waved back energetically, then checked something on her clipboard and made a check mark with her pen and started scratching something down beside it.

"Nothing's the matter," she replied with forced levity as she turned back around and locked the jar into place, "Just lucky to work here." She quickly dumped milk into the mixture, pumped in a shot or two of vanilla, and hit blend to drown out any other question as her eyes found the blonde again. With a cheerful smile shot her way, she rolled her eyes fondly and returned to making the order.

Welp, I tried. Any more and she'll get mad for sure.
For some odd reason, he didn't notice the manager until now. He wanted to converse with her, but he felt that "Enyalius" would take it the wrong way and get annoyed anyway, so he just patiently waited for his drink, overturning the coins he had in his pocket to pay with, as to keep his hands occupied.

When adequately mixed, she poured the drink into the proper container - or what she figured to be proper - and plopped it onto the counter and started to ring him up on the register, her eyes narrowing as she picked through new menus to find the milkshake button. After a moment, the machine clicked, beeped, and she nodded for him to pick up the milkshake without asking for payment. "It's on the house," she stated, then fell back to lean against one of the tall counters, obviously considering her job to be done.

Well, Alright then! Free milkshake! This ain't so bad after all!


He grabbed the milkshake with his right coinless hand, carrying it over to a nearby table, and had a sip as he sat down.

Ooh, this is a good'un!


He didn't have the best luck with shakes when they're from a coffee shop. Sometimes it would taste like vanilla. Others? Just ice. This was a good one, so of course it tastes like vanilla.

He glanced over to the counter again, and from his POV, Enyalius was looking away. The manager, meanwhile, was standing around, closer to looking at him than Enyalius was.

I don't really fancy her, but what the hey.


He gave the manager a warm smile, not expecting anything bad to come out of it.

Anya/Kyan

When a young man entering the establishment approached the counter and began asking about milkshakes, Anya stifled a small chortle. At least somebody else picked up on the barista’s bad mood. Her eyes shot back to the tip jar and Enya, and then to her belongings next to the cash register.

“...Oh, right,” she mumbled below her breath as the man took his drink and sat down. Her tea would get too cold if she spent much longer at the counter antagonizing the barista. The Russian physicist carefully placed her bound folder on top of her PIEZO XL 4094 apparatus and then lifted it from the counter into her arms. She gave Enya one last patronizing glance before retreating toward her table, one cautious step at a time.

As there wasn't anything stimulating going on besides the good milkshake in his hands, his eyes were drawn, naturally, to Anya. In the process, he noticed something... off about her. As he was a gaming aficionado, he knew when what appears to be a normal human looked uncanny, and this was hitting a nerve for him. Her face seemed a bit too clean, a bit too perfect. Why did she look so perfect?

Before he became Sailor Koronis, he would've chalked this up to good face-cleaning and good application of makeup, but now that the concept of magic was in his life, he didn't know what to think anymore.

He doesn't realise that, all this time, he's been staring and is continuing to stare at her with an obvious confused/slightly suspicious look.

As Anya finally left and Enya hid a smirk. With a glance she saw Achelois looking away from her and quickly brought a communicator out of the pocket of her apron and texted something before quickly putting it away and looking off innocently.


The manager - the new manager who had replaced the original, tiny manager once her shift had ended five minutes ago - returned the new customer's smile after noting how Enya had not asked for the customer's name, nor put it on his cup. Bad review, bad review~ how terrible~ 

Her communicator buzzed and she glanced away from the young man to check the message, and shot a glance back at the innocent-looking worker, and gave her a pointed look before miming writing a huge X on the clipboard.

Anya/Kyan

Anya placed her scientific apparatus and folder next to her purchase on the small table she had scouted out earlier, and then plopped down onto the cushioned seat. She eagerly reached for her Ceylon-blend black tea and took a small sip. Ah, it was still hot. Thank goodness! The woman’s sigh of relief could be heard throughout the coffee shop.

Finally, I can take a moment to relax before the conference, she thought to herself. But how much time do I have? The thought crossed her mind when one of the cafe's other employees traded spots with the barista at the counter. Anya glanced around the room for a clock on the wall. It was then she noticed the young man from before staring at her with a puzzled look upon his face.

“…?”

She brought her cup to her lips and took another sip of tea, but not without staring back at him with a look of indifference in her deep blue eyes. What is his problem? she wondered to herself as she tried to analyze the situation from behind her paper cup. Has he never seen a woman from Moscow before? When his eyes did not move from her face, she slammed down her cup and quickly reached into her patent azure blue satchel, fishing around in it until she pulled out a compact mirror. Is something…wrong with my face?

“…”

Anya studied her reflection intensely. There appeared to be a slight smudging of lipstick at the corner of her mouth, but nothing major. How had he even noticed it from so far away? The Russian woman whipped out a tube of lipstick and carefully reapplied the lavender color to her lips. She glanced back up at the young man to check if he was still watching her.

It was at this point that William did realise that he was staring all this time, quickly broke eye contact and tried to formulate his explanation:
"Oh, uhhh, sorry for me staring so much. Your skin just looks very... Smooth, and I was curious, is all."
Dang it, His thoughts went as he eyed the Koronis Pen stuffed in his bag. If I were Sailor Koronis at this point in time, I could just scan her and be done with it. But that would cause too much of a ruckus right now. He went back to sipping his milkshake while waiting for a response.

Anya/Kyan

Anya looked up from her compact mirror. Again, how could he tell from so far away? She wondered, eyeing him suspiciously as she returned the object to her handbag. The excuse he provided for his unusual behavior only exacerbated her mood. Smooth skin? Now that sounded like something Timur would have said to excuse his laughter and staring had he been present during last month's meeting when she spilled their colleague's glass of water all over herself and her binder. Did this man really expect her to buy such an obvious excuse to ogle her body? She couldn't blame him though. After all, she had put much thought into her humanoid figure.

“Yes, I am a woman. Yes, I have a face,” she spoke up in a stern Slavic accent, “And so do you, it seems. But where are your manners, hun?” She took another drink from her tea. Human males were so simple-minded sometimes.

At this point, William was starring to sweat beads. He wasn't entirely sure why He was so nervous, but he realised why when he saw her unusually long tongue as she spoke and equally long fingers.
Okay, I NEED to figure out what's going on with her. But what if she IS something magical and also hostile to Sailor Guardians? What can i- He interrupted his own thoughts as he gained an idea.
"Enyalius, do you know where the bathroom is?"

The young man in front of her ordered before she even took her place in the line. That was absolutely fine; Miyu needed a moment to peruse the menu.

Of course, she went ahead and ordered the same thing she usually did, anyway.

"Excuse me, I'd like a chamomile tea-in-training, please," the girl politely requested once it was her turn. She felt like the barista looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on where she had seen the young woman before.

Miyu stepped to the side just before the young man came up to ask his question, adjusting her massive shoulder bag as she did so.

"Small tea, got ya," Enyalius repeated in a bored tone. She turned, grabbed a tea bag at random - it could have been chamomile? it was orange, why not - and tossed it into a 6-oz mug and hit go on the water heater, turned, and resumed her bored position, her eyes sliding over to the clock on the wall as though counting down the minutes until she could leave. ... but it'd be a long time before she could leave.

As the boy approached she listened without moving, then pointedly nodded her head at the BATHROOMS OVER THERE --> sign she had made on a blank strip of receipt paper and posted with masking tape beside the counter for occasions just such as this. It wasn't easy to find - or even see - until she nodded at it, but she apparently didn't care.

She handed over her money and picked up the cup. When Miyu took a cautious sip of the scalding liquid, it tasted more like... oranges than chamomile. Dark brown eyes looked up at the surly brunette, hesitant, and she decided not to say anything. Especially considering her dismissal of the bathroom question.

"Thank you," she squeaked, cupping the beverage and shuffling towards an open table.

"Okay, thanks."
He yoinked the Koronis Pen out of his personal bag and booked it to the suddenly-obvious bathroom and closed the door behind him.
What he was about to do was quite rash and maybe not the best choice, but his mind was (inexplicably, even to himself) going a mile a minute due to his suspicion of Anya, but regardless, he wasn't looking for a fight. he just wanted to scan the area (including Anya) and be done with it. he flicked the Koronis Pen into the air once the bathroom was shut and...

"Koronis power, maaaake up!"

The bathroom lit up with a purple light as the transformation commenced, enough to make the light show through the door's cracks, along with the yell...

Enya shrugged in response as the lithe girl took her mug and shuffled off, then quirked a brow as the senshi transformation call rung through the air, lights playing across the floor, and her accusatory gaze slid to Anya.

Suddenly, the process stopped. The transformation lights went out, William was still just himself and not Sailor Koronis and there was even an inexplicable fart sound the exact instant it ended to seemingly just rub salt into the wound. There was a pause as he processed what just happened.

"Wha- How did- I- OH, GOD ******* **** IT!"
Dejected and frustrated, he stormed right out of the bathroom and back to his seat, mumbling unsanitary things as he went back to drink some more milkshake. At least he was no longer paranoid, just annoyed.

Miyu tried to keep her focus on her studies. After all, that's why she had stopped in this coffee shop for a moment, wasn't it? She tried not to glance warily at the young man who had glowered his way back to one of the café tables. He didn't seem to be having a great day. She didn't want to pry, of course. And she didn't know if he'd appreciate that—a lot of people didn't.

Instead, she tried to keep her eyes looking curiously towards the door, wondering if anyone else was going to come inside.

It happened almost suddenly, and with a rather loudly. A strangely clad woman ran through the doors, seemingly to accidentally push her way in. She pauses for a moment, her eyes unable to be seen through her long unkempt hair, but her body language seems to note that she is certainly very, very confused. At this moment, the door shuts, and she swirls around-seemingly incredibly startled by the ordinary sound. She stays there, attention directed intently at the door for a few moments before she seems to relax. It is that this point she begins to walk rather briskly around the cafe, her long cloak getting dangerously close to other patrons tabletops. She doesn't seem to notice this as she simply walks behind a counter where employees are clearly the only ones allowed and begins to dig through the silverware, picking up various utensils and examining them with what could only be described as childlike curiosity.
