Hello and welcome to the first ever (I think!) edition of the $1,000,000 Pyramid - GC Style!

You don't have to be familiar with the game show to play! In fact, it has been modified quite a bit to fit a forum environment, so be sure to read the rules!

OBJECT:
The object of this game is to guess a holiday themed item that someone describes for you. The person describing the object cannot use the word for that object in their description! Think of it almost like message board charades. ^^ (It can get harder than it looks sometimes. )

EXAMPLE:
Let's say the category was Sailor Moon and the word I was given to describe was "odangoes"

I might say something like "That hair thing" at which point you might look at me blankly and say "barrettes? hair clips?"

But I need you to guess odangoes! So I'll continue with something like "bun head!" or "Usagi's hairdo".

Now you know that phrase, and you guess the word correctly. So the idea is to describe the item given without using the word! The better your description, the better chance your word will be guessed right.

THE RULES:

This is open to anyone at any time, no need to sign up. Jump right in!

Rules for Describers:
For each round there will be one Describer and everyone else must try and guess what holiday word/item they are talking about.

If you are the describer, you are not allowed to use the word or even part of the word I have given you in your post.

Go ahead and post your description in thread once you have received your word.

Describers can post as often as they want to give additional hints until someone guesses.

Once someone guesses your holiday word, you can go ahead and announce they are correct and I will get the next round going. (If I don't get to it first. LOL)

 If you are the Describer and someone guesses correctly, you get a point.

To prevent against inactivity, if you have not posted your description within 48 hours after I PM you, I will go ahead and act as describer for that round so that we can keep the game moving. You can always try again. But please try to be active if you're going to play.


Rules for Guessers:
If you make a guess, please wait until someone else has guessed before you try again. ^^

I will start us off, but after the first round, the first correct guesser will become the describer of the next phrase and so on. They will be PMed with the word/item they need to describe.

If you guess what someone is trying to describe correctly, you also get a point.

Awards will be given for the top three players with the most points.

If after 3 days no one can guess the word, I'll end the round and start us off fresh. No one will get any points for that round.
